- Season of Dawn has brought some great gear. Today I will be reviewing the saint 14 sundail scout : Patron of lost causes. I grinded over 60 of them to get the top rolls to test. I go through all perks and give perk combo recommendations. I discuss its performance in PvE and PvP. There is also a sleeper PvP roll that I don't see too many talking about. This 200 rpm scout is up there as one of the best as far as feel.

I think I'm one of those "Full Auto Guys" you mentioned. Definitely enjoying this gun pvp or pve. I'm not that good pvp but I brought this on 980 this week and it is great. Don't have a vorpal roll though, might try to go for that next time.

I think the Season of Dawn weapon frames are awesome. The player has complete agency and once you have all the obelisk leveled up and the season pass rewards, it feels way more rewarding than the Vex Invasions from last season.
Plus having 4 free weapon rolls per sundial run at max obelisk ranks is really nice for getting the weapons I want.
Really hope they decide to either keep it in the game or bring it back at one point.
Yeah it's a really awesome system, just with the weapons were more desirable.
It is a really neat set up this season but it was kind of a pain in the ass setting them all up. I'm not going to lie I kind of miss the vex invasions. Hope they do more invasions of all different kinds of races of characters in the future.
Ikon i feel like they shouldve kept vex invasion on the moon, as if we we dont need more end game content ..

Love your reviews, keep them coming. On mine I went for arrow Head break with rapid hit explosive payload. Adding a counter balance to arrow Head gives it 100 recoil direction and makes it feel more like midi and I love it. Very good combo.

Great video and explanation. I love being able to farm for these sundial weapons. Currently trying to get the lost cause with rapid hit and explosive. Just got rapid hit and tap the trigger on a travelers judgement and love it for pvp

I farmed for that same roll just to specifically use in gambit or crucible. Seeing as 75% of the time when people invade I seem to be killed by a super it comes in handy. And if it's not a super it's truth lol. I've been sniped across map with leviathans breathe more times then I'd like to admit too.

Great review. Went to farm this from the Nessus Obelisk after maxing it to 11. You can activate an extra perk slot on these weapons that makes it like farming double attributes. In about an hour I had all the combinations I was looking for. Now to try them out.

I got full auto explosive rounds, i like the combo. I get tired of having to pull the trigger ever single shot.

My favorite roll as well. I also have Full Auto/Osmosis and Rapid Hit/Osmosis (Still prefer the FA/Osmosis roll) that I use with Nezarec's, combo'd with Graviton Lance, Hammerhead, and top tree Void, which is a pretty ridiculous and fun load out. Sometimes I switch it up and run Hard Light/Steelfeather with Ambitious Assassin/Osmosis, instead of Graviton Lance/Patron, but I'm a sucker for those Graviton Lance explosions. Edit: I play on PC

My RNG was pretty good with Night Watch. I kept two: both have rapid hit, one with explosive the other with Multikill Clip so I'm looking for a Patron with rapid hit and osmosis. I have one with rapid and Vorpal but the mw is reload. I'm greedy and want that with a stability and one with range. (I play PC and PS4). Your videos are reaching next level. Great content man
I luv the in depth analysis of thi s weapon. I really didn't think much of this weapon when I first used it. Come to find out I didn't havea good roll. I rolled one with rapid hit and osmosis with a stability mw and yeah its beast mode!
I've been grinding to try to hit Rank 92 as fast as possible. 2 Perks you can swap between in the 2nd slot is a huge deal. Thanks for sharing details about Elemental Capacitor too.

The very first one I got has elemental capacitor and rapid hit and it almost feels like I'm playing on pc (on ps4)
@@regp5 I don't have rapid hit with elemental capacitor, but now that i can choose 5 rewards after every sundial, it won't take long to get one. lol

For me this scout is the briefcase to the suit and tie, it just puts in work. I took mine into Iron banner & regular crucible, and had a blast.
Great review, bro. I have full auto, explosive payload roll, and I'm hunting the rapid hit roll. This my go-to counter against top tier snipers in comp. I've been seeing a lot of snipers in freelance after 4k glory. This is my answer. I try to make their lives miserable with that flinch, because without it, these enemy snipers don't miss.
I got a full auto + explosive payload and it's is one of my fave guns by far. Still farming them to get the barrel and masterwork i want but even w/o the perfect roll it's hella fun to use.
I'm loving this scout rifle so far. I bounce between a field prep/osmosis roll for pve and a rapid hit/explosive for pvp. Feels so great and is such a fun weapon.
Very first roll I got was Rapid Hit Vorpal Weapon. I love it. MELTS Supers. Second one I got was Rapid Hit Explosive Payload. Lucky RNG. I love it.

