    Just a note top gun maverivk was up for 3 awards at the Golden Globes awards but never rec'd not even 1 bc of bias giving the 3 he won earlier before back to them. He didn't agree w the ppl running it diversity. So they so they screwed him w no awards, I hope the Academy Awards don't do the same. This guy deserves better w this industry w all the films he has made over his 40 years films & pleasing his fans. He's up for best movie best song & cinematography. His movie was #1 for 5 to 6 months bc he brought audiences back to the theaters after the pandemic. The movie industry was dying until his movie came along. Give the guy an Oscar he deserves for he dedication to film industry. Go TC!!!!.

      Award shows are a joke. And so are movie reviewer these days. Unless you push down diversity or make the alphabet people happy, you won't win anything.

    Notice how Rooster puts on his mask and lowers his visor as soon as Maverick starts talking to them? He knows how good he is and that he needs to be ready to for anything while Fanboy and Payback showboat and have to be bailed out to keep from being shot down.

      well you can bank, and then let go of the hands as (so long as the plane is trimmed correctly, which the f/a18 does automatically )he seem to have done since he stopped banking from the moment he lifted the hands up, so ye ig that actually is plausible

    Here is one of the funniest thing about the 2 Top Guns. in First Top gun GOOSE plays piano and sings Great Balls of Fire a 29 year old song. nothing to strange about that. everyone knows the word. in Top Gun Maverick GOOSE Son plays Great Balls of Fire now a 65 year old song and everyone knows the words? I dont think so

      Some songs in the military are songs that everyone learns because at some point, they partied with the more experienced crew, and then passed it down. Song in the Army never get old! We call them anthems!

    Hello! My name is Tony and I ruin movies! Even the BEST movie in the last 25 years!
    (It's just a veteran having a few laughs... don't get twisted!)
    1) Briefing
    You don't brief in the air. You brief in the BRIEFING room. All of this superfluous talking in the cockpit is one of the least realistic things about this franchise in general. I know... movie has to movie. Not documentary.
    2) Push Ups?
    No. No group of officers would bet push ups on anything. Maybe booze, maybe smokes if they smoke... maybe food. But never betting push ups.
    3) Nobody is in the ready room in full flight gear. That weighs a ton and would be hot as hell.
    4) Tinted visors?!
    Why TF are these dudes flying around on a clear day over Southern California without a tinted visor? No wonder you have to squint and can't see any f*****g thing. The clear visor is literally doing zero for you.
    5) The "Mystery" of Maverick and Rooster's relationship
    A relatively recent training death at the Navy's most prestigious school would be common F*******g knowledge. The film explicitly shows us that pictures of Maverick and Goose are EVERYWHERE. Not to mention that the events leading to the Goose's death would probably be day 1 curriculum. Literally all of these guys would have learned about this way back when they were at Topgun as students.
    ^) Eye contact? LOL
    These a$$holes are in a corkscrew dive heading for the earth, well below the hard deck. They would not be conversing/arguing and trying to maintain eye contact the whole way. Through the canopy and the through the G's they are pulling, looking at each other would be pointless. They would not be able to see each others faces let alone eyes.
    7) HOW TF is rooster here?
    We never see a single instance of good piloting from him. He loses every time he is in the air, he's scared to go low, he's scared to go fast... Hangman even says "Same old rooster" when he is easily defeated. Especially with the knowledge that Maverick is running this mission, how TF did they think it was a good idea to put Rooster out there? There are a couple of hundred Topgun grads throughout the fleet at any given moment. Anyone could have been assigned to this supposedly important mission.
    That's it for now! And yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

    • @YoWhatGoesHere
      @YoWhatGoesHere Před rokem

      You missed that not only would they no way in hell ever wearing their gear in the ready room like that, but that room is the nicest looking room in history. And it's not as bad as doing a full briefing on the main deck.
      But really everything they mess up can be excused except for the push-ups. I know it's not the old Navy anymore but there's no way they let him slide trying to make that bet.
      The one I think you might be wrong about is them knowing the history of Goose and Maverick. It was what 20 years ago? Also they wouldn't teach that. That accident was due to a flaw unique to the way the F14's canopy detached during an ejection sequence. The Navy retired the F14 in 2006 so there's no reason for that to be taught. Would they still likely know about Goose and Rooster? Maybe but Rooster did probably have discussions with the CO and he probably mentioned it wasn't something he liked being talked about. And there's little reason for them to know about Goose and Maverick if they don't know who Maverick is and it seems pretty clear that the Navy doesn't exactly like to highlight Maverick or even acknowledge he is still there when they don't need to.

      @argentaegis Před rokem

      @@YoWhatGoesHere It's also possible that the conflict was a reason to select Rooster. Higher has it in for Maverick (a not unreasonable thing) and this mission isn't their favorite thing. That's surely reading a lot into the little we're given, but by the point in time we're asking "Why are we using visors that let us see the actors faces?"...

    • @streakshooter2357
      @streakshooter2357 Před rokem

      5) The "Mystery" of Maverick and Rooster's relationship
      I dont think the relationship is a mystery. I think WHY the relationship is cold like that is the mystery to the others. Mav did try to torpedo Rooster's career in the Navy, but the other pilots most likely did not know that.

    • @YoWhatGoesHere
      @YoWhatGoesHere Před rokem

      @@streakshooter2357 No he didn't. They tried to make it be that he did but what they used as the way he did it didn't ruin his career. It probably did him a favor.

      @@YoWhatGoesHere I said Mav TRIED. He pullled Rooster's papers from the academy and set him back a year
      Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw: Why'd you pull my papers at the academy? Why didn't you just *stay out of my way*?
      Maverick: You weren't ready.
      Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw: Ready for what? Huh? Ready to fly like you?
