I always feel like I'm sitting in your home theater room just having a conversation with a buddy. Thanks for another great review!
Thanks bro. That’s exactly what I hope for
Hi youthman! I really enjoy all your videos. Yesterday I just bought my first Klipsch item. It’s the r-120SW and I love it. Your videos are really helping me build my first real home theater. Right now all I have is old Sony satellite and a 6 inch sub. The Klipsch sub differences from the Sony is night and day. It’s bass is deep and clean. What makes it even better is that I only paid $245 for it at Best Buy brand new. It shakes things in my room and can feel it in my chest. It’s amazing. Thank you for helping me and can’t wait till I get the rest of my Klipsch system!
Thanks Russell. Congrats on your first Klipsch. Enjoy the journey of building your setup.
Glad to finally hear some listening impressions. You sure picked a good movie to evaluate the PSA feels/sounds nuts for most of that movie.
Great job Youthman. Much appreciated review. Youre doing great. Watch every video. Keepem coming as often as your busy schedule allows.
Thank you kindly.
Great work on the review! Love that sub. Those drivers are awesome, and I really like that finish. It has awesome performance specs. Bring the multiplex experience to your home! Great warranty, have to love free shipping!
Thanks Hi-Fi. Completely agree with you
Happy Holidays Youthman! Thank you for all of your excellent videos!
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
the svs pb 16 ultra is 2500 dollars, so 2100 dollars for 2 18's is an absolute steal !
I agree. If you don’t need the app control or the nicer finish, the S3611 is a beast of a sub.
No offense but the driver in the pb16 is a beast. Value wise? Yes there is no debate. But the driver in the pb16 is in another league. These PSA subs will possibly cause cracks in the structure of your home. I myself am very interested in trying one out
Just curious what you mean by the driver in the PB16 is in another league. Tom could better tell you as he knows both quite well since he is the “V” in SVS. 👍
@@Youthman
The sheer structure, size, build and weight of the svs driver. I wouldn't be surprised if 1 svs 16 driver weighed close to 2 of the 18s in the psa. I know who Tom is. He is the reason I became an SVS customer and why Im leaning towards getting a pair of dual 18s from PSA.
I did a lil digging. The dual sealed PSA 18 has near identical dimensions of the pb16 ultra yet the pb weighs 40lbs more. The dual psa 18 vented sub is nearly twice the cabinet size of the pb16 yet only weighs 20 more lbs. That is mostly due to enclosure weight.
The pb16 driver has a massive magnet. The driver is a monster.
Gotcha. Tom would be able to tell you how his drivers compare with SVS.
I knew you would love that sub. PSA are really a great company with great speakers and sub. Tom is the best!
You are correct. It’s truly a fantastic sub and Tom has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I’m looking forward to reviewing more of their products in the future.
Great series of videos covering the PSA-3611 Subwoofer. You helped me make the decision to purchase 2 of them. Great Channel!!!
I think you will be thoroughly pleased with them
Youthman You produce quality content. I’ve been a home-theater guru my whole life (40+ years) and your videos really do help. I really enjoy your laidback and inviting approach.
Thank you. Tell Tom I sent you.
Youthman Done. Order complete. I sent Tom a note explaining that your video series on the PSA 3611 sealed the deal.
Hi, thank you! Have you tried these subs with music? How is the detail of the bass for music?
Good video, thanks. I have the S3010, I believe it has the same amp but with 15” drivers. Absolute monster. If anyone is thinking of buying this brand, do it, you will not regret it!
Very cool
That movie must have been incredible with that sub. Great review- makes me want to try it!
Thanks! It’s pretty impressive for sure.
@@Youthman can u do reviews of the arendal 1723 sub 2 and 3 also then?.
