    If you request an opt-out on the super code, what keeps Liberty from keeping a list of those people and giving it to the Fed as Suspicion activity

    • @A1LocksmithofTexas
      @A1LocksmithofTexas  Před 10 měsíci +4

      Personally, because I’ve never seen them have an issue with it in the past, many customers have brought it up in the past. They announced they’ve changed their in-house policies specifically in junction to working with law enforcement, which will require a subpoena with Liberty being named in the document from a court. The number one call that the customer service department at Liberty receives every single day is “I lost my combo”, so they’re aware with the recent news more people may request the opt out. They have never had an issue deleting anyone’s information, ever. This is nothing new in the industry. Several thousands of customers do not have their safe registered or does Liberty have their lock information. Deleting the lock information is a push of a button and they’re happy to do it. Always have been. Like I talk about in the video if there’s any concerns in that regard then there are multiple other options you can use. If you have a keypad lock then you can buy another one for $185.99 and do a hard reset yourself at home to wipe it of Liberty’s super code.

    Apart from management of the internal reset or management codes by deleting are there any electronic safe locks that cannot be opened by the little black box? It looks like a little black box will open almost any electronic lock today. Is there something I can put on that it will not open? Ultimately if I lock my safe, it's because I don't want it to be opened ever. Unless someone obviously has the combination. So can you recommend an electronic lock that is not able to be opened by the LBB? Thank you for the video! And by the way, I think removing serial numbers from the safe and the lock is a great idea for security.

      Thanks for watching! Sometimes people hear that then think they’re at risk and nothing is safe, but it’s just not true. Tools are often developed by/for specialty trades everyday to make said trades faster/more efficient. Ultimately most trades folks won’t even buy some of these tools because me they’re so expensive and they won’t make their money back. As a locksmith I do own products that make what I do much easier for me and faster for my customers. I may spend thousands of dollars on a key programmer that can’t program 3 keys that come into my shop a week and that’s deflating for me. Haha, “I spent all this money and it won’t even work?!”. I’ve used a black box that couldn’t open several different locks, I don’t think anyone has one that works on SecuRam products that I’m aware of. I tell everyone the same every time, if you’re remotely concerned about that then use a group 2 mechanical dial. Someone is always going to be looking to make a product to use on electronics in order to sell to people in the trade. These things are almost never made (in any trade) with bad intent, it’s literally to make trades people’s jobs easier and make them more efficient. Long winded, sorry, but as you can tell in my videos I’m genuinely hoping yo answer questions/describe products thoroughly for you.

A locksmith is likely to change a super code becsuse leaving a SecuRam on 1-1-1-1-1-1 is a terrible idea, but they probably wouldn’t record it. As a very large safe dealer, if we do anything like a lock swap we tell our customers “make sure you notify your safe manufacturer of any changes, so they’ll still warranty it”. However, in the case of us changing a lock you’ve probably already lost manufacturer’s warranty anyway. Long explanation, but I want you or anyone else reading my replies to be educated. @@TheBizcuit0426 Yeah absolutely, if you already have a SecuRam lock on one of your safes I would absolutely replace the S&G with one, too. The reason they moved to SecuRam in 2018 is because the reliability in the research is proven. With more and more SecuRam locks on the market we as a locksmith company are drilling less safes. The BackLit for the money is a solid option. Again, it can cleared of any factory super codes, just as long as you know if there’s ever an issue it’s going to cost you outta pocket. I think I’m gonna make another video, there is no “master code that opens every single keypad” they come with a unique super code that helps locksmiths/customer service reps troubleshoot the lock to avoid drilling. The reliability we have seen in SecuRam keypads has been great. You’re right, the convenience of a keypad is great. I say it a lot, but always use copper top Duracell alkaline batteries, they just work better in safe keypads.

      They probably record it, but there’s really no link to you. Actually I believe they most of the time their MRC is printed on the lock body itself. You would just scratch it off. But yeah, it’s never recorded anyway verses what we’re talking about with safe manufactures. Safes has a serial number - it tells the model, size, paint, color of the hardware, what size shelves were cut, the date it was made, the lock used, the super code if needed, etc. kinda like your car’s vin number tells the manufacture all the same stuff about your vehicle. However, just buying a lock from a locksmith there’s no record of anything for example. Like when you buy after market mufflers for your car, now the car manufacture doesn’t know. I hope that makes sense.

      In a word, yes. Company’s like Liberty typically have a super code or a MRC to allow a locksmith to help open the safe if you lose your combination, to troubleshoot with if the lock isn’t working properly or the original owner is diseased and his power of attorney named beneficiary. Typically, Liberty safe is called upon for a users code 4,000 times a year. The number one phone call Liberty’s customer service department gets is “I’m locked out of my safe” or “I forgot my combo” , it’s generally a combination of both. I appreciate your efforts but the reality is that if any three letter agency wants what you have in your safe they'll get in one way or another. I can hear them now, "gather around boyz were gonna do some safe cracking training." It's not like they're gonna say, "well, we can't get into the safe so I guess we'll just go back to the office."

    I think all this is a waste of time anyway, if "they" have a warrant for your safe, they will get into it... your just going to make it harder for them to do and you will lose your safe all together in the end anyway because the safe will be destroyed in the process.

      @@SRGAndy you’re right, fun and lame part of your modern form of information seeking. Checked out of the news for a while then checked back in played some catch up but not enough. Talked out my ass on the warrant. Still think it’s a BS business practice for a safe/lock manufacturer to keep a code for a product that that is supposed to keep valuables and identities secure as well as firearms and not just business practices but in conjunction with justice department overreach. We’re not supposed to be simply investigated until a crime is found if that was the case we would all be in jail or prison. Equal justice under the law would have all the SJW mobs that did waaaaaay more to damage our country than J6 under the same scrutiny. but if you believe finding crimes at any means necessary and unjustly searching for them in the manner that is being done… 🤷🏻‍♂️. If these people were held to the same standard they are trying and succeeding against J6 simply because of political reasons are worse and more dangerous than any single one of the people at the capital on J6! That is the threat to our country and even if you think everyone involved is guilty the way our government is going about it is insane and if anyone thinks it’s ok to go this far for a freaking riot that was tame compared to what we saw for 2 years straight just before this and I don’t believe you can believe in this country and it’s laws only the laws that affect those you disagree with.

    What happens to your safe with electronic lock if there is an EMP event? Permanent lock?

    • @A1LocksmithofTexas
      @A1LocksmithofTexas  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If you have one of the newer S&G or SecuRam locks (meaning the lock was manufactured after 2018 for sure) or the safe already has a EMP rating sticker on the door. There’s such thing as a military rating , MIL-STD-4615 and today’s lock have that. And otherwise a mechanical lock is 100% full proof from EMP.
