Lowrance as a company fails in instructional videos and how to install, this is the best out there.
I've watched the vids from Lowrance, this is by far one of the best intros into using your HDS. Especially the set up and the scale view from the side imaging, the perspective of the actual size of the structure you maybe looking at. Awesome job.

The whole thing about turning off the different options is super! I actually set up mine like this the other day and could almost see the individual bait in the ball instead of just a clump

Hunter, I have been surfing the internet since I bought my boat with Lowrance Electronics back in July. I have been trying to figure it out and have done okay on my own but a ton of my questions are answered here. Awesome how to use the tool video. Thanks for making it for me. Just bought a HDS unit and knew how to use generally, But this was a great video on things that are hard to find out how to do in the not too detailed instruction book but are extremely useful in real life fishing. Great Video.
I have been using the Gen3 for about 2 years.......this video was the very best! I learned a lot from this that will really help me understand fishing offshore.

I just found this video and its top notch! I think I've seen every other Lowrance use video and this is by far the exact kind of set up, use, and application video on CZcams. Thanks a million. Hopefully you can show more videos with different terrain (rocky bottoms, cover and laydowns, and shallow water fishing, etc.) and locating fish on the graphs. Much appreciated.

i love the way you told how to use this thing I got xi5 I run hummingbirds but im putting lowrance on front for trolling motor an I know nothing so this video was awesome im learning this ole dog learning the new tricks lol

Great video. One other thing I do is have the menu on the right side of the unit automatically go off after a set amount of time because I don't need it if I am not making changes and with it off it frees up extra space on the screen making the other views larger. There is a place on the unit you have to select for it to turn off automatically, otherwise it will stay on all the time.
hey fletcher tis is an awesome video that taught me a lot,but I had a quick question. I run the same exact setup as you with the hds12 gen 3.mine are networked together. I have 2 separate transducers that came with the kit. a totalscan and hdi 83/200-455/800hz.i want to run totalscan on my right unit for sidescan and downscan and the hdi 83/200-455/800 on my left unit for my traditional sonar,but when I select totalscan for my right unit it saves it on the left unit also and when I select the hdi transducer on the left it saves it on the right side unit.do I really need to have these units networked together? I was wondering if yours were? and if yo only run 1 transducer? or two separate ones? any help would be appreciated. thank you

Hello Hunter.I have just had an HDS 12 3d Structure scan fitted and my boat is out of the water for the next few weeks. Can I still go through the set up process even if my boat is out the water? Thanks !

So I have the new May 2018 update and the totalscan transducer. I have the totalscan transducer checked off but when I got into network/sonar/depth its giving me a invalid. I’ve changed to local from global and still the same invalid. My depth has 3 lines on the top left corner of the unit. I’ve turned on the temperature the same way but the depth part gives me a invalid issue?