Very awesome and informative review!! Im newly subed and i already love ur channel. Best info and real life tests on some of the best equipment on the market available for the home theater fanatics. Of course i would have to sell my house to afford the equipment, but at least id have huge boxes to live in! I do have my own small theater room with a 75 inch vizio and a "budget friendly" klipsch 7.3 atmos sound system, im very happy with my set up and yup that whole race scene in Ready player one is pure eye and ear candygams!! My wife and 3 little boys love movie night aka almost every night is movie night!! 😁
Going back through old videos brother. I have two S3612s being delivered on Monday 😁
Whoohoo! Congrats. Those are beasts
So how do u compare them with ur PB16 in terms of bass quality
Hey my friend, wondering I already have one svs pb3000 and debating to add a second or jump to psa and grab one s3612 ,I like everything about the psa s3612 newer version of the s3611.what would you do if you can only get one ,thanks
Hey Youthman,
I discovered your channel a few months ago and enjoy your reviews very much!!
I wonder if you could give me a little advice?
I just received Klipsch's RF-7 III right, center and left speakers. They replaced the original RF-7's. Boy, what an amazing sound from these speakers.
My system consists of all Klipsch speakers, 7.2.2. (Atmos) My AV receiver is a Pioneer SC-89.
I've never really understood the proper settings for the subs. I have two of the Klipsch R-112SW.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all of your great information you post on the internet!!
Ken
I went thru quite a few ported subs and was going to order 2 v3601s when we remodeled to roughly a 30x30 open concept living room/kitchen. The 2 v1801s I had at the time still handled the new space well , so I figured I didnt need double of that output but wanted extension that I couldn't get from PSA's ported offerings. Contacted Tom , he was responsive as usual and changed my order to 2 S3601s and I haven't looked back , in fact I added a 3rd and even bought a s3000i that i am not using at the moment. I am in sealed sub eardrum bursting nirvana that most ported subs cant touch!
So is there any benefit to ported subs?
@@brent3086 Now there is...A lot has changed with the ported offerings from PSA....They have Italian made drivers now and the sound is amazingly clean , and now PSA has low tuned ported offerings that offer similar extension..I replaced those 4 subs , six 18" drivers and two 15" drivers and about 8k worth of amp power with two 21" ported subs with about 4k worth of amp power and they easily replace the 4 previous subs...So the real question now is , are sealed subs really necessary? These things extend to about 12hz and sound even clearer than the previous sealed subs..Sealed subs have a benefit in smaller rooms , or if you have space issues and are usually a bit cheaper...These low tuned ported subs really changed things up...
Great vids as usual, I wish I could hear some subs like that, and I can’t imagine how your and other ppl systems sound with dual subs or more!
My system is in my living room 20’x20’x12’ cathedral ceiling and all I have is 1 Klipsch R-100sw gain is just under half way up and that thing gets down and feels the whole room with bass.
Plus I just have a Klipsch center channel and 2 Klipsch satellites up front. So just a 3.0.1 system running of a lower end Sony receiver at 100 watts a channel. And it gets super loud and clean.
Keep the great vids coming, I’m a fan bro.
Do you have to buy all the speakers u review or do the company’s send them to u for testing and u have to return them?
Thanks Brian. Most companies give me a 60-90 Day Review Period. I can make as little or as many videos on them as I want. Once I finish the review, they provide a return shipping label or I can purchase them.
I would be very interested to know what you would do differently if you were starting from scratch with your current knowledge.
You are the man !!! Keep'em coming !
Thanks!
Youthman love your review on the s3611,so for that I'm getting two s3612 love to try seal subs in my hometheater...my klipsch r115sw went off on me....doesn't turn on only once in a while, will keep in touch, this for all you do will let Tom know...
I think you will love them. Dual S3612...oh yeah!
That's what I enjoy about this channel always ends the video with stay bless or have a blessed day
Thanks Henry. I want my channel to be an encouragement and a blessing to everyone that chooses to spend their valuable time watching my content. Thanks for being a part of the Youthman Crew!
Hey what cabel vill you yuse for big klipsch flore standing sperkers and the klipsch RC64ii
Hi Rene, I use 12 Gauge Monoprice on just about all of my speakers - amzn.to/2RhU8F4
Nice review!
