I hear ya, I'm all about physical media! Records, cassettes & CD's forever! I KNOW it's "convenient," & I use Bluetooth myself (rarely) for the same reason! But I'd rather OWN my music! Great vid bud.

i love "grassroots" and the vinyl variants look cool, but just adding a few tracks probably won't get me excited enough to buy them. oh, well. if you're interested, rancid moved up the release date for its limited edition (1,000 copies) royal blue self-titled 7" from december to now--i was very surprised to find it in my mailbox yesterday. it was available for preorder in may and seems to still be in stock in their web store for just $12.99 plus shipping. it is shown as light blue online but is truly royal blue in person. enjoy!

If you can find a 1973 UK pressing in decent condition you won't go far wrong, they're not cheap but still many around, and you don't have to get the solid triangle version any early 70's is good.

Pretenders 2008 vinyl " Break Up the Concrete" has cool packaging, check it out. By 2008 i had stopped buying cds completely, and i was hardcore vinyl, and this was a nice surprise

I have a Duran Duran 7inch from 1995, " perfect day" that has a scratch and sniff cover, smells like cherry. Madonnas album Like a Prayer has an incense patchouli smell

I have an OG copy of the Britny Fox album. I love that album! I agree that they would've been bigger had that album been released a few years earlier. The new Wayne Shorter is one I'll be snagging this weekend!

I already have IA's Walk Into Light, TAAB 2 and Homo Erraticus (2 LP version) on vinyl. Only interested in getting the fabulous The Secret Language of Birds and the equally fabulous Rupi's Dance from this vinyl set. Not interested in getting the Divinities on vinyl. Hopefully the titles from this set will get released individually somewhere down the road. This box set is way over priced! Already have the Wayne Shorter and the Alan Parsons pre-ordered (waiting for a price drop on the AP Pyramid box set).

Lackluster again but I did order the Alan Parsons Pyramid. I didn't want the whole boxed when it came out. Also, I picked the Van Halen For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge it was reduced to $60.00 on Amazon. Couldn't past it up. I do have the earlier boxset though.

Rhino are releasing all the Genesis titles over the next few weeks, with 4 due out on Aug 23! I am in for 2 of them, Foxtrot and Genesis.

Great review and thank you. I would like to see these AIO manufactures incorporate a SUB output. It's not overkill if paired with a smaller sub and the bass fill on low volume gives a nicer experience.

Interesting that as an example you took Led Zeppelin IV. Incidently, the version on CD, CD 19129 sounds terrible to me. That was the early version. The remastered version, CD 82638 has a much better sound. From that point of view, the mastering is much more important than the audio format. And there is no "CDs sound bad - vinyl records sound great" type kind of arguments. It really depends on the mastering. Love both formats, CD or LP, but CDs are much more convenient for me.

Not as glamorous but my copy of Pink Floyd The Wall was a Chinese bootleg, but this was 2002. Also, Rage Against the Machine Renegades and some others included imbedded MP3s of a second free album

The absolute worst part about streaming is that it doesnt compensate the artists fairly. This has lead to many up-and-coming musicians needing to support themselves with day jobs, which in turn, takes a hit to their musical output.

Definitely gone back to CD and Records ( Don't call it vynl). That's a big peeve for me. Anyway yes like you in my car it's Spotify ( Since new cars removed CD), or I wouldn't stream at all. Streaming does help to discover Records that otherwise are never heard on radio these days, thanks to Simon Cowell

It is without doubt the worst thing I’ve ever heard, and I include in that various records from Ken Dodd, Terry Wogan, Rolf Harris and William Shatner.

I have 1300 vinyl records and over 2000 CDs. I have a very nice stereo system. I do not own a car. I have absolutely no reason to stream anything. Plus, they screw the musicians.

Started buying records in the seventies, then cds, then Spotify. No problem. I want to be emotionally attached to music, not to the way I am listening it. As for Spotify sounding worse than physical releases, that is just audiophile paranoia.

PVC outer sleeves were headed for the recycle bin. I was a victim of these. I'm happy to say that i have recently slowly replaced my Connie Francis US 45'S and a few Albums that got 'cloudy' on the vinyl...no damage to the sleeves either.

The terminology surrounding music formats has always fascinated me. Specifically, I've often wondered why people insist on saying 'vinyl records' when, in fact, the correct term is simply 'records.' The addition of 'vinyl' seems redundant, as if clarifying the material composition of the medium is necessary. But when did this linguistic trend begin? Was it a marketing ploy to distinguish analog from digital formats? Whatever the reason, I find it quite curious that we've adopted this phraseology. For me, it's simply a record - a timeless vessel for music that transcends the need for extraneous descriptors.
