I enjoy your reviews!!! Appreciate your efforts Blake on behalf of the fountain pen community. Nice pen!
Thank you Michael! I appreciate it.
Amazing video and pen, Blake! Thanks for sharing!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks Eduardo! I appreciate it.
What a lovely pen! Thanks for the review.
My pleasure!
The Extra Ottos are certainly my favourite Montegrappas, and also amongst my favourite pens. I have four of them: Lapis, Zebra, Malachite, and Shiny Lines. They write pretty well, with none of the nibs being truly spectacular. In fact, my Zebra M nib needs a good tune up. Having watched your reveiw I feel like I must get to it soon. Thank you!
Wow you have a beautiful collection. I would love a Shiny Lines, maybe in the rounded Extra model. If you aren't that happy with the way they write, I do think they are worthy of professional tuning.
I just ordered a custom version of this with Mammoth ivory body, and gold plating... $4000 US.. and I'm not going to lie.. I can't wait to get it but that's twice the price of my best one from Montblanc! I got it gold plated btw, so the sterling silver isn't an issue.
Wow that sounds amazing! I'd love to see pictures when you get it.
@@BlakesBroadcast Sure.. if you have a email you can share, or if not, maybe I'll make a video of it myself?
I’m extremely fond of Montegrappa. I own some choice models that I adore to death. My runaway most expensive pen ever is their Queen: Night at the Opera that I bought in a flight of pure desire and madness. Their Fortuna pens are just all-round great, not least because they are the most affordable.
If only Montegrappa made their own nibs in-house. That would be just spectacular. At least they tune their mainly Jowo nibs rather well.
Blake, you have a truly classy one in your hands. Felt like grabbing it while you talked about it through the video. The design and aesthetics are highly appealing.
The ratcheted piston filler is so cool. I have it on my lilac Montegrappa Montegrappa pen.
Why can we not sometimes ‘heart’ videos like these? 🙂
Hi Sajjad, The Queen Night at the Opera is an incredible pen. I too wish they did their own nibs, that said, I like their nib designs a lot and I like that they use ebonite feeds.
I am not sure why you cannot "heart" the video.
@@BlakesBroadcast ..There is always only the thumbs up ‘like’ option. I meant that as a commenter I wish there was a heart symbol to ‘love’ the video instead. But that isn’t an option for the viewer/commenter on YT videos.
I have this pen in the "shiny lines" celluloid. Montegrappa IS a fantastic maker and those big nibs are nice. I LOVE mine. Just look for a deal or try to find them 2nd hand.
Hi Lane, I too quite like the shiny lines. I believe that version sold out first. I would have probably went for it if it was available at the time.
Very nice pen. High quality, premium.
Unfortunately, I think that I would not be able to get groceries if I bought one hahaha
Haha, yeah they aren't cheap even at a significant discount.
Lovely celluloid indeed. Premium. 🤑🤑🤑
It's the only modern celluloid pen left in my collection.