Thanks Justin
That's probably one of the best values to a manufactured sub that I've seen. 2 18's is no joke. Good video as always sir. Only a few weeks until my sub comes in. I'll let ya know 😉🤘
Let me know how you like it
Which sub did you order?
Kinda under wraps til I get it (ya know, build the anticipation lol) but I've mentioned it to you before. It's a DIY sub
Sorry, with over 13K subscribers, it’s more and more difficult to keep track of what people have told me. 😀
Unacceptable sir... 😜 Ha no problem, I didn't know if you'd remember or not. And that's a good problem to have, hopefully that number keeps going up!
So do you think two of these in a 19X13.6X8 room is too much? I’m looking for tactile response and chest slam.
One is plenty for the slam factor. My room is 13’ x 19’ x 10’
Hey Youthman, would you say that one 3611 is equivalent to two PB16's?
I'm having a very hard time deciding between the two.
Thanks for the input.
I don’t think so but the S3611 easily hangs with the PB16 and performs better in certain aspects.
I asked Tom that very question prior to reviewing it and he said the same thing.
It really depends on what is important to you as they both have strengths.
@@Youthman Thanks for the comment and info. With my current setup, I have one SVS PC4000 (aka black waterheater) and I'm wanting to add another sub. Two are on my radar;
V3611 or a PB16.
I suppose I could add another PC4000....
I'd love your thoughts on this if you have the time to respond. If not, I completely get it. Thanks again.
Youthman, older review, how would you compare it to your JTR Captivator RS2's?
Hard to tell being so far apart. Both have incredible output. My RS2’s are flat in my room down to 5Hz. If you look back I should have some measurements of the S3611 in one of the videos.
Hey, what's up, Youthman! Any good recommendations on an AVR? I'm looking to upgrade from my Onkyo RZ710. Was thinking maybe something like the Marantz 7012 or 8012, or the Denon X4400 or X6400. Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you, sir!
I reviewed the Denon 6400 and the Marantz 8012 and ended up choosing to upgrade to the Marantz. I’ve been very pleased with it. It easily lowers my entire 11.2 Klipsch System due to their high sensitivity. If your speakers have low sensitivity, you might benefit from adding an external amp. Both of those units are great though.
@@Youthman - Awesome, thanks for the feedback! I'm just running a 5.1 (5.2.0) Klipsch RP setup with duel SVS subs at the moment, but looking to upgrade to Atmos very soon. Hoping the 8012 will future proof my setup for a while, and sound great in the process. Will definitely be the best AVR I've ever bought new for myself, so i'm excited to see how it sounds! Ps. Any opinion on Bi-amping my front towers with the 8012 using the extra channel I won't be using for a while due to space restrictions and the WAF? Everything I've read on Bi-amping still seems so controversial. Guess my main concern with the 8012 is if it will be too powerful for my towers tweeters if I Bi-amp them. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Another great review, if I didn’t already have dual pb 16’s I would have hopped on this thing in a heartbeat, Tom has another great company on his hands.
Alton Moore II too bad for you maybe one day😉
@@burningsti I know from having pb-16's that Alton is in a win-win scenario. Knowing what I know now, I would be happy either way. The lower frequency on this sub that goes beyond hearing would have made it impossible to crank it, and not travel upstairs to my family, and shake things that do not add that much to my personal enjoyment. I had a nasty null in my room with my dual subs. The SVS app all but eliminated it. Couldn't have done that without a separate DSP for a few hundred more dollars. Rather have my DSP incorporated personally using a phone app.
tkcdac As long as you are happy. Great subwoofers either way.
Rob M happy S3601 owner, once I dipped on the seales side it was over can't go back.
Zachary Faley I don’t have any regrets my friend, trust me !😎😎😎
Hello i am thinken of buyeing my frind klipsch RC 64ii how good is it compare to the new model 2018
The RC64 II and RC64 III are great speakers. I have not compared it yet to the RP-504C but it's in the works.
