Love the pen but cost to much for my budget!

Just learned about this pen from you, it is gorgeous.

That was my school foundation pen. I really like it. Comfortable, reliable. Nowadays I prefer the AL-Star, because having the Safari design in metal is perfect.

great review, i am thinking of buying this ink because they dry faster than other inks. I have the grey and the black from that series and was wondering about that brown that is very nice and neutral it looks like.

My Lamy CP1 is in deed a very stylish multipen 😊 And light also...😊

Hi Blake, I'm a bit confused about this Tomoe River paper. Is it designed specifically for fountain pens, because it doesn't seem to perform very well with ink. The ghosting seems excessive, and would be distracting if both sides of the sheet were utilised. The notebooks are priced comparably with other general purpose, quality notebooks, but would it be a waste to use Tomoe River paper with biros, gel pens, rollerballs and fineliners? Many thanks...

Hi so the converter comes along with the pen insdie the box or did you had to purchase that seperate ?

I recently bought a Montblanc #149 notebook, which uses thicker (100gsm) paper and has bigger size (roughly a4). Out of all the fountain pens I have used, the bleed through are definitely reduced but sadly I also found quite a lot feathering when using almost all gel pens which is very disappointing and I honestly think a Midori notebook plus a normal leather cover > the Montblanc notebook😢 but they are almost equal in prices.

I got mine a few days ago and like it very much! It has the same excellent design and solid build as your other notebooks. I mourn the old Tomoe River paper and had not found anything I liked as much, but this paper is a good replacement. Lines are my preference, so thanks for that option. The line spacing is perfect. And the price is good too!

I haven't gotten a chance to review the Blocker notebook I purchased recently because I'm still filling it in. Same with the Bank Paper Notebook, but the production and quality is top notch. This looks fantastic and I can already tell I'll probably be buying a few.

Wonderful product that I would love to use. Only the shipping costs to the Netherlands are as high as the price of the notebook itself. 😢

Thank you for this comparison - this was very useful for me! The railroading tendency of the Scribo pen was a big surprise. I guess, it has some connection with reduced line widening (of the new paper type), maybe caused by a tiny bit higher water repelling property of surface treatment.

Looks like a great notebook. I bought one of each of your other types of notebooks a few months ago (still have the hand written note you sent along with them) and they're all fantastic. So good I'm almost afraid to trash them up with my bad handwriting. I'll for sure be getting one of these when I'm in need of another notebook.

Thank you Blake and the Paper Mind for creating this notebook; I received mine in pre-order (a surprise!) a few days ago and I love it!. Technical details and producer of the paper not withstanding, the pages immediately gave me the feeling of the paper I was using years ago: crinkly, crisp, white, smooth, def. smoother than Cosmo Air but toothier than the original one; my Hastil (M) glides on it, other EF nibs experience a bit more feedback. My last two TM notebooks were a Kanso Noto (68gsm) and a Nanami Paper (52gsm) , both very nice but this one takes the price in the current market! The hard cover is great and I especially thank you for introducing a RULED!! TM note book, something that somewhat I was never able to find before. I noticed that the lines are so light that once a page is covered in ink they are barely visible and I absolutely love that effect. I can't start using it for real until 2025 but I have a feeling I'm going to get another one before Christmas. PS: Without degrading the nature of your channel, sometimes a review of other items in the Paper Mind inventory could help. The Zenith stapler is fantastic but it's hard to undertand its charm just from the website. I'm glad I pulled the trigger on both items.

As a lefty, I always appreciate notebooks that lay flat! I love the idea of the guide too.

Please consider other sizes like B6 and if possible 5mm grid.

I had a subscription with Field Notes for the last year and Log & Jotter as well for slightly over a year. I would agree that these notebooks (and Field Notes) are not fountain pen friendly, so if that is what someone is looking for, this will not be for them. However, I use these notebooks for rapid logging to augment my bullet journaling and for having in a pocket for quick notes and To Do lists, these work absolutely fine. I am more selective in my paper choices for longer form writing and for my main bullet journal notebook, but for having in my pocket on a daily basis for notes, I love the individual and fun designs on both these and the Field Notes that I have collected. To each their own and I'm glad there are so many notebooks out there for this community!!

another spot on and honest review. they came out with a few limited edition models a few years back with a piston fill mechanism and 18k phoenix embossed nib. I have the speckled olive model and am happy with it. The other models don't impress nearly as much. Perhaps it was a Montegrappa-backed venture that lost steam and will eventually die and re-resurrect as the "NEW NEW" Tibaldi... I love Italian design though...

I have the 52 gsm version of this same notebook and the bleeding is extremely disappointing, even with a medium nib. I ordered this and I hope it performs better. If not, I'll go back to Midori even if I don't like the very cream colored pages. This is a very expensive notebook and they could have put more pages in there.

Nice review as usual. I have owned one of these for years, but don't use it much because I need XF nibs at work. I recall a comparison between this pen and the music nib pens from Pilot and Sailor. The Platinum came out on top. If you can get Platinum Mixable Aurora Blue ink, try it in this pen--it's beautiful.

Music nib are for writing musical scores. Here is a video that shows what music nibs can do and how they are used.

This product does not fit the definition of "paper". So what did we expect there to find?

the 2 holes 2 slits situation of Century 3776's music just makes it seemingly more refined than any other music nibbed pens

Good review. I've had one for a while, with the translucent blue body and it's lovely. I'm not really a stub/italic writer so I don't use it a lot but I very much appreciate having it in the collection to use when the occasion requires it, or I fancy something different. It's a lovely pen.

I also love the flared and flattened shape of the nib which is unique. Their older urushi and gold flake models are out of this world with a click cap (rather than screw cap). The depth of design makes the pen look oh so elegant as well as the minimalist decoration - very Zen!

1. That 123 looks much better than in some other pens. 2. That surely looks like Treasure Island behind you - are you in the Folger building or what?

I like Music nibs. I have four different ones: Platinum 3776, Sailor, Franklin-Christoph and Taccia. The 3776 Music nib is my runaway favorite of them all.

Thanks for the review! A couple of years ago, I _REALLY_ wanted a music nib, as I prioritize high quality nibs over having multiple unique looking pens with the same nib. I thought that the Music nib, specifically on the Pilot 912, would be glorious! However after watching several over the years and knowing that I would just use the pen for writing quickly in my journal, I don’t think that it would be able to keep up. It’s an absolutely stunning and beautiful pen, but I’m glad that I haven’t bought it yet, as I want to try it in person first, before I commit to purchasing it.
