    Hi. We are renting a flat in East London. We live on the 5th floor of a modern building. Does Virgin Media need to drill a hole in our front door? (I fear the landlord will not allow that) And engineer recently installed cables to the hallways near our main doors and was told the line will be active within a fortnight. Recently signed up for Sky but still waiting for an engineer on the 27th to install our broadband. Chose them coz its the cheapest in my area. Comment please?

      You will require a coax cable to your virgin media modem however the landlord will probably allow this as virgin media is one of the best ISPs around it mainly depends where you’re going to put your modem/router

    We are lucky to have both virgin media and BT FTTP in our area, went with bt because we were with them for nearly 8 years and switched to BT 900 for £40 as offer.. we currently get rock solid 940 down and 120 upload for the last 6 months... downloading can go as fast as 127MBps second which is just slightly over 1gig

      @monkeyboi282 Před 2 lety

      8 months later you’ve probably fixed it now. Can you remember what it was? My first thought is you could have been using a sub par Ethernet cable. The lower cat ethernets will not transfer high speeds

    • @letsberealistic2288
      @letsberealistic2288 Před 2 lety

      @@monkeyboi282 funniest thing is I've not resolved it yet I just stick to wireless as I get better speed doing that now. I know it sounds crazy. Yeh I've heard a few people say there's all these new adapters for firesticks now that can accept ethernets at high speeds.

    • @LPeck1985
      @LPeck1985 Před 4 měsíci

      @@letsberealistic2288 Ethernet is the best way to go especially for gaming and Smart TVs. However it does depend on the cable and the back port of the router. The older routers, (ISP based) had just one 1GIG ethernet port, but the newer ones should support 1GIG/2GIG based transfers. Use a Cat6 or Cat7, (forget the latest Cat8) but first check your router ethernet ports which state their max transfer speeds, (1GIG etc).

      @luxurywatches3751 Před 4 lety

      Hi there. I am a manager with Virgin Media Complaints team. The green light which is flashing on the router is actually a glitch. Previously we had a fix date for it to get resolve and that was on first week of July but now even our system does not show any estimate resolve date. We were assured that this will not cause any service interruption but if you face any problem, please give a call and ask for tech.

    All ISP routers are trash. Fact. Personal routers are 100x better. 👌

    Hyperoptic is by far the best and true fibre, symmetric speeds and ping is under 5ms.
