Denver Broncos trading for Zach Wilson is a 'perfect situation' | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc - Sport
From being a New Yorker and just watching and reading stuff from various people I don’t like how Zach’s career turned out as the NFL and also the media have a BIG hand in ruining these young QB’s for sure! Zach had no offensive line, no separating receivers and not even a running game to help with pressure off of him or play action where his strength really lies! I hope he gets a chance to improve and then show out cause he got a raw start in the Jets!
To your point, Wilson torched our ass when the Jets came to Denver last year and beat the Broncos. I know the NY media can be hard on anybody in sports but I think if he is given a decent OL and a decent running game he has the potential to light it up with receivers that can get open. Denver has receiver that can get open so we'll see. I'm willing to give the kid a chance.
Sean Payton said Nathaniel Hackett did the worst coaching job ever then took essentially the same team and won twice as many games. Now Payton is upping the ante and taking the QB (Zach Wilson) that Hackett could not get to produce, just to prove a point that Hackett is trash. 😂😂
Really good analogy
@@hrebec97didn’t Hackett go to Denver and beat the broncos? This roster is also worse than last season and guys coming back like Sutton are sitting out …
Yup. This gives us an opportunity to test the waters with Zach Wilson & also if it doesn’t pan out; we can see this as a “Tank for Shadeur Sanders” kind of season. We go Offensive line or try for Bowers in this draft; perhaps pick up Rattler as another option to compete.
If it doesn’t work out we should be in decent position for Sanders.
He was ass before Hackett tho 😂
If denver is on the list his daddy says he can play. Considering the turd of a franchise theyve been with a coach that ONLY won bc of bounty gate, that's unlikely. @@Sinistatnt
Zach had moments of brilliance in New York. I hope Sean Payton can bring those out of him in Denver and then he does well. Interesting experiment.
Glad that Zack Wilson can go to a team that will make the effort to revive his career.
QBs should stop reporting to teams like the Jets that can't develop these players.
Teams like the Jets are where careers go to die.
If they don’t report, they don’t get paid….. this is a business at the end of the day.
Most aren’t playing for a legacy. They need that money.
How many chances can a team give a guy? 😂 the jets gave the dude so many chances.
He had 3 entire years to make even a slightly good impression. And that was on a jets team who actually tried to contend unlike basically every other jets team over the past decade
Yeah let’s put ALL the blame on the jets
Nah at some point a dude is just a bust. He wasn't in greatest situation, but was never consistently good or great on his own either and contributed plenty to Jets being bad.
Zach first game, in NFL, in Sept. 2021, on the road, against Carolina with top defense and Zach throws for 250 yards and 2TD's. He earned every penny that day. 3 wins in 2021 was wonderful in spite that Jets defense let Zach down in 2021, giving up 29 points per game. Zach throws better than Bo Nix and Penix Jr. and runs as good as Nix as well; so Zach still top 5 QB in any draft.
He is also a few months younger than penix and Bo👀
Always assuming these rookie draft picks are way better than they probably are. I don’t see anyway a qb outside of the top 2 or 3 starts over
Stidham or Wilson
The media is too lazy to do 5 minutes worth of research & look up the fact that Payton ignored three rookie hotshot QBs in 2006 when he signed Brees instead. That was 2006 Brees...who most people thought was at the end of his career after a major shoulder injury only 3 months earlier & with one good year on his 5 year resume. In other words...Payton doesn't like rookie QBs, let alone having to draft one in the first round.
I have been a long time Jets fan, who was completely delighted when the Jets drafted Zach Wilson.
At the time Robert Salah said words to the effect of "You won't have to put the Jets on your back, we will do what we are supposed to." If only that actually occurred.
30 Years of pathetic Woody Johnson ownership in which Quarterbacks were NEVER developed properly, one regime after the next, with this the latest fiasco epitomizing the TOTAL lack of leadership he has consistently accomplished.
Joe Douglas, a former OL himself, shouted out how the OL would be fixed when he arrived five years ago...NEVER happened.
The OC's play calling: 1st Down run, 1yd. 2nd Down Run, another yard. 3rd and 8 Zach now you can throw... and here comes the D lineman with their ears pinned back through the porous OL... with Zach always running for his life.
The Fans absorb all of this and howl Zach you SUCK!
