I'm getting ready to purchase a Toro 50" Timecutter ZT. I think I've watched most of your videos on this and similar mowers. NO ONE comes close to the quality and quantity of information in your videos. If I lived anywhere close to where your store is, I know where I'd be making my Toro purchases. That being said, on a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the mulching capabilities of the 50" model. Flat ground, not extremely wet or dry residential yard. I've heard some owners say it mulches great and others say the mulching kit is not good.
Thanks and again nice job on your videos.
Thank you Mark! We like the mulch kit and think it does a great job on this machine, however it will slow you down just a bit and it will slightly comprise your cut (there may be a missed blade of grass or two around your yard) but we think the pros outweigh the cons. It sounds like you have the right conditions for it
@@billmahan6373 Thank you bill :)
I had a mulch kit initially and it did an excellent job provided you cut the grass when mostly dry and do not let it get too tall between mowing. Downside is I did not like the layer of thatch, particularly during very hot and humid weather. For last 7 years have used a Toro bagger that does great. One of the advantages is the reduction in weeds due to bagger sucking up weed-seeds and much fewer herbicide treatments. Note: Recently purchased a "blow out" kit at Home Depot for bagger that increases efficiency such that it picks up leaves like six ways from Sunday leaving little to no trace of leaves behind. Good luck and enjoy your new Toro.
My husband bought one of these for my birthday when they first came out. We had an acre property back then and it was a definite Godsend. My Mom (She’s in Heaven now) used to watch me use it and always loved the giant grin on my face from riding it. She had never seen anyone who loved mowing the yard the way I did!
We moved after she passed and purchased a smaller property, so it was time to sell my beautiful machine. Well, we’ve moved to Florida and have a larger property again, so needless to say, we bought another TimeCutter!! I’m breaking it in today and can’t wait to get started, 😁
That's so sweet. I can't imagine how excited you must be to use that machine again. Have fun reliving those sweet memories.
Thank you Stu! The timecutter is on my short list for purchase so this video was super helpful!
Glad it helped John. 🙂
Awesome video - quite possibly the best overview I've seen on the TimeCutter series. Thank you. I have to toss a little feedback in there though: "We promise. We never see them fail." lol
haha thank you Jamie. Glad you liked the video. I know how that might seem a little sales-y but what Stu meant was 'in comparison with other mowers', we barely ever see them in the repair shop.
Maybe I am being a bit rude but having an hour meter as an option is stupid. It should be a stock standard thing
We agree, all the accessories would be nice, but from the manufacturers perspective a majority of the market is shopping on price. And adding features would increase manufacturing cost. By providing accessories, customers can add on what’s important to them.
All deers have time clocks on them
I agree, I just bought this mower and couldn’t believe they don’t have one stock. It’s wired up and read to go, hell even the slot is cut out. Yet they still make the consumer buy it and install it. Why not just do it and add it in to the total mower price?
Makes perfect sense. I am however from the small funds category myself so I'd like all the accessories as stock haha😅@@mainstreetmower
TY! A perfect overview that's to-the-point and well presented.
Thank you chase. Glad you liked it.
I have a Toro steering wheel zero turn. I like the fact I can pull a 25 gallon tank sprayer and spray along a fence, turn and pull away. With the lever type zero turn because of the way the back end swings around. When you try to turn it drives the sprayer into the fence. Bring back the steering wheel.
It might be a little frustrating specially if you're used to the older style steering wheel handles but that's only until you get used to the newer levers. They add so much more maneuverability to your mower it's really helpful for tricky yard work.
Very helpful video! Thank joy for the useful information.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the demo on getting a digital copy of my parts list, etc. I have the 42 inch TC with a welded deck and the owners manual is around here some place. Oh by the way, I read everything prior to using it.
Love it! You can always save this video as a reference to come back to in case you can't find your paper manual 🙂
Great overview tutorial thanks👍
Thank you Camilo, glad you enjoyed it!
Hey thanks for the upload!
Thank you Rich!
nice job! just signed off on a new 50 inch timecutter!
Awesome. Enjoy the Mow Daniel.
Great video on operating the mower. I would love to see a video on how to install a sunshade on a timecutter. I can't find one on CZcams.
Cool video. It would be great to see a video on what makes the different 42” Timecutters different from each other. Toro seems to list 4 or 5 models for the same deck size.
Good idea Mr Mullin, we’ll do it soon
One of options is the MyRide, where the seat and foot area are on a shock absorber set up so that if you have an unsmooth lawn, you are not feeling every bump. Well worth it in my opinion.
@@dconkey1 Agreed with every word in this comment. We even made a video entirely on the MyRide feature. You can check it out here: czcams.com/video/iXxOgn7yPOA/video.html
Great Video! I've noticed that these newer models of the Timecutter's have a different deck assembly from the older models. Can you do a video of how to remove to deck for blade replacement? I'm yet to find one on CZcams
Thanks man. Yes, we can put that video in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, you might wanna check out this video where we go over installing a mulch kit. You might find what you're looking for when we go over replacing your blades in that video. Here's the link: czcams.com/video/m5aQASnL-8g/video.html
I found a brass spring lying loose in front of the steering handle.
