He is going to get some stiff competition. Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, and probably what may be his biggest competition in John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy. Reilly looks more impressive as Hardy than Malek as Freddie.

That stung, but what really got me in the movie was the ending credits. As the roar from Wembley faded out and was replaced with Don't Stop Me Now, it didn't feel like the movie was over yet. In fact, you could swear that it never was. It was only when the song was over, and Freddie's voice faded out did it hit you. The story's over. Final round of applause. Curtain call. And the last goodbyes to one of rock and roll's undisputable legends. There will never be another Freddie Mercury. But though while we will forever mourn his loss, we will always sing for him. For he was once with us. A Queen amongst the masses.

To whoever that said "Hur dur this movie should only be about Freddie because he's legendary and he made Queen what it is". No, no and NO! Queen is a collective effort and everyone is amazing in it. Sure Freddie is the frontman and of course the de facto leader in the eyes of everyone but that does not mean the other members are grass. In fact, Brian May was the brains behind the publicity of the band and he too contributed half of all the songs Queen ever sings on together with Freddie and Roger Taylor too contributed alot of songs to the band's honor. Queen would never be where it is today without ALL of them, John Deacon included.

Her name was Mary Austin and she's the one you see him flirting with. They definitely do not skip over his sexuality and how his coming to realise and accept his sexuality affects him and those close to him.
god i'm so proud of rami because his popularity has really grown since mr. robot and i'm so glad he's getting the recognition he deserves. he really puts his all into every character he plays. can't wait to see this movie!!!

As someone who had the chance to see Freddie and the boys, not once but twice, back in '80 &'82 at Madison Square Garden it appears this movie captures the true essence of Queen. I've seen a few documentaries on the band and Freddie, the work and character of Freddie himself seems to come through. Rami Malek does a great job becoming Freddie.

Nobody walked out of the movie. We stayed because they showed a performance of Don't Stop Me Now followed up by Show Must Go On. So the while audience which was filled to capacity btw sat there or stood in the aisles until there were no more Queen songs in the closing credits. I've watched on cable a bunch of times too since. It's great.
Watching all those peoples in the end clapping at the same beat to 'we will rock you' makes me speechless every time. The amount of unity in his songs and how it can bring a diverse group of people together....it's incredible. I love those artists.

Why isn't it adressed that the man who caused the 1991/92 resurgence of Bohemian Rhapsody, Mike Myers, is playing the record executive who says "Nobody is going to play this song!" It's maybe the most perfect tounge in cheek moment in a movie in a decade.
Yeah in Wayne's World for that scene, the directors wanted a Guns N' Roses song, but Mike Myers protested for Bohemian Rhapsody and was going to leave the movie if they didn't do it.
My mother told me that when she dies, that she told my grandparents she wants Another One Bites The Dust played at her funeral and my grandmother looked at her like, "Wth?! No! What is wrong with you?" I laughed my ass off and I couldn't be anymore on my mother's side!🤣🤣🤣
Went and seen it yesterday as it's already released in the UK. Best movie I've seen in a long time, so good. I couldn't recommend it highly enough- I won't be surprised if it wins countless awards.
I was at the premiere of the movie and I just have to say, absoultely one of the best performances, astonishing, outstanding job of Rami! This movie will absolutely ROCK YOU. So well made. It was incredible and so SO interesting to see how it all happened. The cast its just perfect and its goosebumps all the time. I think it really did a great job portraing the magic of Queen and payed omage to Freddie in the right way 💛👑 Also, couldn't stop listening to Queen since then 😭👌🏻💯
Freddie was married to a woman guys. Of course he would have flirted with her at some point. He even wrote in his will that "[She] was the only woman I ever loved." He probably would have hated being labeled anything really. Love is love and he loved who he loved regardless of what was in their pants.

I have a vivid memory of walking around the school playground in third grade with a cassette recorder blasting another one bites the dust that I had taped off the radio. Ahh, memories.
I saw the movie on the first day it came out, in the uk. And It was absolutely amazing. Lost for words to how brilliant it was. Rami malek as Freddie was amazing, couldn’t have picked a better actor!

FUN FACT: At 2:50-3:05 that’s actually NOT Freddie Mercury’s voice. That’s actually a man named “Marc Martel” who literally looks and sounds like the REINCARNATED Freddie! In this movie there’s 3 people who sing the music. Some of it is in fact Freddie mixed with Rami Malek’s voice and some is Marc Martel’s voice.
Very few people can meet Freddie iconic voice. I think Rami got the accent down but I think they'll have to auto tune and mix to create Freddie singing

I was at the premiere of the movie and I just have to say, absoultely one of the best performances, astonishing, outstanding job of Rami! This movie will absolutely ROCK YOU. So well made. It was incredible and so SO interesting to see how it all happened. The cast its just perfect and its goosebumps all the time. I think it really did a great job portraing the magic of Queen and payed omage to Freddie in the right way 💛👑
Also, couldn't stop listening to Queen since then 😭👌🏻💯

I'm in band and we did Queen as the theme this year. And my band director said he would take all of us to see the movie.

The is a cover band that has been touring for years called "Almost Queen". They are AMAZING!!!
I’ve heard of them. They are pretty good.
Freddie was married to a woman guys. Of course he would have flirted with her at some point. He even wrote in his will that "[She] was the only woman I ever loved." He probably would have hated being labeled anything really. Love is love and he loved who he loved regardless of what was in their pants.

I can speak about Rami Malek ( who’s playing Freddie Mercury ) all day long! I just love it how generations recognise Queen and how their music has just been passed on over the years!

FUN FACT: At 2:50-3:05 that’s actually NOT Freddie Mercury’s voice. That’s actually a man named “Marc Martel” who literally looks and sounds like the REINCARNATED Freddie!
In this movie there’s 3 people who sing the music. Some of it is in fact Freddie mixed with Rami Malek’s voice and some is Marc Martel’s voice.
Very few people can meet Freddie iconic voice. I think Rami got the accent down but I think they'll have to auto tune and mix to create Freddie singing