The Jet You Tube creators abandon all discernment in favor of pandering to the mob and their clicks.
The National press get their cues on the short bus.
When Zach had a pocket he made so many thrilling plays and throws and after everything else, absorbed more drops from the assorted lame ass receivers than damn near any other QB in football, not to mention endless boneheaded drive killing penalties from veterans and rookies alike.
All of this as a 21 year old, 22 year old, 23 year old. As if Woody Johnson, Joe Douglas, Salah, the OC's and other coaches EVER accomplished anything near as much as Zach at that age. They all hid behind his skirts like the pansies they all are.
Zach was by far the most likeable Jet, enduring intense negativity, holding his head high and soldiering on.
Sean Payton has done far more than any of the incompetent Jet Management and Coaching Structure. Of all the QB's he could have pursued under the present Bronco circumstances, he has the Judgement and wisdom to see the wheat from the chaff. Zach will flourish with Sean Payton and the Broncos will have years of success with those two together.
Yes.
I watched Zach highlights and he is not a bad qb just needs more development in his game. He have a strong arm and his accuracy is good too especially in college so Sean sees something within him so if we don't draft a qb this year, Zach will be the starter its crazy but what else can go wrong?
Well that’s what happens when you watch highlights. They show the best of the player. But in games he is making bad reads, bad decisions, throwing to absolutely no one.
Yeah I know Zach is a beast and he has swag and if you watch his lowlights some of them throws are good plays smart plays and also receivers dropping the pass I think this is perfect he gives his receivers opportunities to make plays by throwin 50/50's and takin chances that's the quarterback I want
@@trentwise3762given he was top 10 in on target% for QBs who played double digit games, that wasn’t true this year.
Its his confidence and his head.
Why does the Broncos GM George Paton still have a job??
I honestly don't have a clue...we are a laughing stock of a team
Because he has an eye for talent in the draft but as a Denver fan ill say his struggles are Contracting players and Signing old vets to big deals in free agency which hasn’t worked out for us but man, Ps2 Javonte, browning, Cooper were all players he drafted in his first year with denver (2021) turned out well for us
Because he's great at drafting, He took a shot with Wilson. He swung on a vet QB. I don't think anyone really knew how shitty Russ was at QB and as a person, but the Seahawks. The biggest thing was the contract given to Russ. WHICH was forced by the owners not the GM. That's why he still has a job. Hope that answer's your question.
Keep that same energy when we suck next year
I’ve written it ad nauseum but I watched Zach Wilson’s Pro Day (PD) multiple times several years ago. It was mesmerizing. He really reminded me of Aaron Rodgers and from a passing perspective I can’t think of anyone who’s as close as Aaron, at least mechanically. At least Zach was but I think he lost his Mojo. But I’m really glad he was traded now because the clock was ticking. If he went another year in New York he was finished. Now it doesn’t mean I think Zach will succeed. But if he gets the support and encouragement he needs he MIGHT get his Mojo back. And if he does it could bd impressive. I’d put it at 3 to 1 though that he becomes a star only because of what’s happened. (I’m a Broncos Hater and I’m not really a Zach fan although I thought he was fun to watch a few years ago. So I don’t really have skin in this game.)
Much respect
Jets ruined him more so than him being bad. He’s really as bad as the Jets handled him. So it’s unfair to keep bullying him into the ground.
None of that matters. If he doesn’t have it between the ears (judgement, quick & correct decisions) it doesn’t matter
Dead on. He had one of the best, if not the best, Pro Day I have ever seen out of a QB. He absolutely has tools in spades. Hopefully, Payton can get him straightened out.
Aaron Rogers .. are you high ?
I saw someone on Bleacher say that Wilson is one of the biggest busts of all time which is insane. No accountability for the team being so dysfunctional and doing a terrible job supporting him. And he wasn’t even that bad Jesus Christ
Agreed and I can say the same thing about Trey Lance though we don’t have enough of a sample size as people assume way too much on him!
I would love to see Payton revive Wilson's career just so the Jets would look foolish. I'm actually happy for the young man to get a new start in Denver. So the Jets have Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor on their roster now. Let's hope Aaron can produce this year while the hunt for the next franchise quarterback continues.
