Pen: Montegrappa Zero in Ultra-black (M) Spoilers: I have since gotten a black ink. I'll make a video for that, too. Not sponsored. All opinions my own.
I recently got my first Montegrappa too, the Brenta. I agree with the stiffnes of the nib, which I wasn't expecting. Mine was also a bit dry on the up and sidestrokes but it's getting better with use, perhaps the EF nib wasn't the perfect choice for me. Your Zero looks fantastic and can't go wrong with turquoise!
I just inked this pen again yesterday, with Diamine Writer's Blood and it's the perfect combination! I hope your pen experience improves. Maybe you can get someone to tune the nib for you.
I would have used Diamine Deep Magenta, but knowing you better now, I did one of these 🤦🏻♀️ when I saw your pick. I think this pen looks sexy! Hope you are enjoying it!
Deep Magenta would have been perfect! I had been leaning towards similar colors and I can't remember why I picked this one instead. I think maybe because I usually do the same combo in my Lamy 2000 and it felt too same-y?
Monterappa does some good boxing. I would go with a really dark blue, or blue black, after of course, I first ink it with Serenity Blue.That is a nice blue ink and that is one black pen.
Congratulations! It is a lovely pen. I have about four Montegrappas, and I enjoy them. However, most needed some very light tuning of the nibs and one needed more extensive work. If the nib continues to feel scratchy at rather normal writing angles, you might check for a minor tine misalignment. My experience with this brand is that they don't always write well out of the box
Oooh nice a stealthy sleek pen. Great ink choice too. I think I'd have gone with porthcurno cove or Diamine marine or even a bright pinky purple. Also I think Lake Superior or maybe just lake Michigan? Have a wonderful day 😊🎃
I would also have filled it with a bright colour. Probably Wearingeul's Jane Austen Pride and prejudice or Australis Hydra by Robert Oster. The best thing about black pens is that they are so versatile. They can be stealthy and mysterious looking, but be filled with any ink colour (not that it has to match when I use pens of other colours, but...)
Lol is it Leonardo with the too short clips? I like them (just ordered another, actually), but now I will picture them with little ties. 😂 Your new pen is nice! I only have one Montegrappa; I was surprised by the weight and stiffness of the nib, but it feels like good quality.

Since those other pens are dead to you, I guess you need my address, eh? The other good news is that it ('it' being my address) is in the mitten✋where we have lots of great looking lakes. Also, lots of peninsulas. More than two as a matter of fact. Even more than three. Even more than four. Yowzah! Lots of lakes and peninsulas 🤭. Enjoy that beauty!!

Do those instructions tell you if the pen will fill with a 30-days ink sample? :p The cap is fairly heavy, but... can you post it on your pinky finger? (which you did later in the video, yay!) If I didn't have a black ink, I'd use a blue ink. I made that popping noise for you when you popped that ink bubble. You're welcome. I know you said, "Santini," but my brain changed it to, "Utini," and I starting thinking of Jawas.

@@MariaRosseau Absolutely, the best two combinations are Japanese flexible nibs and German stainless steel nibs.
