They just didn't use them because they wanted to feed their darling Allen. For the o-line, it's pretty hard to protect when Allen keeps taking 12 step drop backs from shotgun. He's so far behind the line of scrimmage that the line is basically punt protecting. Defenders just have to bull rush in a straight line to get to him instead of curling around and then into a pocket.
There’s just no way to justify this move. They either plan on getting a rookie, which means Zach is just gonna be a backup, and you already have a better backup in stidham. And so they just gave up a 6th, even if it’s not a high pick it’s still potentially valuable, for nothing. We paid a late 6 round draft swap for a position of need. This is dirt cheap. If he has a spark, payton will find it. Hes had terrible coaches in his first 3 seasons, no line, and zero direction. @@KingRusss Honestly, im ok with it. We needed at minimum another qb in the room. If we dont draft a qb this year in favor of adding depth or filling other holes via best player available, its a better long term investment. We are really strapped on both money and draft capital. We paid a late 6 round draft swap for a position of need. This is dirt cheap. If he has a spark, payton will find it. Hes had terrible coaches in his first 3 seasons, no line, and zero direction. Worst case he winds up a backup to the qb we draft. Bedt case, he shows up in camp and gets hinself a starting job and proves hes a 1st rd talent instead of bust.