Payton is the conductor of the train wreck known as the Broncos. He ruins qbs. He's not reviving anyone's careers
@@DanielCalzacorta-ip2xe How about Drew Brees?
@@charlespapineau5428Hackett produced Arron rodgers who’s better than bres
One this people don’t realize nowadays is it takes time to develop these QBs Zach Wilson is a better Alex smith as of there first 3 seasons smith came to KC and developed and became a pro bowler smith in his first 3 seasons throw for 19 tds to 31 picks and 4500ish yards.
People are mocking my hometown team for this trade. But taking a flyer on a number 2 pick. for late round swaps, and they pay half the bill.
Love watching these guys have to cover and spin a story they said would "never" happen in someone trading for Wilson.
The entire jets organization is a joke ,they failed at all of the QB they drafted ,saleh and the coaches failed this kid worst O Line in the league the OC was cluelessand the head coachhas no idea wtf hes doing ,, good for zack he's actually going to learn from a real coach who knows wtf he's doing , i hope he kills it over there and make the jets look like the failure organization they are ,and this is coming from a life long jets fan ,
i agree the Jets had one of the worst if not the worst oline last 3 years and outside of Garret Wilson and Breece Hall they have nobody on offense. The coaching has sucked all around and the OC's were Hackett whos terrible with not a lot of experience as an OC and Lafuer who was a rookie OC when they hired him. Plus you had a HC whos not good and was also a rookie HC lol. Wilson i thought played even better than his stats showed he just couldn't do much as the jets outside of Hall and G.Wilson contributed nothing.
4:10 I think that ship has sailed Mike!
That Woody and the Jets already look like idiots? Agree!!
Zach Wilson hasn’t had a Top 10 Wide Receiver or a Top 19 Offensive Line in any of his 3 seasons.
Zach Wilson has had 3 Different Offensive Coordinators in 3 Years.
There is no reason to think that in a better situation Zach Wilson couldn’t be successful. That doesn’t mean he WILL be successful. But be open to the possibility. Geno Smith, Ryan Tannehill…it has happened before.
what about Garrett Wilson? and what do you think he will have in Denver ? coconuts
@@andyprem Garrett Wilson hasn’t ranked in the top 10 yet. 🤷🏻♂️ Best he did was 2022 when he ranked at 15th.
Last year the Broncos offense was 24th in receiving, Jets were 30th. Neither is great, but Broncos were better.
Plus, Sean Payton > Robert Saleh. Let me put it this way, if Wilson can’t get it together in Denver, then he’s not going to be successful anywhere. But in Denver at least he’ll have a chance. He was never going to be successful with the Jets. I wish we would have got more than 4 plays of Aaron Rodgers last year, because I’m not convinced the season would have been that much better.
Watch Zach somehow have a resurrection of his career lol
nope
@@philabul of course not, the Broncos are drafting Bo Nix. It would be gut wrenching to the jets if SP turned Z. Wilson around though lol
I doubt it, but watch everyone be wrong and they make the playoffs with Zach Wilson. He's got talent but his footwork and mechanics are god awful. If nothing else he's not a bad backup. Really hope this isn't the Broncos plan for next season but maybe Sean thinks he's a miracle worker.
Keep dreaming 😂
@@motivatedt9926 I love how literally all of yall missed the key word “SOMEHOW”
This doesn't effect our draft plans in my opinion. As a die-hard BRONCOS fan I really like this trade. Low risk and possible high reward. I'm not saying I'm a Zach Wilson fan. But, he was drafted # 2 for a reason. Gives Stidham competition and hopefully we can get rid of DeNucci and have a solid back-up for years to come.
Mark my words Zach will end up starting in Denver and he's going to light it up. It has nothing to do with Sean Payton. Zach has an arm and in Denver he will have weapons. If the OL protects he will succeed. He's been given a second chance. Wait for it....
I think so too, and that will be really fun to watch. It will be interesting to see the ramifications of the aftermath of the Russell Wilson contract play out as Bo Nix will be on a Rookie contract and Zach Wilson will now have an open market value that will probably force Denver to let him walk, even though he is their best QB, and some other franchise will be the long term beneficiary of Zach's resurgence.
The fact that Zach is only 24 and has that much experience...This guy is playdoe in Sean's hand!