Having allot of fun farming for this scout as I have Arrowhead Break, Drop Mag, Full Auto, and Explosive Payload with a reload MW giving me a 100 for recoil and 94 for reload speed. Farming has been the new endgame for me lol and has broken my Glimmer bank at 3k for Time lost bounties which is far faster than linking the Obelisk to the Sundial and running the event.
The explosive payload rapid hit looks nice! I loved the Purpose trials lightweight explosive payload scout from year 1.

This scout reminds me if the Vision of Confluence, which I loved!!! I've farmed several of the Patrons and I'm stuck with full auto, explosive and vorpal!!! Been doing great with those perks!!!

Love this scout, mine dtopped with polygonal barrel, flared Maxwell, rapid hit and explosive payload with a range masterwork. Haven't put it down in about a week.

My favorite so far (Xbox) is Full Auto + Osmosis has Handling MW, HF rifling/Polygonal rifling, flared magwell. In PvP, it does well & then throw a void grenade for a little more damage..
However, another spicy roll I have is Rapid Hit + Vorpal & Osmosis, steady rounds, HF Rifling/Polygonal Rifling, Range MW
I do have one more with Explosive & Elemental Capacitor but those are paired with Grave Robber which I don’t like on this particular weapon. I’m going to try for a Full Auto paired with Osmosis & Explosive payload. Then I can easily swap between those.
It’s really nice having the season pass (now rank 106) unlocked the Two perk rolled weapons. It’s much easier farming your favorite weapon perks!

Got a Steady Rounds/Rapid Hit/Explosive Payload/Handling MW roll that I am really loving. Barrel is Chambered Compensator. Usually go Jade Rabbit but used this for Iron Banner exclusively and it was really fun and pretty deadly to use.
I've got an Accurized/Moving Target/Explosive Payload Patron and I can't put it down. In PvP it torches and in PvE with Anti-Barrier Ranger it trivializes Barrier Champions.
I have one with accurized round, full auto and explosive payload, stability master work, and i really love it ! I love scouts with payload, it remind me Burning Eye from D1.

After 70+ drops between bounties and Sundial rewards, I finally got what I was looking for. Rapid Hit, Explosive Payload AND Osmosis. Perfect for PvE and PvP. Also has a range masterwork.
For Gambit, I have a roll with full auto, Vorpal Weapon with a stability masterwork. Easy for invading, clearing invaders in super and, with a boss spec, I get more bang for my buck when holding down the trigger against the primeval. Love this gun.

Great vid bro. When looking into this weapon I found a rapid hit, ER nightwatch in my vault. Used it for the iron banner quest and was pissed I never used it before lol. Very nice of course.. this weapon looks better. I'm curious what perks you're rocking on that side arm? Rapid hit, tap the trigger?
I only got one patron of lost causes & I'm very happy with it. I looked up my roll & it's not a god roll but I love it anyway. It's got chambered compensator, tactical mag, full-auto trigger system, explosive payload, & a range masterwork. I've been using it in both pvp & pve.
Yea I really like this weapon a lot. Only grinded for it about 45 min. and got two that I kept and now use all of the time. Both have explosive payload, steady rounds, handling masterwork but one is full auto and the other is rapid hit. It's really hard to choose which one I like better as both are terrific. I think I'm going to go back in and see if I can get similar roles but with a stability masterwork!!! That would be absolutely amazing!!! Either way this weapon is fantastic.

I got 2 great rolls. Rapid hit + explosive + Reload MW and a Full auto + Explosive + Steady Rounds + Range MW
I really love my full auto one. I'm on console so the full auto is very nice and there's no need for rapid hit cause the reload speed already is very good.

