Vinyl Storage Solutions are awesome! Great quality outer sleeves and they look really clear. My entire collection is covered with them definitely worth the money
I really like Vinyl Storage Solutions - especially they have the dual pocket and also the special single sleeve that can be “chained” together for tri-fold albums like the Who’s “Tommy”
But I also buy from Amazon for most inners and outers - I used to not like the sealable outers, but now that is all I use and they are super clear and cheap

Always use the standard “rice paper” inner sleeves - BE CAREFUL with the clear inner sleeves, I have found that they interact with the vinyl…not good.
I've been extremely happy with the Vinyl Storage Solutions outer sleeves. I prefer the dual-pocket folding flap myself (I'm sure the resealable are good as well)--I like the convenience of being able to remove the records without removing the jackets.
I wrap mine in cashmere.. sure its expensive but my lps are worth it

Vinyl Storage Solutions are my go-to. I really wish they would create a trifold sleeve. Sure, I can just use a single sleeve, but I would really like a trifold version with flaps. I'm surprised that no one offers one. I have quite a few albums now that come in a trifold format, especially with releases from Mondo.
Yeah, as trifolds have become more popular I’m surprised no one has come out with a sleeve for them.

Good point on the 13" sleeves. The Rhino High Fidelity only fit in the 13", like the Analog Productions.
I probably get 10 records a year so I don't even run out of sleeves and I use both outer and inner especially if I want to resale in the future.
Have you tried the MA Recordings inner sleeves? I saw a.couple of reviews on them so I ordered some and so far so good. The VSS double pocket with the flap work best when you use them with the flap on the side where the cover opens instead of the bottom. That’s how I’ve been using them.
I buy all my sleeves from Vinyl Storage Solutions and the Gatefold ones they sell are awesome! So many albums are gatefolds these days! Going back to the 80's, I was using album sleeves from A&M and they are still in great shape today when I pull out an older album. It's only been since I have started collecting vinyl again the past 3 years do I protect the jacket as well. Cheers
I haven’t tried their gatefold sleeves yet. I’m afraid that I’ll like them so much that I’ll end up resleeving a bunch of my albums. 😂
@@TheVinylDen They have the 12 inch and 12.75 inch for those bigger cardstock gatefolds and yes, you will love them and you will upgrade a gatefold or two to these sleeves .... which are made for gatefolds :)) Cheers
Great video....was wondering whether you use any specific outer sleeve for your box sets. I have a bunch of box sets from AP, Mobile Fidelity, and others, and I am not sure which outer sleeve would be best. Any recommendations?
I haven’t found any that I love, but VSS does have some bigger sleeves that will fit smaller box sets (UHQR or MoFi size). I think they go up to 1.25” thick.
Mylar (archival) outer sleeves are expensive but it remains a perfect choice for protecting the standard 1 LP jackets.
Vinyl Storage Solutions are the best available. I’ve tried them all and have now changed my entire collection to VSS…

I use the 4ml mofi sleeves..Very protective.
I liked the 2mil sleeves better at first, but it seems like the 4mil sleeves hold their shape better over time and don’t stretch out as easily.

I "don't play the jacket" but when I'm paying $40+ which I consider to now be a premium, I expect to get a premium product. So I want the jacket to look great too. Especially with new records.
Definitely! Records are an investment in entertainment, and since it’s become a pricey investment I want to keep my jackets in pristine condition.
I really like vinyl storage solutions. But my question is how do you get a gatefold jacket and 2 lps to fit in the dual pocket? On mine there is just enough room for a regular jacket and a single lp.
Use the Vinyl Storage Solution gatefold sleeves
They fit snugly into the sleeve, but I don’t think they are too tight. If they are hard to slide into the back pocket I’ll use a bigger 12.75” sleeve. Also, sometimes sliding the jacket into the sleeve sideways (with the resealable flap on the spin) can give a little extra room in the back pocket for two LPs if it’s a tad too tight.
What kind of sleeves can i use if i still want to use the inner sleeves that come with the album. f.e. all of my billy joel albums and my hotel california album have great designs on the inner sleeve but they’re not antistatic
You definitely want an inner sleeve, like shown in the video here, just slide em in front of the printed inner sleeves. I outer bag em, then put the printed sleeve inside the jacket and store the anti static BEHIND the Jacket sleeve.
I’d highly recommend using some kind of antistatic inner sleeve, even when the album comes with nicer looking printed inner sleeves. The antistatic sleeve will provide better protection and will help keep that albums static free.
Hi, I have a question. I want to put my album in the back of the jackets but I'm afraid that outside of the jacket may not be enough protection (too thin)?? I'm new to record collecting, am I being paranoid🤷🙂
Mine are almost all behind the jacket in the plastic sleeve. (Gatefolds I tuck inside because they’re easy enough to remove and replace without jacket wear) I’m pretty careful with my records and so far no problems. Also, I turn the inner sleeve sideways to add a little more protection from dust and debris finding a way on to the vinyl.

If you use an inner sleeve to protect the album, then there should be plenty of protection with that and the back pocket on the dual pocket sleeve from VSS. I have almost all of my albums stored that way.
I keep my records outside because it prevents seam splits.

Would love to try their crystal clear inner sleeves (have wanted to for years), but 22.95CAD for the sleeves and 70CAD postage to Australia. WTF?
Yeah, shipppng prices to Australia are just crazy!
@@TheVinylDen They should fix it. It wouldn’t cost them that much to ship a few sleeves to me and I would pay them reasonable shipping to post that unique product to me (there is nothing like it on the market). I want to put my pic discs in them.
I think I might be the only person who doesn’t like the VSS dual pocket sleeves. I had a lot of issues with ring wear on the sleeves (records were fine), which was annoying and they tend to stretch over time with snug fit albums. I also worry about possible warping when the fit is snug. Ultimately, I ditched them and switched to the 2mil resealable sleeves, which look better to me and are much cheaper.
No, you aren’t the only one. I have a friend that tried them once and hated so much that he gave them to me.

I dont use Mofi. I found a source from asia. Larger and easy to slip in for gatefold. 😊