The Jets have always been a hot mess as an organization with the exception of the Parcell Years and the first 2 years of the Rex Ryan era. Zach Wilson needs a coach that can bring him along and rebuild his self confidence. Bo Nix is till the best fit in my opinion for the Sean Payton system.
If Chris Simms was on the Titanic, he would be telling everyone that the ship was fine, to go back to sleep.
Payton is not the QB whisperer. When he had Brees in NO, Brees already had an established career in San Diego. You wanna say Winston? Fine. But name another QB that Payton had as a rookie and turned him into a great QB.
He didn't have the opportunity. Brees played for over a decade. Sean led the NFL in total offense in 11 of his 13 seasons. I'll take my chances. Sean gives any young quarterback a fighting chance. Hate away, though.
What if you are so good at your job as OC, you have 1 QB who consistently is top5 in every category and you just don't need a rookie QB? You can knock him for not finding Brees 2.0 but don't discount what he did because he never developed a rookie lol
Payton is a train wreck. Qbs go to him to self-destruct. I bet Russell does just fine with the steelers.
Not true. Brees peaked under Payton not because he was that good.
@@DanielCalzacorta-ip2xe Russell Wilson’s numbers went from dead last to 15 under Sean Peyton. You guys really will just say whatever the fuck you want without any context or reason.
Yeah it was so dang smart!!! I guess Paxton Lynch was busy or something. They could have signed him, he was the same caliber of quarterback.
Zack as a number 3 seriously! Back up at least
Whats sad is they get rid of these QBs like hot trash yet for some reason these GMs still trade the house, and jump on the media generational bandwagon. This is going to be another hot topic in 3 years with this QB class where we are talking about Caleb Williams, Bo Nix and Drake Maye being traded for 6th and 7th round picks etc.. When will we start holding coaches accountable for being useless at their Job vs dumping the QB and putting the blame on said player??
💯
If Russell Wilson didn't have the brains to run Sean Payton's offense, then Zach Wilson DEFINITELY doesn't have the brains to run it lol. He's got all the arm talent in the world, so if he had the mental ability to play QB he wouldn't look like an absolute cluster out there.
Right, a cluster......
Russell Wilson just doesn’t have the skillset. He has never been a rhythm and timing passer. He does better with play action and throwing the ball deep but running a offense that wants the ball more over the field is not his strength. Has nothing to do with intelligence.
If drew Breese can do it with peyton Zack wilson can do it with peyton honestly 35 year old Wilson lost his touch as a starting qb in the nfl and i dont see it coming back with the steelers and zach is barley 24 tons of time to develop before the (Gm) fans start predicting his career, who knows he might turn it around and youll look stupid🤷🏾♂️
@@D_Corleone I believe Russell Wilson will be better in Pittsburgh because it’s a better situation. I’m not sure what that looks like but he’ll be better just like he was better this past year. I still think the Broncos are going to draft a QB I don’t care what anybody says drafting a QB in the first round is a crapshoot, anyone of these guys could be a bust and most of them will be unless it’s a 1983 type draft. Having said that, I hope we get Bo Nix. I am really intrigued by Bo but as I said, it’s a crapshoot.
You think you can play QB behind jets o line ? 😂
Hope QB Zach Wilson is a starter and not a backup. He can launder and step into the old Russ Wilson jersey
These comments are comedy gold, Jerry… Gold
Pretty much the best situation for all involved.
how is it good for Zack and the Broncos and good for the Jets?
Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold have the same role.
Is Mike texting while Simms speaks? My goodness 1:30
Other than Brees who tf has Payton whispered
Jets have never developed a QB, NEVER
Chad, namath
Why do people think Sean Payton is some kinda QB genius?! 😂 He had one of the best QB's of the last 20 years. Sure, he might've helped Brees but Drew is still Drew. Take Drew away, Payton hasn't done anything yet 🤷🏼♂️
if payton can revive Jamesis, Teddy B, and Russell after that abysmal 2022 season, i believe he can help Zach. also its a rebuilding season so if he doesn’t look good then he can help be a tank commander for next year
What QB has Sean Payton made look good besides Drew Brees? Teddy Bridgewater was decent under Sean Payton. Anyone else?
didn't jameis winston look decent with him?
None. They go to him to self destruct.