“Now have” they started out in the energy slot. It’s the kinetic ones that are more new (Shadowkeep)

Each of those scouts came with the benefiting barrel to increase range and stability
Just a note, in case you didn't test it.
Osmosis will actually make Chromatic Fire fail to trigger while the weapon is dealing energy damage. I tested it on some random mobs on Titan and in the Hall. Tossing (or consuming) a grenade gives it the energy weapon bullet trails, and no headshot explosion. Swapping away and back, explosions will trigger again.
I have a few of these, and the rapid+explosive roll with flared magwell and range masterwork. I haven’t been able to use anything else. Probably my current favorite kinetic.
I love my explosive/full auto. Flinch hell and my vorpal/full auto and vorpal/rapid hit are tons of fun as well.

Haha I have the same nightwatch but patron looks as good as well. I feel my nightwatch is more for the range and patron for more close combat
Got the same role, do you guys find using unstoppable rounds help the weapon out in pvp? Just looking to enhance it further with a good mod.
@@captindo Unstoppable won't do anything in pvp.
Your best options for pvp are either counterbalance or a targeting adjuster mod.
@@BigDatsquatch theres no stagger/flinch in pvp for the unstoppable but It still load the explosive shot. And does AoE too.

bro had to come back to this video..i watched it yesterday..went and acquired the weapon frame...hit the kingship dock and banged it out easy peasy and bam bro first try fluted barrel,accurised rounds,rapid hit and explosive payload...now being very familiar with the night watch..aka,,the flincher i call it..i knew exactly what the potential would be and man..you were right...gun is amazing,,ran with it for about 4 hours to get to know it...thing is just dam accurate and flinchs everything hard.
I'm gonna get this as soon as I get my Gallant (fusion rifle) godroll. Kinetic scout with full auto and explosive..., beau ti ful .
Hey CoolGuy, I noticed you didn't mention it during the video, but remember your Vouchsafe review from last year where you mentioned the Rapid Hit/Full Auto roll you got? I have one as well and decided to give it a whirl in the new meta. Turns out it's *ridiculously* good.
Was hoping PoLC could roll the combo, but alas...hopefully we'll get a 200 RPM Kinetic that can.

If you played D2 year 1 and are struggling for a good roll 200rpm scout, I recommend pulling out Purpose, the trials of the nine scout rifle. Still solid
My first Night Watch has served me well: rapid hit, multi kill clip, steady rounds. But now I want one with explosive rounds to be like my year 1 nameless midnight.
My very first roll was rapid hit vorpal with stability MW. I play PS4 and can't put it down. Does great in PVE and pvp😁
I got one with full auto and vorpal. I love it. Might try for explosive rounds as well. I know once you get high enough in the season ranks it gives you a 3rd perk on sundial rolls as well.
This scout with vorpal is really good in master night-falls since damage dealing perks are not very useful or just unnecessary in them. It’s chunks barrier shields in like a few shots and there are more major boss enemies than you think in those strikes. It’s a weapon to sit back and clear a whole room, pairs really well with divinity since you don’t have a big damage dealing special.
got my prefect dad roll after just 3-4. Arrowhead/flared magwell/fullauto/explosive/stability MW on controller. Arrowhead puts the recoil up to 89, flared puts reload at 73 (basically feels like constant outlaw); lay on the trigger and the gun does all the work
Are you having plans to review any other guns? I'm interested in Breachlight sidearm and the Steelfeather. I have a breachlight with Osmosis+Demolitionist, great synergy for PVE, and a Steelfeather with Subsistence+Multi-kill clip which is great for both Pve and Pvp. However when I've used both they didn't really feel good to me... Which is a shame, but maybe I just need to spend a bit more time with them.
I love this season as much as the menagerie season. Such cool weapons and they look good too. Fun for both PvP and pve
I'm curious as to whether Elemental capacitor can grant the same amount of stability as firmly planted. I have a vouchsafe with firmly planted and steady rounds and a stability Masterwork and I'd love to have a kinetic version of that.

I've been running full-auto w/vorpal weapon for Sundials. I maximize the damage by adding the anti-barrier mod, then match the singe with my subclass to burn down the barrier mobs.
Got 1 with opening shot and rapid hit. Love it in pvp
It’s funny to see the phrase “God roll” in a CoolGuy video. In the past, CoolGuy said that he uses the phrase “perfect roll” instead of “god roll”. Honestly he’s the reason why I say perfect roll instead.
Neither of them have much meaning anymore, its more a buzzword for views than anything. God roll used to mean a roll in which not a single node on the weapon could have a better perk.
