How to get a V Taper

In this video I'm going to talk about the V taper and how to get it.
One of the first goals of new bodybuilders is often to get that V taper of the torso - you know, broad shoulders little waist.
The thing that people dont realize about the V taper is that is all about proportions. If you make your waist smaller, your shoulders will look much more broad and musculer and your lats will appear much wider. If you have narrow hips, its a lot easier to get a V taper than if you have really wide hips like I do.
There are two ways to get a V-taper, the easy and fast way and the slow and hard way. Lets start with the fast and easy way.
The easy way is to lose weight and drop your bodyfat down to 8%. Here is how you do that:
    www.scoobysworkshop.com/6packa...
The slow and hard way to get a V Taper is to make your lats and shoulders more muscular, here is how you build your lats wider:
    www.scoobysworkshop.com/back.htm
... and here is how to make your shoulders bigger

The most honest natural bodybuilder on CZcams!!!!!!! The more I try to believe that he's wrong or only hear what I wanna hear the more I realize its the cold honest truth, and need to accept it. I have been and continue to be on my health journey for about 4 years now. I am down 110 pounds and have seen and continue to see tremendous unending gains and muscle due to the many educational workout videos you have provided over the years. If i have questions or doubts I just count on your free videos to improve my overall health. True lifesaver coming from a guy that has been fighting obesity over 25 years now. Thank you scooby1961.

One thing Scooby forgot to mention this time:
HOW IMPORTANT BODY POSTURE IS to look the way you want.
The way we stand determines greatly how broad our shoulders look.
He explains this in detail in one of his older posts, just forgot to list it here.
Anyway - thanks for posting this, it is great as always....
Too bad Scooby does not reply on my e-mails, since I still have some questions I wanted to ask him : (

Cool video. I gotta hit shoulders hard tonight. I used to be obsessed with the "V" and deep breathing pullovers really help to expand the ribcage too I think. Expecially if you're younger. Big ribcage, small waist, bigger taper...and of course giant shoulders and lats help.

Notice how friendly Scooby's response was versus how facetious yours was. It would be interesting to see most people at the local gym being as friendly and informative as that.
I wonder how many more people would be able to endure the initial motivation hangover when beginning.

  • @dorianking168

Scooby, an idea for your next video is the teaching to deal with low self esteem. I know SO MANY people who do too much weight (beginner or advanced) because they think it makes them look strong which is not true at all, due to their bad form. I think an icon like you can talk to your viewers that EVERYONE needs to start from low weight and don't be embarrassed cause if you keep at it, you will eventually be able to do higher weight WITH proper form.

Heavy low/mid rows are important too. It builds good thickness and depth to your back and you can flex your lats intensely at the top of the movement. I always try to flare my lats out when doing back on every rep.
A big dense back adds another dimension of V taper especially in a T shirt. If your back and shoulders are causing your shirt to be snug in the upper body but baggy around the waist you get a good V look in polo shirts too.
Row heavy, 6-8 reps with good form for a thick back.