Winston had his best season and even Taysom Hill, who's a TE now, looked semi- competent in his few starts under Peyton. He got Bridgewater paid and took Brees from a good QB to a Hall of Famer. Even Russ actually had a very good statistical year last year.
@@idawg7332Winston looked avg at best with sean
Might be a good change of scenery since he went to BYU and is actually from Utah. ....Right next door.
4:08 I hope that happens
I hope Zach changes his number to 3, so my jersey is still accurate
This could become the biggest steal of the 2024 offseason
Perfect indeed. For the jets.
This from the same guys who said Russ was going to kill it......🤣
I sincerely wish ZW the best. He'll make a solid backup right now.
Chris simms just can’t let Zach Wilson go lmao
he said “he could be a high end backup” that doesnt sound like he hasnt let go
What are you talking about dude?! Both were talking about a Zach Wilson trade; what did you expect Chris to say? He wasn’t celebrating him.
The New York Jets are the worst organization, by far, in the NFL.
And that's a high bar because there are some other really bad ones
You will never, ever see an organization mismanage a highly talented young QB worse than the pathetic, putrid, inept, moronic, disfunctional Jets managed Zach Wilson.
The kid can play.
Sean Payton got a steal and with the team burdened by the departed Wilson's ridiculous dead cap space, this Wilson is a godsend.
Meanwhile, Rogers will get hurt again in New York and be out for the season and the Jets will, once again, look like the complete assholes they've always been.
The over-under is 4 snaps for Rodgers
Have you heard of the browns?
The Jets may move up to #3 and take Drake Maye then sit him a year behind AR12
Unlikely. Aaron Rodgers would throw a tantrum just like he did in Green Bay when they drafted Jordan Love.
Lol
Yeah, and ruin another QB prospect. If I was Male, I’d want the Jets away from me.
They are gnna turn Zack into a star
He’s Drew Lock 2.0….we already had this dude lol we already have mountain lions here in Denver….now the Cougars are showing up for Zach Wilson!
Hes in his final year. U gonna pick up his 5th year for 22mill. Or sign him to backup contract
Zach better ball out in preseason although if broncos get their guy round 1 it privy won’t even matter
Payton will be enrolling at the nearest retirement home next year
@@DanielCalzacorta-ip2xehahaha
Without a doubt ZW is a better QB now then he was 3 years ago. Despite his challenges in NY, he is not broken.
He should have been a 2nd round pick and not the 2nd pick of the draft.
Like Sam Darnold with the Jets before him, he was destined to fail in the Jet’s culture.
Frankly, his appearance of looking like a 17 year old and not a rough and tough QB helped to create the sense that the Jets had handed the keys to their Ferrari to a spoiled brat. Working under Sean Peyton will be a great opportunity. Let’s hope he works hard, plays smart and finds a confidence equal to his talents.
This is just not a smart move. I get it’s only a 6th. But what did they get by trading for him?
They already got stidham, so their already running with a backup as their starter.
And if they draft a qb it’s gonna be even worse as Zach would have no future in Denver if they bring in s rookie.
So they basically just moved back in the draft for a bench qb who may end up being the 4th string qb on the team.
Zach Wilson's gotta improve on his QB issues and better himself. Coaches please make him better than he was.
Perfect for the Chiefs that is
So if Payton doesn’t turn Zach career around then we have to reconsider this “QB Whisper” title he’s been given….
I know people think this crazy but personally Zack is a gunslinger Sean loves gun slingers When he left for New Orleans he wanted Tony Romo actually made offer to Dallas for him ! He took Drew Brees when nobody else wanted him ijs saying! Russell has always i mean Always been a compliment football Qb ! At North Carolina state he was nothing transfered to Wisconsin 1000 yrd backs tough defense! At Seattle Marshawn Lynch Hall of Fame D fence! Zack Wilson straight gunslinger in college just like Romo was just and like Brees at Purdue !
Zach like John Elway should have nixed being drafted by the NY Jets which have a history of destroying QB's. As Elway refused to play for the Colts so Zach should have refused to play for a team with no front line, no running game, and horrific play calling with 3 offensive coordinators one out of high school. Even Tom Brady begged off playing one more year for these losers. Saleh is a defensive coordinator but as a head coach he sucks. Zach has the arm and the legs to show up Woody as being a true knucklehead when it comes to talent. Go Zach I predict in the future Zach will go All Pro.