Don’t know where it goes can’t see one in front of left handle??
Just g o to the next setting up 😅
Can you cut a 20deg slope with this mower
Why can the mower not be filled close to top of fuel capacity?Recomended to fill to neck
If that zero-turn had a Kawasaki engine, it would be PERFECT!!! 🫤
They do have a 52" Timecutter that comes with a 23 HP Kawasaki V-Twin 726cc engine. The model number are 75750 & 75759, in case you want to check them out.
@@mainstreetmowerThanks for the video. To avoid confusion, the models listed, 75750 and 75759, are 50” machines, not 52”.
@@ChasClem You're right, those are 50" not 52". Thank you for pointing that out.
It does 😅
I was seriously thinking about buying one until I saw the price on a grass catcher $800 and the Mulching kit $160
Yes sir, unfortunately the whole lawn care industry is getting more expensive because of the economic circumstances in the country.
@@mainstreetmower I have a Cub Cadet with a chute block and a grass catcher much cheaper but the quality of the Toro Grass Catcher and mulcher is far superior than the Cub Cadet. This makes me really curious is the overall design of the Toro superior to the Cub Cadet. Thanks for the video
I have seen higher ratings for the Toro mulching kit. In favor of the cub cadet: lights and an actual oil drain hose. I had to buy a random hose from home depot to drain the oil. 5/8 “ seems to fit but haven’t tried draining it yet.
Question about deck height. I was at a local dealer when a man was saying his MyRide 50" deck at the 4" setting measured only 3.5" at the blades from ground to cut part of the blades. Another man spoke up and said he's measured only 3" at the 4" setting. The dealer said he didn't know of any problems like that. At that time, I left the store. Got home and looked that problem up on Toro website nothing but sure enough on youtube a guy showed the setting 4" at handle 3.5" at blades. Is this a problem and if so, what is the fix. Better yet does Toro know about the and not saying anything. Have you folks seemed this problem if so, what was your fix.
Just raise it up to the next setting 😅
How much$$?
will it fit through a 36 inch gate? wheel base?
The mower in this video is a 42", so definitely not. However, the TimeCutter 34" (#75734) would your best bet. I believe, it would still be tight, but it might fit if you lift up the chute.
Putz, putz ,...😅just having fun 😅
Why only good for up to 2 acres? Why not 5 acres? Will the machine burn out?
It’ll mow 5 acres, it will just take a long time. The hours mowing each week will add up. With a wider swath you could cut your mowing time in half and get twice the life from your mower.
Great video but when you mow protect your lungs a great product is mowing with a breeze. Amazing product.
We’ll check it out, thanks
Nice sales pitch. That thing is ridiculous and if I seen my neighbor wearing it I would point and laugh.
@@MR1977. very nice several thousand users of it would disagree hmmm have a great day sir.
@@michaelfultz4256 does it protect against covid and other government designed pathogens?
Thank you for the detailed video!
I was trying to figure out if I was supposed to use half or full throttle before engaging blades and a couple video I saw them saying to engage at full throttle to avoid wearing out belts and clutch and that didn't make sense to me.
I drive big trucks with 18 speeds and of course you don't let the clutch out at high rpm's as it wears out the clutch right!?! So I kept looking to make sure. Thankfully you confirmed my suspicions.
I am buying a 2023 Timecutter 54" deck with the series 7000 Kohler engine and MyRide suspension system very soon and wanted to know my facts before hand.
Anyway, thank you again and keep with the great informative vids :)🟩👨🦼
Awesome! We're glad this helped. Congratulations in advance on the new machine. 🙂
Wrong Buffalo! Manual clearly says to engage blades at full throttle. Doing so ensures you do not bog the engine and clutch engages in tje quickest time possible and does not "ride" the clutch. Additionally, engine should "always" be run at full throttle to prevent lugging the engine and to ensure maximum cooling from the built-in fan. Consequently, engine should be shut down under full throttle to burn off any fuel in the intake manifold and to ensure proper closing of the fuel shutoff servo.
Yes my manual says the same thing the only time you should be at a lower throttle is when you start the manual says start at half throttle for 5 min to warm up before you put under load
@@fonz1116 Interesting. My Toro manual shows pictures and text instructing to start, run and shutoff at full throttle. For this reason my throttle has never moved from the full throttle position since purchasing 548 hours ago. Engine and mower in general (MX5050 74770), has been trouble free and flawless during last 8 years of ownership.
Junk, cutting my lawn playing grass. I want a half on a new mower oil was OK and I heard a clunk and a really bad vibration so evidently one of the spindles has gone bad already. It’s going back.
