    Thats why they make rain caps for truck stacks

    @salsa1034 Nope, they were " W " for the 4x4 and " D " for the 2 wheel drive. Also a " RAM " is 2 wheel drive and a " POWER RAM " is 4 wheel drive.

    If you don't want to mess with rain caps / coffee cans, ete... Another good idea is to drill weep holes in the lowest part of your exhaust pipe, thereby allowing any water that gets into them to leak back onto the ground.

    Wow, messy! My trucks bed got filled up with 2-inches (doesnt drain well) of water last night during a big storm and this moring I found a bunch of large water beetles swimming around in their...who knew?! They liked it I guess.

  • @1958johndeere620

    It just has a updated stock turbo. Basically took the stock compressor wheel and housing off and installed a bigger one to flow more air. Look up Gillete Diesel and check out there 60mm GDS H1C turbo upgrade kit. The injectors a 6 hole injectors with .016 size holes. The stock ones for this year truck are 6 hole by .009. They are about 300 % bigger then stock.

  • @spartus09
    @spartus09 Před 14 lety

    Just a quick question johndeere, what turbo upgrade did you use and what injectors? I'm new to diesels; looking to buy a 92-93 W250 myself.
    Thanks

  • @bellofello1
    @bellofello1 Před 14 lety

    just wondering why you didn't/don't drill a little 3/16" hole in the lowest point of the exhaust under the truck to let it drain. That's what I did with mine and haven't had anything like that happen.
    Well unless you like squirtin some water after rain haha

  • @SuperTurboDiesel2
    @SuperTurboDiesel2 Před 11 lety

    I used to have a Cummins with mitre cut stacks on it. Always kept coffee cans on the pipes whenever she was parked. If not cleaned up right away, that exhaust gunk (carbon, oil, water, etc mixture) is caustic to your paint job. Not to mention, it's a bitch to clean up after. One of the main reasons I never have any vehicle with an uncovered stack. All of my farm tractors stacks have rain caps (flappers, or whatever you call 'em) on them unless they are curved, and then they get the coffee can.

    I love the black smoke of a Diesel.

  • @1958johndeere620
    @1958johndeere620  Před 11 lety

    I built the stack system and dumped the pipe exactly in the middle of the cross bed pipe. I don't like delayed smoke so I did my own design.

  • @KingOfTheClutch
    @KingOfTheClutch Před 13 lety

    @1958johndeere620 a few people around here have drain plugs in theirs, drill a hole, tap it out and put a bolt in, when it rains, take the bolt out and let it drain.

  • @skeeter1012
    @skeeter1012 Před 15 lety

    put coffee cans over them when you can tell its about to rain. helps out alot. even if they are angled

  • @RollinCoalsVLOG
    @RollinCoalsVLOG Před 11 lety

    how to you get the smoke to come out of the stacks equally, with most of the stack kits you can find the passenger side gets the smoke first, because there is less pipe

    • @6.7ryan87
      @6.7ryan87 Před 5 lety

      Run a single pipe all the way and up to the bed, then find the center and run a split on it and make sure the stacks are spaced equally

    UNLESS its COLD reving like that has no effect on the engine. diesels are designed to be work horses.

      Make a small hole weld a bung to it and get a drain plug. That way there's no leak and you have a drain