Hey Youthman, love your reviews. I saw a video where you demoed the PSA sub with music and it was amazing. Did you do one with a movie? I only saw the bit in this review.
Also, if you had the chance to pick between SVS and PSA (before you got the dual SVSes), which one would you pick?
Last, are you going to review the new Klipsch duals you just got?
Thanks!
Thanks Julio! Glad you are enjoying the content.
I haven’t done an audio demo with the S3611. Maybe I can make one before I ship it back next week.
If I had not have purchased the Dual PB16’s, I likely would have gone with Dual S3611 or even Dual V3611 since my subs are behind my screen and having the nicer finish wouldn’t matter as much.
I do really like the SVS app but it’s a convenience for volume. I’m going to use a MiniDSP 2x4 HD with REW so I won’t need the built in PEQ.
You can’t go wrong with either sub though. Both have tons of output, one looks nicer and the other digs deeper. Depends on what is most important to you.
I’m off for a week so I’m working on Unboxing the rest of the Reference Premiere System and will begin making videos with them which will indeed include the Dual R-115SW.
Youthman does the SCS allow you to adjust 3 frequencies in the PEQ, or are they 3 presets?
You can adjust three frequencies
Youthman Oh wow, I think subs like rythmik you can only adjust one. That is really cool.
A holiday-themed music suggestion for your subwoofers: Get a copy of "Winter Wonderland" by the Cocteau Twins. LOTS of Bass, and it is just a great version of the song too!
Hi how do you think this one stand against one jtr rs2 that you have now for movies..?
Much more similar than the PB16’s that I have.
Amazing!! I’m leaning more and more towards sealed !
Jose Ortiz Not all sealed subs are the same. PSA has a different sound signature and has plenty of out put for movies compared to other brands. This is a fantastic subwoofer.
I agree. I wasn’t super impressed with the output of Dual SvS SB16’s. I didn’t have them to compare side by side but I believe the S3611 would outperform Dual SB16’s
I've had quite a few ported subs , even some of PSA's and made the switch a few months back..now I have 3 of these s36s and love them. They do have a ported sound to them but very tight. I got to hear 3 JTR2400s in a sealed room and they were super powerful , and gave an amazing experience but they are huge subs! These s36s are 'compact' per se for the amount of performance you get!
@@butcherben12 Hi so Wich would you prefer if the size of the subb dont matter s3611 or JTR Captivator 2400.? How did you like the feeling betwin Them..?
@@jaxonve7307 Dude , I've seen you on Facebook , AVS , and now here...You are in analysis paralysis! You a comparing one thing to another and get a resolution on that , and then go throw another option to compare between..Now you are on sealed Vs Ported..I know these things are expensive , heavy , and you want the best for your room but these 200lb boxes are not easy to test..But I can almost guarantee between JTR and PSA , you will be getting a great sub..Throw a blanket over the S3612 and RS1 and take a listen , you probably will only hear minor differences and even that will change from room to room..Put a PSA Tv3612 or 4212 Vs JTR 2400 , and you will probably level your house before you find the limits or differences..
But for you current question 3611 vs 2400 with no size limitations?? This is how I know you are way overthinking this, THIS ISNT EVEN A COMPETITION! The JTR 2400 will outperform the s36 in all shapes and forms...Its almost like you are making up silly questions to confuse yourself more...
It seems like you are solid on buying between JTR and PSA , so that is a solid start...Stick to that and forget about any other name that may be thrown you way..
Then decide if you want ported or sealed , your room is a size where either sealed or ported will work..But if you want all the midbass and lows and leave nothing on the table? I'd go a low tuned ported sub , they have most of the advantages of a sealed sub with extra grunt where it matters..
Sealed subs have an advantage because they are usually smaller and can extend down deep in the right rooms..You don't have to worry about size , and these low tuned subs will give you all the extension you need to down below the human hearing spectrum..it would probably take 3 s3611s to equal the output of 1 JTR2400 or TV3612 / 4212 ...im sending all my sealed subs back and picking up some of the TV2112s.. I would almost recommend you getting those or the Ipal version of the 21's..They will be about the size of the S36's, but will also be ported..Id have to say the best of both worlds..
