It is amazing that this factory generates it own free and green energy, I hope the rest of Kenya would follow. The sun does no send you an invoice!
So next time you are drinking a cup of coffee in a café in Nairobi, London Tokyo, New York etc., always remember it's a whole chain of real hard work. Kudos to the farmers, and other folks who make us enjoy a cup of coffee!
Farmers are paid pea nuts
@@alexmwangi9933 this is life brother. somebody has to clean the toilets. yes or no ?
Wooh...Dormans...I used to work with them way back after high school, inda,Kampala Rd,thnx AT for taking me back down memory lane,I luv it,Dubai,UAE
Wow! What a small world.
22:34 @Afrikan Traveller, I like the documentaries you bring and I am your follower including the retirement home for your parent that you aired a while back etc. However, I just have one problem, whenever I am notified about your CZcams uploads, I connect my laptop to my home theatre. Now the problem comes when I concentrate then allover sudden your choice of music is loud banging sound. I would prefer a soft music in the sense that, your documentaries are educative. That means that your viewers like me concentrate alot on your contents. I feel that your choice of music should support concentration, a such, it should be soft. That's just my opinion as one of your followers.
That point is well noted, will consider it on future uploads
Well said...😄
True. The loud background music is a turn off.
Shame on main stream Media. This guy has amazing shorts .
It helps viewers understand the all picture easily.
Very professional.
Just read a complaint about your soundtrack. But I also come for the beats. Your music selection is what pulls me to your videos. As a Ghanaian I hate coffee, but the beat keeps me watching.
Yeah am surprised, my music is unique and totally different from the mainstream media.
We are talking about the VOLUME. Turn the volume a little bit lower to facilitate CONCENTRATION because this is a DOCUMENTARY channel. Thank you, from your loyal viewer.
Surely, there are Ghanaians who love coffee. Why do some people make silly comments?
@@esem135 he was speaking about his personal preference and and not about all Ghanaians. You can reread his statement once more to comprehend it fully
@@futurenature7037 I read and comprehended it. Maybe you should He says, as a Ghanaian....he should have just said he does not like coffee... I do not think being Ghanaian is a qualification for liking or not liking coffee.
@josh we certainly missed your drone shots, editing skills. Welcome back.
@afrikantraveller we love the new direction of the channel. Keep shaping our narrative. 💯 👊 🔥
Bravo les. Gars. Vous êtes de véritables professionnels. 💪💪
I'm simply impressed by the story. And that you Creators are producing these stories. AMAZING!
Greetings Afrikan Traveller, I am really enjoying the content and the back round music as well. Don't forget to add content on Patreon as well. Surely Kenya is exporting coffee to Asian as they are some of biggest coffee drinkers on this planet. I am aware that Starbucks and black owned coffee shops in Atlanta GA sells Kenyan coffee worldwide in their businesses. The drone footage a banging. Thanks for sharing King.
Am loving the direction we're heading as a channel. Keep doing the good work champ.
Today you added value to me on something I have been researching on. Thanks.
You most welcome.
As a Kenyan and resident of Ruiru, I'm very proud of this video. Having worked in a manufacturing company I would suggest or advise Dormans that every processing stage is equally important and contribute to the quality of the final product therefore Dormans needs to do proper machine maintenance at every stage of processing. The collection area and a few other stages were not impressive at all. Otherwise, I'm very proud and looking forward to when Africa will impose a law to prohibit the export of any raw materials but only finished goods like Dormans Coffee!! Until then we will never realize the true value of our mother continent.
This is great. Plan to get some coffee for export here.
hey boss🙌, you're becoming a masterpiece in features/documentary like content, particularly enjoyed and learnt alot on coffee from your visit to Dormans. keep up the good work bro! ☕☕

Insightful...... In fact, it is very insightful. Good job
the dormans factory is great. looks nice and very professional
Waooh very educative. Chasing brushes in us
Did lots of coffee harvesting in boarding primary school… our school had a coffee farm and the students provided free labor… harvesting and taking to the factory… hated it

Well, that sounds like Nescafé
Lol, I like multi lingual people. 15:55 my dude almost said 'kahua', but caught himself fast👌🏾.

