- Showing you how I do water changes quickly and easily on my 220 gallon display tank. Big aquariums don't necessarily mean spending tons of time changing water as long as you have the right equipment.

Awesome tips Steve. I'm definitely going to look into the quick disconnects. The 220 looks great as always.
Very clever tips Steve thanks for sharing
enjoyed the video Steve. pumps are a must have. mine is from lowes and is meant as an outdoor fountain pump. cheap and works well.
Not heard of this system before; thanks for showing it.
excellent video thanks for sharing
I had forgotten how much hard work water changes where haha now I only have the saltwater nano I don't really do many water changes so it was fun to watch how you have adapted everything so you don't really have to do much 🤗
I bought a python at the end of last year. It was something I pick up in the store a dozen times but put it back. It was worth the cost given the time savings. I also picked up the hook to help with filling the tank. Great tips on the disconnects and like the "crazy" idea of the separate water line for the python. Multi-tasking is the way to go :)
JRPy Fish-n-Game its a great tool you only need to buy once, i replaced the shutoff valve twice do to leaking ,the one thats close to the tube ,and then just bypassed it completely, i just shut off the sink when im at the level i want
Thanks Steve
Cool tips Steve. :)
RATED PG! TY . CICHLIDS and water change info! 🐠🚓☑🔧
Great video 👍I'm due to do my first water change in a few days.. Is there something you can buy to get the water up To the right temp before it goes in the tank? Or will the fish be okay with tap water going in then getting to temp with the tank heater?
Beutiful tank bro
I hang my hose outside my house and the gravity is sufficient to drain quickly but in comparison my tank is much smaller lol. But I don't like to waste water so I start siphon manually. BTW I like the quick disconnect attachments 👍
nice video. I do have a question. We have gravel on the bottom of the tank. When we did a water clean with the tub to clean up the bottom of the tank, we lost 3 fish last time, due to ammonia I think, so we scared to clean the tank now... Have not change the tank for 1 month...We would like to clean the tank but scare to kill the fish. Could you please give me some suggestions? Thank you.
That's a beautiful tank. What lights do you have?
What kind of gravel do you have. Have a link where i can buy? Thnx
Great, I had a similar problems. I brought PVC drain underneath the tank to drain by gravity and then had 2 pipes come back with clean water hot and cold to T type connections right to the tank full change was about 15 m. And I would just seat and watch. Drain tru 1 Inch PVC w valve thru the whole in the aquarium and water comes back from the back of the aquarium.
Hey man, Which kind of pump did you use to take the water out, where can It be purchased?
What pump did you use? And where did you purchase it? Thanks.
what are you using for lights? pretty sure you mentioned it before but please remind me lol
what is size of your tank and which colour light s use
How old are your fishes? You're one of the best youtuber.
Very how long do you change your water
another GREAT video! does using pump run risk of clogging if it accidentally sucks up any gravel?
+D Leal yes, potentially, but I always let it sit in the rocks
Hey Steve you have a link where you got that garden hose disconnect ? thank
+Somchit Phol got it at Lowes
Hey, what lights were you running at this time? The cichlid lights or the beamswork? I've been looking for a spectrum like this for my cichlids for a while.
amzn.to/2yiOha6
Thanks man !
You don’t use any chemicals after putting new water ?
So you don't add any salt to the aquarium? I thought cichlids were a brackish water fish and preferred some salinity.?
Love that light Steve! What light is that? Thanks!

nice video. what type of lights do you have?

I wanted to ask a question on evaporation, i have a 55 gallon with two hob filters a air stone and heater at 82 the tank is covered,im losing about an inch of water in a week,is that normal or a leak that i cant seem to find
+Todd T do you have it covered with glass tops? If so, you should make sure that the plastic strips at the back are as snug as possible.
Steve Poland Cichlids the only opening is for the hob filters and there very close to the plastic
Todd T sometimes bro... the small droplets that scatter during the inlet of hob filter. Goes away. Hence the change in gh or kh due to evaporated water should be negligible. But do a few tests to confirm this. For you to take the decision between using RO water or normal water to top it off.
I'm sure you've been over this countless times, but what light is on the big display? I love the blue in it
amzn.to/2tWD8so
Do you have a video that shows what lightings you have for this tank Steve ?
Aquatic Haus amzn.to/2tWD8so
Thanks Steve
what's the substrate called ?
Dude. We do,water changes almost identically. ´Great minds? Lol. I've even done the inch comparisons with these multiple ways and also with multiple pumps. I've noticed the Gph ratings on the pumps are criminally over rated. Maybe they test them on a slope or down hill lol. I'm obsessively always looking for faster pumps and faster way to do this. Your snap connectors for the garden hose is a new tip amd idea I had not considered. Thanks for sharing.
+Cichlid Soldier I think they measure pumps at zero head height and advertise that. Can't blame them but it can be frustrating.
Do you use any snails?
dude that is one fast water change.. i use a python and and regular siphon with the hose going out of the window and still finish on average of 45 min..
cool
ladne akwarium ale dlaczego nie masz tam roślin? :)
What pump are you using?
+oval291 it's from harbor freight
filling a water tank with sink water. lmao. man you fresh water guys got it too easy.
What kind of pump is that Steve?
+Miguel Cintron harbor freight special, not sure of the model number. Works great though
Steve Poland Cichlids thanks Steve
Hey Steve. What color is your background?
Painted flat black
Steve Poland Aquatics Thanks Steve
how much is that inch of water in water volume?
7.5 gallons, roughly
when i do water changes with the water change shit i always get an entire tank full of bubbles...
Idk about having clean water running while draining your tank. I personally think that it is counter productive.
+REEMIKS the clean water doesn't run while the tank drains
la luce blu determina un bel pollice in giù.... che porcheria!
Adding untreated tap water is safe?? I would think you would need to remove impurities from the tap water with a conditioner and also get the water to the proper PH before adding that amount to the tank, no?
I bought a 50ft python and my water pressure is so bad it doesn't create a suction, so be leery if you're aware your facet is super weak lol
TheMusiclover500 thats one thing about nyc,we have high water pressure here, you might look at ataching a pump,i have one that came with three diffent size hose connectors, not expensive at all,its actually a pond pump,if you find one you like, see if you can find the same model on amazon, youll save a lot
So all u guys talk about auto water changes how u do that when u need to treat water
+ellis2lavene if you watch the video I did about it I explain it in detail
mmmmm hayyyy daddy