Yeah talk to Tom about 3hrs ago and gave you a shout in the conversation, yeah he mention you and him talk every week, and that you are a nice guy...I agree ..ok youth have a great day will keep in touch...again this for all you do for us out here, thk
Thanks. Tom is super cool and very knowledgeable. What are you considering?
Can you do pb 4000 vs psa v1811 comparison too please
Was waiting for this review for sure :) So it seems this one is better than PB Ultra16 since it delivers better right in ultra low frequency? It seems cheaper then PB Ultra16 but maybe because of the design of the sub. At the end of the day - what matter the most in my humble opinion is that the sub delivers the frequency it is intended for - SUB low :) Keep up the good work
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Hey Youthman can tell me what do you think about the Panamax M5300 pm
I was give. A 5500. It’s a good surge protector. Not sure if I buy into the “line conditioning” part
Hey Youthman, was this review of just one S3611? Does it offer similar infrasonics to the RS2? I know the Rs2 will be superior but just wondering how this one compares from your memory.
Yes it was a single unit. Very similar in design to the RS2. I did not have them to compare or test side by side.
@@Youthman Thanks Youthman. So it seems like the shocking effect with these amazing dual sealed subs is probably the fact they go REALLY low too, which the RS2s clearly do from your graph.
Yes. My RS2’s have a ton of output due to large 4000 watt RMS amps and dual 18’s and flat down to 8Hz makes for quite an experience.
Is the PSA S3611 the equivalence of two subwoofers? Or will I still need to buy 2 to get a balanced sound?
The S3611 has massive output. The benefit from having dual subs is you will have more headroom and better frequency response throughout your room.
hey buddy, anyway I could get your advice on something? Not sure if you saw my recent video, but we moved to San Antonio, and have started construction on our new theater. Much bigger room, 28/20. Things are moving along pretty quickly, and I wanted to get your advice on the placement of two of my 6 SVS Sub's. You'll see in my video, that my stage is framed. You may remember from my original Bryan's home theater that I also didn't do acoustically transparent, and have my towers and subs on either side of the screen. I thought about going acoustically transparent this time, but because of where the door was, and me wanted to use the wall that didn't have an HVAC closet on it, I decided against it. My question is, as you'll see my front stage is 130 inches wide, and is deep enough to place two of my SVS PB16 subs in it, vs having them open air next to my towers, which is the way my old theater was. What I was thinking about was placing them inside the stage, and covering the front of the stage with some acoustical cloth that I found online, similar to what goes on a normal speaker grill, and simply placing the two subs and my center in there. In my previous Bryan's Home Theater, I had a slot framed in for my center, and it protruded from the stage. But if I went down the path of placing two of my subs behind the stage, I was just going to place my center ona stand within the stage vs having it be visible, as the entire front of the stage would be covered by the materials. I guess I had two concerns and questions I thought you might help me with. Given the stage comes out 35 inches from the screen, would there be any issues with the Subwoofers and Center being out further in the room compared to my two Polk LSIM707 towers, which would sit flush against the wall on either side of the screen, and secondly, if you were me, would you have any issues with the Subs being enclosed within the stage vs being open air like my previous set up? TIA for any advice you can provide, as things are moving very quickly, and this is a decision I need to make pretty quickly. Beyond that, on the build itself, I'm using two layers of QuietRock Drywall, with Green Glue sandwhiched in between, including the ceiling. I have 5 dedicated 30 amp circuits, with all being 110 accept the circuite dedicated to the dedicated Ductlesss HVAC Mini-Split cooling system. For lighting, I have the Lutron Caseta Pro Wireless Smart Bridge Home Lighting Kit (P-BDGPRO-PKG1W) with 5 dimmer switches. Universal Remote, I have the Harmony Elite Smart Hub. Power wise, I have my Reference Series Emovita EXR-2 powering my two LSim707 front surrounds, and I have 3 Emotiva EPA2 powering my other 9 channels, which includes 4 of my LSIm702 surrounds and my LSIM706C center. Have the Panamax 5300 Power Conditioner. Sub wise, I have 4 SVS PB16 Ultra's and 2 SVS PB13 Ultra's. Streaming wise, I have both the new Amazon Fire Cube, and the NVIDIA 4k shield. DVD wise, I have the first 4K blu ray that came out a couple of years ago by Samsung. All this will be placed into the 85 inch Sanus Rack with the built in fans that will be flush mounted into the Theater room. Thanks again for listening, and look forward to your feedback/advice as it relates to my front 2 Subwoofers and what your thoughts are regarding placing them into the stage.