I love my coffee strong and freshly brewed so I prefer the beans but I am OK with ground. I like the Dormans variety and Java. Instant coffee is a put off though.
great content! keep it up
Very educative contents. But is it possible to change the choice of "music" the one here is a loud bang that destroy concentration? Jaribu ka soft hivi for the educative contents.
That pointis well noted
AT as usual.. Thanks for the show.
Karibu sana
Excellent info..Very impressed. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Rada safi bro kama kawa
This reminds me my childhood, my father used to have this type of machine on Uganda in Mubende KASSANDA Ziwomeredde...but now its a forest. These days Uganda has no more machines like this its really a shame. The coffee marketing Board my father used to take his produce it was taken to Rwanda 🇷🇼 😢 😅 😕 🤣 😄 its really a shame indeed. Now Rwanda 🇷🇼 is the next producer of coffee.
I read a book titled’The black gold of Chepkube’- details the coffee smuggling from Uganda to Kenya back in the 70s-80s
Goood stuff. Do more Kenyan factories and companies.
Super from kwalitys coffee India Bangalore
I really like coffee 👌😍
Can the sugar of the beans during fermentation be harvested? Could think of several applications in syrups and use coffee liqueur that could use it.
Team Dormans
Awesome team
Bro, we need a p.o box for your fun mails loving your content champez
I think you should start taking school fees😆 too much educative I like it 👍
Nice shots bro
Thanks Bro
👍👍
haiya!! , Kwani have kila 'biggest in East Africa' things 😂😂😂. Continue surprising us AT.
Uganda is the second largest producer of coffee in Africa but i bet if we have such a set up anywhere 😢
Impressive factory. Some feedback Dormans. It would be advantageous if you made your capsules universal. I brought my coffee machine from Europe, it can’t break Dorman’s capsules so then I have to look for something different even bring back Nespresso or ask someone to bring it when they come. I cut out Dormans capsule and put it in the cup then pour hot water in it. It smells good but does not taste like it would if done by machine.
Coffee ☕...I can't leave without a cup of coffee... it's keep the brain active
Awesome content, thank you but the cameraman/lady must do some improvements
The company is still running bcs it is partnership with foreign investors if not the govt of Kenya could have liquidated the company thru their usual corruption which is the logo of our African leaders.
True
so many kenyan businesses running without foreign investment. such a weird mentality, always negative
@@TheTororist I believe you are in govt. But God will destroy all the govt officials that are killing Africa continent thru their selfish interests!!.
❤❤❤❤❤
just wondering why the mchana factory roads are not paved, buildings maintained etc...just paint the building
Thanks Afrikan Traveller, great content. Who owns the farm, the government?
white settler families, similar to delamere
Well it's not making losses so definitely not run by the government.
Dormans
Top 125 😎😎
Thanks Bro
Awesome content. Point to note, when doing the interviews, repeating what the interviewee says hinders the flow. You can research on how to carry out an interview. Good job lakini, from an avid fan.

Always on top Bro
I don't know why we import maize from UG and TZ yet we have fertile land..whats going on in Kenya?
Over 85% of kenya is arid and semi arid. More costly to irrigate than just importing the maize .
Get your facts right before commenting next time 😁😁😁
Kenya is more Arid than any other East African state 😁
Inaitwa biashara, two way street...
@@natureworld295 eeh, my guy you seem to be so negative about Kenya... your always hating on Kenya...why????
@@mpendakiswahili3053 he is from Tz, they have a pathological hate for Kenya.
Maize is not a profitable crop, many farmers prefer other crops such as Avocado (Kenya is now largest producer in Africa and among the top 10 in the world)

You most welcome
@@AfrikanTraveller I had no idea Dormans owns/ leases coffee farms in Kenya. How can the one you sell coffee to own the same commodity? How ethical is this? How do they help the poor farmer? I ask because Dormans is one of the companies who together with others set up coffee prices in the international market and not the poor small scale farmer who also does the work. They(Dormans) are major buyers. This almost brings tears to my eyes because my father paid my school fees using coffee renumeration. Today he would not afford it.
Only in Africa where we allow ourselves to be exploited.
I urge you to make another video on the plight of coffee farmers. This is not rosy at all.
From the colonial era not pre-colonial era. In the pre-colonial there was no coffee farming in Kenya.
pengine huko northern kenya kwa oromo near ethiopia. those ones have been drinking coffee for millenia
He said pre independence get your facts right
coffee has been in Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia for as long as we have existed in these lands
Iam yet to taste the highest grade from dormans. It seems they flood the local market with low grade coffee😔
High quality coffee enda Kwa supermarket, you have to pay more
The demon mzungu should give back the stolen land
You forgot to ask which kind of coffee they produce.
Arabica is the breed that majorly grows in Kenya
Hapo kwa Shamba najua ulikuwa una onja 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahah lazima nionje
@@AfrikanTraveller 🤣🤣🤣 nilijua tu 🤣🤣
Do they pay fair price?? They are the biggest for a reason….
You mean there another one bigger than this in africa?
Kenyans who bought the coffee farms from the settlers subdivided them into plots… Runda and Ruaka, 2 Rivers (clove farm) and some other Koinage farms in Kiambaa that they aren’t able to manage
What i thought it was Kenyans business really still but people those region have job which is good but still question mark.
from the precolonial era? heh? walikuwa kabla vasco da gama? 😂😂
Hapo kwa Da gama umechocha but wamekua for long sana

He said pre independence not pre colonial 👍

These are the farms that should have gone back to the landless Kikuyu folk after independence. Nothing to be proud of here.
