My mother was of Jackie's generation and absolutely idolized her. If Jackie was on the cover of a magazine, my mom bought a copy. She thought Jackie was one of the most beautiful and fashionable ladies ever. As I became an adult, my mom and I had an inside joke where we pretended that she and Jackie were BFFs. I'd ask my mom, "Heard from Jackie lately?", and my mom would answer, "No, but you know how busy she is with her editing job. She hardly has time for her friends anymore!" 😂

I think Diana was trying to do what Jackie did and escape to a wealthy husband who could protect her from known and unknown monsters. Both were media and fashion icons, their husbands endlessly cheated on them, and had young children when their marriages ended in tragedy, Jackie was in the car when Jack died and likely even a target. During the gathering of the details of the JFK assassination Jackie was interviewed at her townhouse in Georgetown to spare her having to deal with the public’s attention.
I had a friend who was responsible for typing up the daily notes. She was trusted not only to not divulge the details but she couldn’t even hint what she was working on.
She was escorted to and from the sessions and locked in with a cop standing outside.
She says that she was happy to do what she could to help get the information for the investigation and to keep Jackie’s privacy.

GOSSIP!!! Jackie Kennedy Onassis was a remarkable lady who worked tirelessly to improve both the US and World (one would have to RESEARCH her accomplishments NOT "info" from a CZcams video!!! So MANY statements on Jackie Kennedy Onassis who never saw her or met her or nnew anything about her. She went through her personal nightmares (father died of drink, gambling and lost great wealth, she was put eventually in a boarding school).
She did AMAZING things for WA, The White House (preservaton) and NYC (preservatoin of historical landmarkes and art and much much more.
I lived in NYC for 33 years and one could see her about all the time. She visited a place where I worked with her sister (Very ELite "The Box Tree" (was GRACIOUS) soft spoken (like a little bird) and even THANKED me for remembering her coat!!! (I checked coats at this mosty "gay men place) Her MINK coat along with other women's so I tucked it in a spot where I could not confuse it!!! )
She miscarried, and one baby one "still born" which devestated her! (and her husband was on a Yatch with friends - and had to be convinced to return to the US "if" he wanted to run for President!) (oh and his father "convinced" HER to not get a divorce re his many many infidelities! She lost another baby Patrick (Hyaline membrane disase - can't breath) 3 months prior to JFK murder in Dealey Plaza!
Those posting negative statements base it on "mag rag" info (such as this ???video).

After reading some of the comments it's apparent that some don't understand the era. Not excusing the infidelity at all but marriage in general but especially in the "upper class" during that time was viewed very differently than today. The thing that amazes me was the age of Jackie at the time of becoming 1st Lady & death of her husband 31 years old & then 33. The class she displayed, how she carried herself can't be matched by those of the same age in today's society. Whether you agree, like or don't like the Kennedys you have to say that Jackie was a Lady

Not well-known, because Jackie kept it hidden from the media, is that she was a heavy smoker. That is likely the reason she had miscarriages and premature babies. Same with her sister. Possibly also the reason she later died of cancer. Before and during her marriage to JFK, Jackie put more emphasis on her French heritage through her father and downplayed her Irish on her mother's side to elevate her status. Smart lady!
