In my college days, when we were in the playground, this song would play somewhere in the distance on a loudspeaker. It was very pleasant to listen to this song in the evening, especially in the romantic evenings of June, July, and August, after six thirty, when the darkness had not yet descended. Suseela Amma's voice, as sweet as honey, would melt our hearts, while MSV's music, like a gentle breeze, would caress our souls. Together, they would transport us to a world of pure bliss, where time stood still and all our worries melted away.
Many years have passed, but the memory of that song still fills me with joy. I often close my eyes and imagine myself back on that playground, surrounded by my friends, listening to that enchanting melody. It takes me back to a time of innocence and happiness, a time when life was simple and full of wonder.
I know that those days will never come again, but I am grateful for the memories I have. They are a precious treasure that I will cherish forever. And whenever I feel sad or lost, I just need to think of that song and I am instantly transported back to that magical time in my life.
Thank you, Suseela Amma and MSV, for creating such a beautiful song. You have touched the lives of countless people, and your music will continue to bring joy for generations to come.

Shenoy or is it Oboe followed by piano accordion with a trail of violin section in some places cello is also heard.What a great teamwork and wonderful leadership by MSV. The entire melody & song with the type of orchestration is indicative of a sad future for the heroine in the story
Yes. After the solo shehenay, the scale change uplift with an array of instruments and the timing pattern and following sharp strings - beauty of Msv❤. The mellowed down rhythm for the song - Pallavi and charanams (what instrument is it - not usual tabla or anything and bold bongos in the interludes - wow amazing orchestration yet melancholic.

I just want to congratulate u..i also a singer, having immersed my friends with good old songs between 1950 to 70, while doing law at Annamalai University. I know the happiness which singer use to derive when he or she sings for people who enjoys and appreciate it. That is different. When i come to this song...i enjoy this right from its release..it gives me a such a sadness.. sadness is lovable thing ..at some time..whenever I hear this song it gives me the Vivid memory of Chandrababu, Nadigaiyar thilagam..MSV & Manohar, sir.. the Shenoy alone brings mixed feeling. I am not a critic of music, as I don't have even the basic knowledge on
music ; rather I don't deserve to comment on the compositions of MSV;
but neither I am a fan of any of the Music Directors , but has been a
regular listener of great Global Music -of Baroque, Classical, Disco, Country, Waltz, heavy metal and Pop music. Most of the directors of Tamil, Hindi film industry of yester years and the present day including Ilaiayaraja and AR Rahman lift the tunes / beats from the albums of the geniuses like Jim Croce, Antonyn Dvorac, ABBA -
New World Symphoney-- Allan Jackson and such other legends; but the
tunes/ beats of MSV are still unique and could not be imitated; the
present generation should listen to extensive genres of music to have
the feel of uniqueness of the Creativity of MSV.

Actually, I hv heard this song a few times earlier; but as I found the tune not so catchy, I didn't take cognizance of Susheela's awesome singing at such an unbelievable High Pitch WITHOUT even an iota of Strain or Shrill. Especially, when that Echo rebounds her singing, it's really stunning. I still feel MSV could have given a better, catchy tune for this song, at least for the CharaNam portion and made Susheela's painstaking effort fully worth. Bit disappointed as the tune lacked the ingredients in order to be popular.. Of course, this's my (considered) opinion. However, I hv to compromise myself as he made it good by giving another high pitched song with a catchy tune - Oh HO HO! Oadum ENNangaLe for the Film NEELA VAANAM around the same period.
I like this song because of the tune especially of the charanams. On radio the song runs a bit slow and you can enjoy the feel in the tune. In "uravenna p..o..r..a..dum sugamenna" you can feel the struggle and in "sugamenna t..a .n..i..y...ana tuyarenna" you can feel the agony in these elongated words. Plus the man is a murderer so the accompanying Shenai announces the impending doom in the lady's life even tho he doesn't kill her. I thought the tune was very offbeat. Suseela's humming and echo effect did not attract me that much. I mean there are lots of songs where we've enjoyed her humming immensely, right.
Sir, Your feeling is hundred percent justified. I have also heard this song many times earlier and felt in the same manner. Sometimes I am inclined to relish the song purely for singer if not tunes or lyrics.
@@Osho55 you are very right. I always look for the melody negotiation in the charanam. Very different song by MSV. And, the interludes - while the shennai has a long piece the following brass section in interlude kills me. Absolute creator MSV
