John Phillips several people have switched to the sealed from the ported version and love the change. These hit harder in the lower register

I dont know how i must setup volume in my pb13 , on denon 4200 its on zero and on sub minus 7 and sound like shit, clipping,clipping.....

I've replaced ny dual SVS SB2000 with dual PSA S1512 and never been happier. SVS give good first impression, but the PSA will surprise you everyday. I'm now rewatching my entire movie collection. It's a whole new experience. Same for listening to music....
BTW, you could just run a frequency sweep using REW and compare the results.
Youthman, this is very unique and clever way to compare the subs.
I think there are couple mistakes in the dB levels noted in the video:
- 5:00: PSA 113dB, SVS 110dB
- 5:22: PSA 111dB, SVS 110dB
- 5:32: PSA 112dB, SVS 110dB
I'm not sure how hard you were pushing the subs, but it does seem that in few cases the PSA was pushing away by couple dB margin. I did not see any cases where SVS was louder than PSA. Most likely the bass drop demo peak volumes are somewhere over 30Hz frequencies where the PSA will have significant advantage. (SVS port is not helping much and the single 16" driver is no match to the dual 18" drivers.) I think if you did add another few dB to volume the difference might have been even even bigger?
I’m not sure how far I could have pushed them. I just know that 110dB is plenty loud enough for me. I will have to look back at the video to check the numbers. I went Frame by frame during the editing process to find the peak SPL of each bass drop.
No worries. I guess you could have tried to test if the subs are reference capable you need to hit 115dB peaks. (And that is uncomfortably loud for most people.)
The errors I noted were for the SVS where they were noted 10dB too low. If someone is going by the numbers in the video it would make the SVS look weak.
@@matsavol I added the CORRECTIONS to the description. We used to could add annotations on top of the video to correct errors but CZcams removed those. I also gave you credit for finding the errors. Thanks bro!
@@Youthman I'm confused now. The video clearly shows the PSA exceeding the SVS output overall. Are you saying that the sound meter readings were reversed that the PSA actually had the louder output readings? In my 24 by 17 by 10 foot living room that also has an ajoining open kitchen that adds another 18x16 feet the SVS clearly had more punching power and weight even though it didn't go as low in frequency. The pictures on the wall clearly rattled louder with the SVS but again it didn't go as low as the PSA. The PSA may go lower but it also did not have the puching power of the SVS in my room even with the lower frequency response. Youthman can you please clarify.

We will need to listen to this with our new PSA S1512! We had not watched Aquaman yet, so knowing it was one of your favorite to test bass, we had no choice! Wow, we are impressed. The bass mix in that movie is INSANE, especially the final few chapters, and really complements the ocean/water "vibe" of the movie! Cheers!
Test of subwoofers well just, I was crazy to see the potentiometer, bass specter. PSA s3611 was more intense in levels. I liked the show. Wow!The bass droop demo is awesome. show audio test.🔊😱👏👏👏

Is there a better subwoofer you've liked more than the dual opposed 18" from PSA? Curious if it's too boomy sounding compared to something like a Rythmik subwofer.
PSA makes great subs And I’m definitely not boomy. Your room might be booming due to room acoustics and peaks in your frequency response, but the subwoofer itself is not.
Several months ago, I ended up selling my PB16s to upgrade to dual JTR Captivator RS2’s and could not be happier.

Me personally, I would lean towards the V3611. Although I haven’t heard it, I was THOROUGHLY impressed with the S3611. The V3611 should have even more output

I’m hoping to. The S3611 killed the PB16 from 10-20Hz. It would take 4-5 PB16 to hit the same output from 10-20Hz. I don’t think the PB16 would fare very well against the V3611 but it shouldn’t as you are comparing dual 18’s to a 15.5” ported sub

Does it work to use both types of sub simultaneously? S3611 sealed with PB16 extended.
It’s not advised to use sealed and ported subs in a setup as you will run into cancellation issues

amazing the smaller, single, driver svs can hang with a dual 18 inch
In certain frequencies it did. At 10Hz it would take 5-6 PB16’s to hit the same SPL

How much power does one needs in such a small room? Two pb-2000 is enough.

Awhile back I did a poll to see which sub my subscribers wanted me to review from PSA and they chose the S3611. I own the Dual PB16’s and they are in a similar price point so yes, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be a fair comparison. I would expect Dual 18’s to outperform a single 15.5” sub, even if they are sealed and the PB16 is ported.
S3611 has ridiculous output in the sub 20Hz down to 10Hz. The PB16 has incredible output in higher frequencies, looks better cosmetically and is App controllable. There are pros and cons of both subwoofers so it really depends on what you’re looking for.
SVS seems to have the popularity, but, people are missing out on how truly great PSA subs are.
Same can be said of JTR. They are next level.
I would like to buy the PSA TV2112 but unfortunately not for sale in the Netherlands or Europe.

It seems to me that the PSA has more musicality to it. I used my headphones and it seemed that the Ultra ports were rattling. :s
The rattling was my room lol. One day I need to slowly go through a frequency sweep to find all of the rattles.
so are you gonna be moving to PSA for subs or do you think the SVS are more refined ?
Hi David, I don't think I will be switching. I don't necessarily feel that the SVS is more refined than the PSA but I'm definitely happy with their performance and having the ability to control them via the app is nice. The S3611 is incredible for sure but I'm not sure I'm ready to sell my Dual PB16's yet. There are things I like better about both subwoofers. Sealed subs don't suffer from port chuffing like the PB16's do. I like the App and finish on the PB16 better. Both have tons of output. The PSA digs deeper. I would like to hear the V3611 and also something from JTR before I made a decision on whether I want to change subwoofers. Then there is always the possibility of having a friend help me build a DIY with maybe 4 18's. It never ends does it? LOL

Typically you would want to compare sealed to sealed and ported to ported but I asked which sub my audience was interested in having me review and they said S3611 so that’s what I requested.

i felt like i could hear the bass coming from a speaker when the svs was playing, the psa sounded way more realistic. Could just be the video
Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to get a sense of how a speaker or subwoofer sounds through a CZcams video.
The last news from svs service after 10 Days are- sorry we Lost your all emails, send it again- after i have send photos with problem with one of bas refleks port( is rateling) alrede twice.