Bo nix will be denver qb and zach wilson will be the backup
Nix isn't ready to start Week One.
Bo Nix and Zach Wilson are both 24 years old. Denver Broncos are probably staying at #12
Look what happened with Shanahan n Purdy who was Mr Irrelevant
Remember Chris Simms will be proven Correct as it concerns Zach Wilson.... Watch!
"The Jets have solved their problems." Have they? Hackett is still there.
The Jets will still be trash this year.
They are 20 years away from being a SB contender.
I trust the Lions to win a SB before the Jets.
And the Browns too
Now Wilson should wear number 3 so the Broncos fans here in Denver don’t have to buy a different Wilson jersey!
Zach will start for the Broncos not even close
He’s more talented than both backups currently on the Broncos.
@@TheHighlanderprimeaccording to who? Stidham has at least a year under Payton’s offense. And Ben denucci was one of the better qbs in the xfl.
What evidence is there to support the argument that Sean Payton is a good QB developer? Because Drew Brees was markedly better in NO than in SD? I need a larger sample size.
I think this a terrible fit. Wilson doesn't need that a-hole coaching style.
Especially in a high profile position like a QB, all ego has to be erased. You must have no personality. You go in there, humbly, and be the general of the offense. Forget who you are and the storyline. If you lose, you blame nobody to the press. You just say that you need more practice. You take responsibility for the loss. You can’t have an ego. You play hard, and if you win, you say the O line, the defense and the whole team and coaches are the MVP’s. Play your hand close to the cuff. Do your best, play your heart out, and don’t give the media much to talk about. Maybe that was just too hard to do in New York as a young QB.
Perfect situation for memes, that's what you tried to say i guess
Drew Brees was a quick processor who made fast decisions and threw accurate passes. Zach Wilson likes to hold the ball and drift around, and is erratic with his accuracy. There's basically no comparison.
In his first three seasons Brees' completion percentage 58% and he threw 31 INTs. His lowest completion percentage once he got with Payton was 63% and he finished his career as a 70% completion rate. Zac Wilson has a completion percentage of 57% and has thrown 25 INTs after three seasons. 58% is not accurate and they basically had the same on the field issues in their first three seasons.
What’s all this smoke about Sean Payton Drew Brees that’s it how is he a QB guru everyone else he failed
He resurrected Kerry Collins career with the Giants and went to a super bowl and he developed an unknown UDFA QB out of Eastern Illinois named Tony Romo into a high level starter but yeah he's done nothing with nobody else. 🙄
Don't want Denver to draft a qb this year. This team is horrible and needs lots if help. Take best player at 12 and finish top 3 next draft and get a qb then. This year has 1 good qb. The rest are at best back ups
With no protection will Aaron destroy his other Achilles tendon?
Sean didn’t help anyone other than Brees look GOOD if we’re being honest
Oh….
Isn’t simms the one that said Wilson was the best QB in the draft?
Zach Wilson and Trey lance have to be the happiest people ever that COVID happened
They got, over Drafted / paid before people could recognize they sucked, although anyone with a Brian could figure out lance was gonna be a bust
Lance is not a bust. 4 starts don’t dictate that at all. That’s not enough of a sample size for that label as much as people get too impatient in wanting the next Mahomes, Luck or Brady

Perfect situation huh?
Just like the kid from Missouri I forgot his name already

Here's the plan. Coach up Wilson, and do not draft a QB in 24. Broncos draft the best corner back at 12, and trade Patric Certain for 2 first round picks. Trade out of the first round in 1925 twice, acquiring an additional first , 2 seconds, and later picks. Use all the later picks to draft bpa, and have 4 first round choices to trade up for ARCH MANNING!!!!!

Didn't cost anything
Y’all better not write off the Nucc. Ben Dennucci is a baller. He’s almost a replica of Tony Romo with a coach that can help him maximize his talent.
Sean Payton screams like a psycho at Russel Wilson, sounds like a perfect situation for Zach Wilson or any young QB that makes mental mistakes 🙄
Chris simms...dude lacerated his liver in a gam playing as a bronco.