You are building a theater that most people only could dream of. Massive room with massive video and sound to match. :) I don't see a problem with your mains being slightly behind the subs as your processor will adjust the distance which controls the delay so that the sound from each speaker reaches your ears at the same time. Honestly, I'm still trying to process all of your gear. LOL Can't wait to see it come together. My encouragement to you would be to document as much as you can on CZcams as others will find it useful and inspirational when they go to build theirs. I wish I would have thought of that when I first began building mine 10 years ago. I did create a build thread in the AVS Forum with LOTS of photos, I just wish I would have done it with video as well.
Hey youthman, is there anyway to review power sound audio speakers??? I saw in their website some speakers any idea?
I would be interested in reviewing some if Tom would like to send me say an LCR. I need to get some gear reviewed first before I get more speakers. Have two more being delivered on Friday
@@Youthman You did great job with reviewing PSA S3611 but my bad luck no Power Sound Audio in Dubai i was planning to ship it but guess it will cost me more than the sub itself for shipping lol. Please let us know more about the speakers because i am planning for bulk shipping in small container. Thank you again for the reply big fan of you and keep it up.
That stinks you can’t get them and that they are a lot more
Hi youthman, is a sealed subwoofer like this PSA better than a vented one then if it gives more infrasonics?
Yes, if you compare a sealed subwoofer and a ported subwoofer of the same size the sealed will dig way deeper.
Ported tend to have more output, sealed typically dig a little lower. I went with (4) sealed 18’s , so I get plenty of output and it digs deeper.
@@Youthman Wow.... 4!! I was thinking of doing with 2 sealed 18s in a 3.5x4m space. Do you think that would work or would I be missing out on some vented chest slam?
Dual 18’s can provide plenty of slam in most setups. I have own JTR Captivator RS2 and also reviewed the PSA S3611 and both have a ton of clean output.
Youthman please help :) i have tested my pb13 with your bass demo and im not happy. I must go for s3010 or s3611 to get more punch?
I have not heard the PB13 but the S3611 easily kept up with the PB16 and had MUCH lower extension than the PB16 so it would only make sense for it to perform better than the PB13. I have not heard the S3010. Reach out to Tom on his website. Let him know how big your room is and he can point you in the right direction of what sub would perform better than your PB13. Tom Vodhanel is the “V” in SVS
@@Youthman 1mil $ question, should i buy another pb13 when its on "sale " or go with single s3611 ? Is s3611 easier to place Then other subs since is dual driver?
Room is 4x5x2,5meters
I'm getting the s3612 with ipal woofer, the 3611 is discontinued, thks.for all you do...
You are in for a treat!
Their 5yr warranty is bumper to bumper. Meaning it covers the woofer and the amp, which is amazing! Tom is amazing and the customer service that is provided!
Very cool to know. Tom is a super guy
@@Youthman - Great review by the way. I subscribed!
Thank you. I have lots of videos for you to enjoy. Thanks for being a part of the Youthman Crew!
Thank you youthman..
Do you advise me to buy it? I watch movies all the time
That’s completely up to you. I think it’s an incredible subwoofer. How large is your room?
Hello man, great review.
Its the mega bass good for music aswell?
