  • The Los Angeles Lakers were on track to snap their 10-game losing streak against the Denver Nuggets. However, they blew a 20-point lead (a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter) and dropped to 0-2. Jamal Murray struggled throughout the game but hit the game-winning buzzer-beater shot to seal the Game 2 victory. Colin Cowherd reacts to the Nuggets 10th straight win over the purple and gold. The Philadelphia 76ers continue to struggle against the New York Knicks, giving up eight points in the final 28 seconds of the game. However, Joel Embiid remains confident, believing his team will 'win the series.' Colin breaks down Philly's ongoing struggles.

So nice to see MPJ coming into his own. I think it is important that mid year, he made some noise, not complaining, but saying the other role players can generate offense and the Nuggets changed to basically say "fair point" lets get you the ball. LeFlop can go 45k, 14k and 14k and he still will be overrated. Rodman, Bill Russell, Jerry Lucas, et al didn’t just lunge toward the ball. They knew approximately which way it would bounce when it left the shooters’ hands. I suppose he means If you’re talented enough to make the nba you can be a great rebounder, but it is tedious work that won’t get you a max contract, so most players don’t care to practice it.

It is not always everyone else. When it comes down to it the stars have to put up the shots and/or make the plays to win the game. Always been an Achilles Heal for LBJ. Of course over 21 years he has done it here and there but he cannot be relied on in the 4th quarter. Whether it was Kyrie, Wade, or Ray Allen, Lebron is not the “killer” like other greats. It’s always about his supporting cast didn’t do enough. Funny we don’t say that about all the other greats.

No, Colin. Murray and Jokic get theirs in the flow of their offense, where Lebron and AD have to press to get theirs. This is exemplified by Murray and Jokic scoring in familiar ways each game, not having to bomb away “haymakers” to hit their averages. When Jokic and Murray do hit haymakers, they score in the upper 30s and 40s, not lower 30s and upper 20s. Did you ever consider that Lebron doesn’t make his teammates better by as much as you think? Agree with knicks take. Was a bulls fan in the drose years so i recognize all the thibs hallmarks.
The lakers don’t have less talent than the nuggets.
I can accept they have a team that better FITS jokic, than the lakers do in terms of fitting lebron. Bc that roster construction is perfect, and lebron NEEDS a closer bc he isn’t one.
But jokic doesn’t have a top 10 teammate in Davis. Who besides Murray can drop 40 when jokic is out on the nuggets? Maybe mpj if he gets hot? Cause Davis, delo and reeves can and have. The nuggets r really playing 9 trust 7. So they have a slight edge on bench cause the lakers play 8-9 trust 6. But it’s not overwhelming.
You also ignore the fact that jokic was made to work hard by Davis all game and didn’t run out of gas. That crazy 3 by mpj down the stretch was started by jokic sprinting out after a lebron layup and pushing the pace. His conditioning is incredible for a guy that size. Something he worked on cause it was bad when he was drafted. Lebron especially lollygags in the regular season. And if u want the Father Time excuse it’s tough on endurance. He has no chance competing in a marathon with the nuggets.
Yes lebron and Davis get gassed but not bc they r carrying more. But just cause Murray and jokic are better conditioned and are true closers. And they force Davis and lebron to work hard all game. They can’t sustain it.
