Man, what it would have been like to have a dad like yours growing up Billy. You are one of the luckiest guys alive just for that right there. Having parents, especially a dad that takes the time to be a part of their kids lives is absolutely priceless. I’d of given anything to have that growing up. We built hot rods and raced as well but, my dad wasn’t ever around. So, I had to learn on my own and rely on friends. Watching you and your dad brings tears of happiness. 🙌🙌🙌

Really loved this video. I didn't have a dad to teach me how to wrench on cars growing up. I was lucky to have an amazing grandfather and my step-dad who came into my life as I turned 15 and got my first car. It was a 68 Mustang GT. He showed me how to replace all the steering and suspension along with the oil pan. I miss those days. He's not able to do much anymore due to health issues but he still gets a huge smile when he sees the decks I build or houses I've remodeled. I thank God every day for the work ethic they both instilled in me growing up.

Great stuff, Bill. Happy to see you stepping up to help out CJ, who always seemed like a class act when competing against Billy or Tommy. THIS is what old school street racing is about: friendly competition, but somebody borrows a part from another competitor, cause he just broke something and the race goes on. Then, win or lose, you have a beer with the guy you just ran.
I have watched you for couple years . I would have to say this was one of my favorite videos I have seen from you two in a while . Don't get me wrong most are good on all channels but I love this one . You are both lucky to have a relationship like that . Sometimes rocky but adapt and overcome . I'm 42 and wish I had the relationship you two have with my ole man . But everything in a learning experience . Watching you helps me be a better father to my two young kids . I know the feeling, we used to have 7 second bracket cars, everyone got sick of the work and the travel to just run the cars because we don’t have a local track, we’re back in street cars and slow bracket cars and the stress is gone and we’re having way more fun. 👍🏻

It’s funny how that works. Like the deeper we get into whatever racing we do. The more expensive it becomes. The more work to just go do it. And the higher the expectations. Then you go back to a simple street car and it’s like the early days again. Just having fun. No expectations. No hassle of loading a trailer and prep work. Just cruise to the track. Have some fun. Cruise home. Makes you wonder why we get so deep in the first place. But no way to go back now. Lol
And competing at a high level is so much fun when it goes well and your winning and the cars working. But when it goes wrong it just sucksss. Where as I take my street drift car to the track. Have an issue. Hardly turn any laps. And it’s fine. No sweat of my back. I didn’t just spend a week of time preparing and 15 hours of driving to go do it. It’s just interesting. Me and my buddies that have been drifting and competing for a long time have the same conversation all the time.
But I don’t know if we would appreciate the simplicity of street cars if we didn’t have the experience of the higher level stuff. It’s like growing up. You just wanna grow up till you do. Then you’re like damn this kinda sucks. I miss having no responsibility.

I try to watch my daily dose of Old Mans Garage at night. Love the dad son racing. Im glad i kept my mustang streetable, and fun at the track. Love the videos guys.

I just recently switched my car over from a TT LS drag car, to a banger LS street car. No power adders as of yet. Just basic, and simple. It was getting too hard to compete with guys like Mork and all them up here. So I went back to street driven. I gotta say, I get what Billy says about it being fun all the time. Yeah it's slow as shit now, but being it's a banger, it still feels fast on the street.
I'm sure I'll miss the all out violence of boost, that's a whole different type of fun. But like Billy said, only for a few seconds.
I think we're gonna see a whole new trend with more real street, and cruise type cars coming out vs all out race cars. The world is getting way too expensive, some guys just can't afford to compete at the highest levels. So, instead of quitting, they go back to the basics.
You can only go as fast as your Pocket Book, you meet more people on the Streets than the Track

And to me, that's not what hot rodding is about. So I've gone back to the basics as well.
So having a ride that's multi- faceted is what I'm doing now, not concerned about just straight drag racing.
Road race, and mile or better is far more fun.

I gotta say you just gotta love the Motorsports community. I mean who goes out of their way to help competitors do well? I love how there’s that fellowship among competitors. I mean I used to truck pull and it was the same there. We’d get together the night before a pull so we could make sure everyone was ready to go. Another one of those reasons that I really like watching Bill and everyone involved in this channel. Everyone doesn’t have to do everything right they just gotta wanna help and take some direction. Way to go guys. Looking forward to seeing Tes and Tony to. I wanna see how fast that stick shift mustang is gonna get.
At least Billy has a good looking, good sounding car with that mustang cause it sure isn’t ready to win any races yet, but that’s ok, he’s been there before.
Sure hope you and Tony are able to help CJ out. Is it time for him to make the conversation to turbo this winter? The wrenching part of a nitrous car is not gonna get any easier on him. Maybe we could set up a gofundme to help offset the cost of a turbo transition this fall/winter. Let us know what we can do to help CJ Bill. It’s hard to sit and watch someone work so hard and not get the positive results they deserve.

Awesome , love the street car content . My goal for my 70 is to run 10’s and drive it around wherever I want . Run big tires for cruising , race on a small tire . Figure that way my gear ratio should be money on 33’s for around town . My plan at least .

What really funny is when two girls pull up beside me thinking some young stud is driving until I put my window down and they see a 66 yr old man behind the wheel and the expressions on their faces is awsome!, lololo!.
