  • Those who know me, know I prefer to teach, train and ride bareback. I’d like to say I’m a natural at it and while that may be true, I’ve also spent a lifetime studying the biomechanics of movement. I have studied, diagnosed and problem-solved the many movements riders encounter when riding their horse’s movement. I would like to share the top 3 challenges and tips to riding with balance and confidence.
When it comes to riding with balance, neither a saddle or a bit, will help you find it and keep it. The truth about both pieces of equipment is they one was designed to help the rider not fall off the horse and the other to control the horse.
In the end, your relationship and mindset with your horse is what is going to keep you safe and in control. And when it comes to riding with balance, the following 3 areas have helped thousands of my students over the years:
    1. Correct body position and alignment
    2. Balance point - where is it?
    3. Core strength
Please watch the video for in-depth demonstration and explanation about each.