I don't neccessarily see Payton as a great QB whisperer. Drew Brees was just great.
There was a reason why the Chargers were in the market for a QB in 2004 and it wasn't because he was "just great." Also, Payton resurrected Kerry Collins career when he was with the Giants & went to a super bowl then in Dallas he developed Tony Romo who was an unknown FCS QB that went undrafted to a high level starter. Is any of that on your resume? 🙄
@@kenyattaclay7666 He’s just a casual bro he doesn’t know any history besides the mainstream news
Drew Brees's QB rating overall with the Chargers was in the 80's. It was in the 100's with Sean Payton. Teddy Bridgewater and Jameis Winston also played better under Sean Payton. Russell Wilson included.
If you think that a Zach Wilson trade is smart then I have a Sam Donald that I would be willing to trade for a third round pick with a retired JaMarcus Russell that I would include for free as a QB coach on how to unf** Zach's life.
No way Sean Payton went and got this guy only to stick him at QB3 for two years…simms is so thick sometimes lol
He thinks / thought Wilson was the best QB in that draft
I think Zach can have a Drew Brees esc resurgence, i think people underestimate how bad that jets team was especially the coaches. Now obviously I dont think Zach will be as good as Brees but could be a solid starter for years.
How is Sean Payton a QB whisperer? Didn't he just run his QB out of town, while taking a 40 million dollar dead cap hit to do it?
Bronco’s are going to regret making this trade! Z. Wilson is worse than Daniel Jones so here’s hoping Aaron Rodgers Achilles holds up!
Sean Peyton is a QB guru? why because he traded for Drew Breeze? what QB has he engineered to some amazing career?
Bridgewater did go 5-0 under him
Payton is garbage
Ummmm....drew Brees? PPL seem to forget that Brees didn't become Brees until payton got ahold of him. After his last season starting w/ SD, He was viewed as a fringe starter/elite QB2 at seasons end. He was far from a pro bowl qb. You wanna know how much Payton had to do with Brees success in the NFL? Look uo a video with someone asking Brees that question.
@@dylangoff2750 Not true. Brees was injured and San Diego were able to Draft another QB top 10. That would be like saying Kubiac was responsible for Peyton Manning winning a superbowl in Denver.
He traded for the only QB that was successful and drafted Zero QBs he developed.
@@sauldemize9998 Man, I'm a Broncos fan and I watched those Charger teams because we're obviously in the same division....and im telling u....wasn't ANYBODY scared of drew Brees. We were scared of LaDainian Tomlinson. So go tell ur little fake story to someone who either isn't old enough to have watched, or just didn't pay attention. Because this guy did.
So they got the wrong Wilson last year 😂😂😂 yah’ll a joke
😂 got rid of a Wilson and signed another Wilson
Why is Fields more accomplished? Because he can run and looks like a great CZcams QB? 😅
Players make the Coaches look good. That's just the bottom line. Sean Peyton had Brees. Without Brees the saints sucked. Bellichick had Brady....patriots sucked immediately after Brady left. If these coaches are such "QB whisperers" why couldn't they do it with other QBs?? You cant change how a QB plays. He's been playing like he has since he was a kid. Cant make a running QB into a passer...it just wont work. Cant make a passing QB into a runner...etc.
Will Zach be Sean Payton's Paysom ? HIll ? ... you know that "slot" guy he's always eluding to ? or is it just me?
Why is Sean peyton considered a qb guru again? The qb whisperer that couldn't make it work and forced out russel wilson? Sean peyton has 1 man to thank for his career and that man is Drew Brees
bingo! 100%
Because Russell Wilson wasn't doing what Sean wanted watch the tape Russell wasn't as good as his stats last year
Payton is hot garbage. Russell's will do fine with the Steelers, and Denvers paying for it. What a horrible team.
@@DanielCalzacorta-ip2xehot garbage? Not even a saints or broncos fan but Sean Payton is a brilliant offensive mind. He helped Drew Brees who was a shorter, not extremely talented guy become one of the most productive QB’s of all time
@@nopeteys2424 drew Brees helped himself. Who else has Payton "helped"?
Zach Wilson was not the problem. Jets is the problem. Look what they did for Aaron Rodgers. A new o line and more. Stay away from New York if you're a QB.
