As from someone else who has played this game for about a few weeks, this guide does help. Good job mate.
For anyone wishing to push harder in an adventure, get a herbalist, and make them buy all the godsbeards , as they can do Party Heal. Don't hesitate buying 1 or 2 Panax's, they cure all effects
Golden Root, obviously, really really handy. If you're struggling on a dungeon, or a part of the game, feel free to backtrack and grind starting enemies.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from this game it’s that you should never, AND I MEAN NEVER, fight the electric birds. Everything with the “dodge anything that isn’t a perfect attack” ability is down right bullshit already, but the electric birds can induce the electric debuff (takes up an action slot PREVENTING A PERFECT ATTACK) which outright guarantees that you won’t be able to hit them! I learned this the hard way.

THANK YOU for the recommendation of playing Hildebrant's Cellar first. I was struggling to get more than 2-3 battles in For the King mode. The mechanics of the game make so much sense after 3 floors of the cellar.

Hi Cross Current, could you help clarify a few rules to the game:
1. How does ambushing affect who goes first? How does "fight"? Must a failed ambush result in the enemy going first or just a bit earlier than they would? What determines the usual distribution on the combat turn tracker?
2. Does "removing chaos" have any effect if the there isn’t any chaos visible on the turn tracker?
3. What happens when a character dies? What are various means of reviving a character? (Is moving to the hex of the dead character the only way?)
4. What happens when all the lives are used up (and what happens when, after that, a character dies?)
5. What should I know about, in advance, regarding chaos and scourges?
6. Can I backup my saves in case things go wrong so that we do not have to do the beginning all over again?

1. When ambushing it will allow the ambusher to go first, as well as possibly more depending on speed. i'm not for certain on the exact amounts of speed necessary, i'm sure that compares to the enemies' speed as well. I tend to almost always go for a fight instead otherwise all the opponents will go first, or if faster, they might get a second attack as well. if you regularly fight, then i t will determine order via the speed ratings of your allies and your enemies.
2. I have noticed a drastic decrease in chaos when removing it and not seeing it on the bar. I know for certain if it's in the near future but not happened yet that it will remove it though.
3. WHen a character dies, you can respawn via the lives you have in the middle top right of the screen. when those are gone (depending on the mode) you will get a few chances to earn lives from "fountains of life" which will allow you to have a chance or use all focus to ensure extra lives with a chance of loss. These will look similar to sanctums or statues on the map. When the character is dead, he will be looted until all is gone slowly, and if you revive stranded you use safety stones to get -1 to all stats when you return to the mainland. when every character dies, the game ends. Characters that die can be revived without being moved to, but there is a price to it. It will remove a certain amount of EXP to respawn you in a town without being picked up.
4. when all lives are used up and your last character dies. the game ends.
5. With scourges. Take them out right when they pop up on the bars. when you find one of the scourges hideouts, best to save for that moment. after 5-6 i believe that is all the scourges in the game and when they are all cleared. no more scourges will show up for the remainder of the game! with chaos, just kinda keep an eye on it, it's meant to deal with wasting too much time in the game rather than progressing. It is very slow paced though, so unless on master mode, just remove it when it's at one chaos. i've never had to worry about more than that!
6. The only way to backup files is to save and exit before all die, or disconnect from the game. it will respawn you before the fight which would be the last save. I'm not sure if that works if you all die, because it may save immediately afterwards!

Let me add what I learned in the meantime:
1. Successful ambush definitely results in the ambusher going first. Failed ambush results in the opponent(s) going first. In normal "fight" who goes when is determined by speed. Hint: If an enemy is alone it is probably better to just fight them, UNLESS you know from previous experience that the enemy will go first. Then it makes sense to try ambushing because you have nothing to lose. In case the enemy would NOT normally go first, and they are alone, then ambushing makes no rational sense.
2. From official wiki: When Chaos is reduced and you have no current Chaos level, it will be removed from the timeline instead, even if there is no chaos visible on the current timeline selection.

I certainly look to make more content on the game, unfortunately this game takes a long time to unlock content necessary, and videos take a lot of time to create. It may be after a video or two of other smaller games, but more content will surely happen for "for the king" :)

Hobo is not really that good honestly. He's strong point is he can fill any role but he doesn't have a main stat(higher than 75) or any skills. Now when we consider the scholar, mainly intelligence, can also play lutes, can switch to spears if physical damage is necessary and decent speed with a useful refocus skill. Just wanted to say this.

He actually can be useful as a speedy tank. If you use him with a shield and a vitality dagger (rusty knife, sturdy knife, or sturdy dagger) he has very consistent damage and you only need to max vitality

How do I move my characters??
it is turn order. you move one character on the map by clicking on the hexagonal tiles. shows how much movement you get depending on weather/other conditions. once one character finishes moving, you have to click the purple button on the top right corner to signify that character's turn is over. then you can go to the next character's movement
