- For the first time Rob and Tommie tried to make a how to video together. We want to show you how we practice to keep our horses in balance. Ofcourse this is an ongoing practice. In todays video Rob will be training Karma Begijnhoeve a very beautiful and hot Desperado mare. Tommie tries to help Rob. Will they succeed to keep the marriage alive?

Dat zag er geweldig uit, voor zo,n jong paard die ook nog best een ontstuimig karakter heeft, luisterde ze toch goed naar de hulpen tenminste dat is mijn leke mening, t,is toch maar weer knap wat jullie daar presteren. En Rob , petje af je was een hele goede leerling, ik had wel een opmerking verwacht maar je hield het netjes lol, alhoewel misschien kwam dat wel buiten beeld, ik zie het zo voor me lol. Maar ja eerlijk gezegd is Tommie ook wel een goede en relaxte trainer die het allemaal goed uitlegd en ja vanaf de grond zie je dingen toch anders als dat je bovenop een paard zit. Ja ik vond het een hele waardevolle aflevering want je krijcht toch wel een kijkje in hoe iemand zijn jonge paard kan helpen op een eerlijke mannier. Mooi paard trouwens ook Karma schitterend weer.Bedankt voor deze video ik heb er weer van genoten. Hopelijk zijn de scheidings papieren nog niet aangevraagd lol , bedankt top.

How much time do you spend on 20 meter circles when training the young horse in the beginning? Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
It depends always on the horse if you’re horse Is more comfortable on a circle u can spend more time on it. But if you have a horses what’s more difficult to keep in balans on the circles we try more straight lines. So first find what’s easy for you’re horse and from there u can build up 😊 so don’t use the clock haha but listen to you’re horse 🙌🏻🥰 good luck 🍀

Super leerzaam. Precies het punt waar ik met mijn merrie ook een beetje tegen aan loop. Zo veel energie wat ik soms moeilijk te verplaatsen vind.
En op 11:40 Rob, ik heb echt ZO vaak in les dat ik nog de 'oude' oefening of iets te doen en dat zij zegt ja we gingen toch *vul andere oefening in* doen haha. Dan zit ik ook altijd 'sorry'.

I found this video when researching being "behind the bit" and how being behind the vertical isn't desirable. At the end, her nose was more vertical. Does it have to do with the hands?
Well… of course it’s had to do something with hands. It’s part of the education that you teach the horse to accept the bit and getting relax on it. In todays video you see the result of this after 3 years of training 😎

Ik weet uit ervaring hoe "lastig" het is om je handen zacht en ontspannen te houden en voorwaarts te blijven denken wanneer je paard van nature heel voorwaarts en heet is.. Ze is nog jong en haar hals maakt het heel makkelijk voor haar om achter de loodlijn te duiken maar juist wanneer je je hand kunt blijven ontspannen en voorwaarts kunt blijven denken vanuit je zit zullen ze dat minder snel doen..
Rob... Je mag best wat vaker "braaf" zeggen of een klopje 😉 Je was zo focused op wat je aan het doen was dat je het belonen van dingen die ze goed probeerde te doen of goed deed vergat.. Ze pikken vaak sneller op wat jij van ze wilt als je ze laat merken dat ze iets op dat exacte moment goed doen.. Je corrigeert tenslotte ook de momenten die ze nog niet helemaal goed doet of wanneer ze nog net ff niet snel genoeg reageert op een hulp.. Zelf leren we ook sneller als iemand aangeeft wanneer we iets goed doen.. En het motiveert ook nog net ff iets meer...

Dan heb ik niks gezegd ❤️ Het tussendoor belonen en meer tegen mijn pony praten is iets wat ik echt heb moeten leren toen ik voor het eerst een jonge pony kreeg. Later met de jonge paarden was het "jeetje wat praat je veel tegen je paard" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Voor mij hielp het "leren belonen" ook om meer bewust te worden van hoeveel (kleine) dingen er eigenlijk goed gingen.. Zelfs wanneer een training echt bagger ging kon ik tevreden blijven over alle kleine positieve momentjes.

hoi ik kijk nu al een aantal fimpjes en instructie van jullie en ik heb er veel aan rij zelf nu op een friese ruin die z2 dressuur is heel mooi maar ook fijn leerpaard r tempowisselingen en het paard met hoofd op de loodlijn en dus niet achter het bit gaat erg leuk en goed rij in emmeloord bij media horses van ton en debie does ze leveren ook filmpaarden aan brit dekker en nu in reclame van bol.com sinterklaas periode dus mooie leerpaarden gr wilco vd meulen

I noticed the horse is over bent and under the bit, even on the warm up video, is this on purpose? I feel the horse should be higher and on the bit.

@@Begijnhoeve_official Yes , I feel the horse needs to stretch down, so she can stretch her back through at a walk, then after about ten mins or so you can start getting her on the bit. Even if the horse is somewaht hot you should be able to do this, for the most part. The mare looked really good at the end. You guys have a awesome place, nice facilities, I have to say in Europe the barns are so much better, and beautiful, than in the United States. Love your layout.
Yes it always difficult to have it perfect from the start. In my opinion when you finish the training better than when u start than u have reached the goal. With young horses it’s just sometimes impossible en unfair ( in my opinion) to be perfect from the start. I think you have to give the horse a change to find her balance her self even when there are moments where it’s mabe not the picture we want. Ofcourse we did walk her with a long rein before we started filming 😊

For sure? Just ask yourself if your horse can easily breathe this way. Not that important. Holy.

I’m sorry, way too much hand in front! The position of the head is important! If correct biomechanic principles are applied you’re not pulling back and holding so much in the front, but letting the neck stretch out and down so the back comes up. You are stopping your horse with your hands and pulling backwards. You’re going against every principle of classic dressage! Everything you are doing in this video, even though I have not finished watching it is not eliciting any relaxation.
Your horse is trying to tell you that she is Very uncomfortable with the bit and your hand. That’s why she is behind the bit and constantly opening her mouth. Be her friend, be kind and figure out the problem and fix it!
