  • Vinyl Storage Solutions (VSS) are a relatively new start-up with some innovative ideas on how to improve the traditional vinyl record sleeve. From dual-pocket outer sleeves that enable archival storage and easy record access to stunning clear inner sleeves, VSS has brought new life and innovation to the record sleeve market.
    In this video, I walk you through the different options, from dual pocket, tape-sealed sleeves, to dual pocket with flaps. Plus: a crafty way to combine two sleeves and completely seal a gatefold record while still retaining easy access to your records.
    The inner sleeves are pretty cool too, with the highlight of the show being the new clear inner sleeve, which looks stunning when combined with colored records or picture discs.

    I've been using VSS sleeves for about a year. I like 'em and I'll keep buying 'em. I don't think I can say much more. Thanks for the good content and good luck to everyone trying to protect their records!

    Nice video! Concise but highly detailed as well.
    I"ve been using Vinyl Storage Solutions inner and outer sleeves for about three years now. I learned of them from 45 RPM Audiophile channel.
    OUTSTANDING products.

      Thanks for watching. The new gatefold sleeves that have been released since this video are a big improvement. I'll be reviewing the box set sleeves very shortly also. Happy spinning!

    I got a hundred pack; 50 3 mil jacket sleeves and 50 rice paper inner sleeves for 25 bucks from Invest in Vinyl. They do the same thing without the flaps. It’s perfect for me.

    Thanks for the info! After nearly 50 years of collecting vinyl, I'm getting ready to enter the next faze of conservation (after culling out all the bullshit stuff). Also, short of a sealed cabinet, these sleeves look like the best way to keep the horrific allergens created by old album covers to a minimum.

    Jacket contains sleeve. Sleeve goes in Jacket, record goes in sleeve. Outer sleeve protects Jacket which is containing sleeve, which is contains the record. The VSS Dual pocket protects jacket while providing pocket for sleeve/record.

    Great video, can these sleeves be purchased from within the UK?.. Would be better than ordering from Europe or Canada.? Thanks

    Just a quick question I'm guessing your also from the UK. Did you experience any import/duty fees as these guys are based out in Canada.

      Hey, thanks for your kind words. I did at first, but I think Juno are now also stocking these in the UK. If you can't find them, I can check in with the owner to see what the current UK stockist situation is like.

      Hi since your video VVS do sleeves for gatefold! I found them about 18 months ago. I wouldn’t buy any other now. VVS are the best on the market. You can get them now in the U.K. through Mint Sleeves. Mike from VVS has license Mint Sleeves to sell the sleeves for Europe. Hope this helps!

    Hello, with time, do you prefer resealable outer sleeve or outer sleeve with tucklable flap ? Thanks. Nice video !

    • @rodgerjohnson733
      @rodgerjohnson733 Před rokem +1

      I prefer the tuckable sleeves the others resealable with sticky strip to prevent any cover accidentally coming into contact with the stick strip.

    • @baronsaturday951
      @baronsaturday951 Před rokem +1

      Yes, you right, I bought tuckable sleeves for 12", 10" and 7". I just had problems with 13". The sleeve and records are too loud and the flap opens.

    I can't see these inner clear sleeves anywhere on their website, those with a cut are not available as well

    • @soundmatters
      @soundmatters  Před 2 lety

      Hey Sebastian. It seems they've consolidated their inner sleeve offering, so mostly it's just the rice-paper inners from here on in. Or at least as far as I know.

    I am not so sure. I mean it fully protects the record from dust and provides hassle free quick access to the record but I don’t to think having the record “exposed” outside the art cover is a good idea. The art cover cardboard sleeve exists for a reason. Not only to protect the record from the dust but is thick enough (in good productions) to protect the record from friction with other surfaces etc. Don’t think that the thin see through sleeve (rice paper) is good enough for the job. Great review btw.

    • @soundmatters
      @soundmatters  Před 3 lety

      I hear your concern, and thanks for the kind words on the review.
      The VSS inner sleeves may help with that as they're much thicker than the rice paper ones. Ultimately, dual pocket isn't for everyone and it's worth checking out their standard single pocket sleeves instead; the material quality is just as good, and they're a solid 4-mil thick.
      Happy spinning and enjoy the music.

      A lot of people store the vinyl outside the cover to avoid ring wear on the artwork. I know a lot of people who sell vinyl LPs and use the mail to deliver it will ship your record with the vinyl outside the cover. They think it's better doing it that way but I don't remember the reason why.
