“Guys,” this is one of the greatest rock songs ever performed by one of the most legendary rock bands (Queen), and lead singers (Freddie Mercury) of all time. The originality, vibrancy, transitions, lyrics, and lead singer’s voice are all jaw-dropping. When this started playing on FM stations back in late 1975, everyone stopped, mouths dropped open, tears formed in many eyes, and everyone asked, “What the hell did I just hear?” I’m so glad I grew up in this era (late ‘60’s to late ‘80’s) - the best years ever for popular music. Freddie Mercury is a Global Rock Icon. This song was covered by Angelina Jordan in a jazz version and shortened because she was on AGT and they like 2 minutes or so to do their song. The band Queen texted her that they liked her cover. She won Norway Has Talent at age 7yr singing legendary jazz songs amazing well. Enjoyed your reaction

Freddie Mercury actually recorded an album of OPERA titled Barcelona with Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe in 1987.... Freddie was actually the FIRST rock/pop musician to cross music genres, to collaborate with a singer/musician from another field of music.

@@roverwaters3875 That's what I've read more-than-once; I suppose it might not be correct, but so far I haven't read something contradicting it.
Maybe more specifically, what I'd read was referencing the genres of rock music and/or classical/opera mixing... which unquestionably had not happened before. As-a-matter-of-fact, when Barcelona came out, Pavarotti called it the "dumming down of opera"... until it was successful, then a couple of years later he did his own cross-music-genre collaboration.

The middle part of this song was about the court trial of Galileo in classical Europe.
    It was a serious trail.
The courts wanted to execute him because of his proclamations, inventions and discoveries and what he was saying was going against the mainstream norms at the time.
Alot of things we know and have today hung in the balance of that trial, including people's lives.

    1) Queen is/was a group of 4 musicians, 1 pianist, 2 guitarist, and 1 drummer. All would sing to varying degrees on their albums, see #3 be;ow.
    2) There is a bit of trickery going on at the beginning, all of the voices heard are Freddie Mercury, he just over dubbed himself several times, the others just played along.
    4) Bohemian Rhapsody was written, in 1975, by the late Freddie Mercury (pianist and lead vocals), the falsetto vocals were provided by Roger Taylor (drums and vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar and occasional vocals), the guitar solos are by Sir Brian May CBE PhD (lead guitar and vocals) he is an Astrophysicist and is playing a guitar he and his father made out of stuff they had laying about, including parts of an old fireplace.

I was 14 when this came out .As soon as I could afford I caught the train into Sydney and straight to the import record store and bought myself the album. When I got home I could not wait to listen to the album but I had to wait for my parents to come home as I was only allowed to use the stereo with their permission and that at least one of them was home. Eventually they got home and shortly afterwards I asked for permission and was told yes I could use it but only with the headphones as they did not like my music tastes. My mother spots the album cover and laughs out loud at the title and asks me if my musical taste has finally lead me to what kind of music her and dad liked ? Which just made me piss myself laughing which of course mum didn’t understand why so I asked her if I could play a song out loud for them to be able to hear it,so I did and it was only when the first guitar riff kicks in did they realise it was that “so called rock music “ and told me to put the headphones on. My parents were big fans of classical, opera and musicals.

I traveled across the country, Alberta to Quebec, 5000 miles return, to see Queen in Montreal on my birthday Nov 24, 1981. I'll never forget it and it's been over 40 years. Incidentally, rumor has it that Freddie's Mom wanted him to pursue opera instead of rock. I have an inkling he would have done amazing whatever he did but am sure glad he went with his heart!

Firstly, to really appreciate the music LET IT PLAY THOUGH without interruption. Secondly, this song highlights how talented song writers were prior to, say, the 90's. Mercury, wrote the words, the music and the arrangement, then produced it. 'Singers' of today have a team of writers to write a song that has 5 or 6 words in it, then a team to produce the 'song' then it is run through an autotune and a series of computers until the singer sounds as though she/he has talent. Mercury had talent and a love for classical and opera.
