Diana, Princess of Wales left her unhappy marriage to Prince Charles in 1996. The following Summer, she began dating Dodi Al-Fayed - the son of Mohamed Al-Fayed - who owned Harrods department store in London and The Ritz Hotel in Paris. Dodi was known for his luxurious way of living.

I think people are fed up of this ‘cult of Diana’ that make her almost a saint. She was not! She did many, many great things and was very kind, but she also had affairs with married men too, which many people find difficult to forgive; and yet the ‘cult of Diana’ overlook this, while berating Camilla for doing the same thing with one man.

As a former ER physician I can tell you the best first place for a trauma patient is where there is an operating room with trauma surgeons. This is called the "golden hour" in trauma care
Trauma is a surgical issue , first and foremost. That is what could have saved her life.
it wasn't possible to rush her to hospital.... She crashed during the ride, so they went carefully to avoid further problems. They got her ther alive but her injuries were too severe to be fixed.

me too, although unlike probably most of the commenters here, I was a love struck pre teen fella in Nov 1980 when she was walking and being interviewed with the blue sweater and grey skirt. With so much online now I dont look at them much now. I used to have a ton of books as well but now just have one where I was snapped meeting her on a walkabout.

As a former ER nurse it took way too long for ambulances to get there. We crack the chest open with rib cutters and the ribs are and when the chest is open you squeeze the heart with your hand while taking them to the OR.That injury of pulmonary artery tear is a life ending injury. There is nothing you can do. I was working a night shift in the ER when a patient in the waiting room saw it on the news. We were all in shock and I cried
As a former ER nurse you should know that policies change from country to country. Actual doctors ride with the ambulances in France. They pull over anytime the patient is coding, stabilise them and continue on.

Unless all ambulances are equipped with the same and we know they're not, they are next to useless in emergencies.

One thing I don't understand is why the ambulance driver wasn't made to account for the decisions he made: No ambulance lights on, stopping by the side of the road for a half hour, bypassing 2 readily available hospitals, waiting outside the gates of the final hospital before taking her to the emergency entrance for assistance. It is so odd that the driver wasn't gone over with a fine tooth comb for his actions. 😮... 🤔 Strange.

It's very simple. The policies in France must be different to the ones in your country. In France actual doctors ride in the ambulances. They immediately start care on the patient before it even gets to hospital but they must pull over if the patient has coded to be able to stabilise them so that they can immediately go into operating theatre when they reach hospital. This is one of the saddest celebrity stories ever in my lifetime. I was too young to feel anything for the assassination of JFK. I could only see that all of the adults around me were in shock and grieving. But I was a new mother in my 30's when Diana died. I remember the morning when my husband came into our bedroom and said that "she didn't make it." I am a Cancerian as was Diana, so all of the intuition that she felt and divulged to her assistant is not far fetched. We "moon children" have a 6th sense and can feel and see things that others cannot. I've seen all of these film clips before in other videos: they continue to bring up the emotions of that day as if it were happening all over again. Gosh, she had gorgeous legs. I'm not sure if she and Kate would have hit it off, but I think that she and Meghan would get along great. Just a Cancerian sense.

You are as bad as this documentary, making up things. France has doctors riding in their ambulances. They are the ones that are stabilizing the patient. They have to pull over if the patient has crashed to bring them back. That's how bad Diana was hurt, that they were pulling over every 5 minutes. Diana's heart was literally ripped from its resting place to the other side of her body. She would not have lived. It would have been impossible. If someone took a shotgun and blew off their head, it doesn't matter how fast you get them to the hospital they're already gone.
Why would the French do that? My own and my families experiences of the French medical/health authorities are second to none. They are excellent. You do realise they were trying to keep her alive by massaging her heart in this time? Do you really- in all your wildest dreams - think the French wanted Diana dead? And why?

It really was upsetting when she, when they both died, when the car accident happened. Not having known any of them, it was still upsetting. Hopefully they are happy in Heaven with Dodi’s dad. That means if you are to have any success at saving someone from a critical accident, you have an hour (roughly) to get them to definitive care at a hospital for immediate surgery.