Do you now a dealar who can shipp one to Sweden.
Dont find a dealar here in Sweden for that amazing subwoofer.
I would reach out to PSA on their website. Tom would be able to let you know if he can get one to you.
Yes the bass for music is incredible as well as for movies.
@@Youthman ok man thanks, now I have to send a e-mail to Tom. 😀

Great review as always! What's the name of that movie in this review? I'd like to check it out for myself?
I mentioned the name at 3:21 in the video and have a link to it in the description of the video. It’s called Ready Player One. Great movie
@@Youthman Thanks! and Merry Xmas!!!
I've looked in the link and saw it thanks.
Merry Christmas!
Awesome review Youthman, I can't help but think in terms of sheer extension that this is better than the pb16 ultra. I would be awesome if it had the remote and app features but I'm guess that would maybe put the price on par with the pb16 ultra.
Thanks Richard. The S3611 has a lot more output in the lower frequencies. It’s pretty insane how low this sub digs. Yes adding features would definitely increase the cost.
When testing this sub...did you only have the one? or did you have 2 of them?
PSA was only able to send me one for review
@@Youthman Just wondered if there's such thing as too much bass. 😀😎
Not really. Just because you have a 1500 horsepower super car doesn’t mean you will drive it daily at top speed. But the benefit is headroom...when you need the power, it’s available on tap.
Which one do i buy? I dont want to piss off my neighbors but i also dont care if my experience is intense, svs ultra 16 or psa. It seems on the surface that the svs is more capable in the long run as far as adjustability.
They both are incredible subs. SVS has some nice features within the app and looks awesome in Piano Black. S3611 had ridiculous output all the way down to 10Hz which is incredible. Both have a gain so you don’t make enemies with your neighbor
Is soundpath from svs good for PSA?
Not sure if they are compatible as I’ve never used them.
The best diy budget subwoofer that delivers tremendous performance is a well built sub box with a Dayton Audio UM18-22 18” sub. It is just $324.90, I wonder how they can complete with the s3611?
I’m not sure Peter as I have never heard anything from Dayton.
Hey Youthman, not sure if you’ve been surfing the avsforum power sound audio thread, but Tom over at PSA has a new dual 18 ported sub, ultra deep tune. Called the TV36 iPAL. Might wanna check it out.
Thanks. I knew he was working on a few new TV subs.
Hello great video..🙂👍 so if you look aside that you have dual pb16-ultra's today and if you dont need the app. What would you have gone for today you think..? Dual psa S3601 or dual svs pb16-ultra's, For Only movie watching in your room..?
If you don’t need the app and don’t need a fancy finish, I really don’t think you can go wrong with the S3611. It’s certainly a beast of a sub.
The depth you get out of it is down right ridiculous
FYI, the S3601 has been replaced by the S3611 with a new upgraded amp.
Ok so you would have whant to put upp dual s3611 behind the the screen if you were to deside today and dont need'd the app.? You would not mis ported subbs you think..? And maybe gone whit dual PSA V1811 or PSA V3611..? Insted of the seald s3611..? If you whent over to psa subbs instead of your svs and not thinking of the app..??
Hello again what do you think about changing out my dual svs pb4000 against dual PSA S1811 Or V1811 to my movie room how is around 1500 Cubic feet seald concrete room. Or is it a waste of time and money, what do you think..?
I Think the svs pb4000 absolutley go low egnofe but i maybe whant a little more chest punch. But that is if i realy will notice a big diffrens betwin the psa s1811 or v1811 and my svs pb4000 subwoofer
For movie watching Only.
Seald s1811 vs ported v1811 against my ported pb4000..?
These world problems..😂 it's a funny butt very expensive hobby..
Very greatful for any of your thougts about this..
Dont realy use the app in the svs so much so i feelt i realy need it.
best regards
Do we get 60 days trials and 5 years warranty out of USA or in Asian countries ?? 👍to PSA.
I’m not sure on PSA International Warranty. It would be best to contact them
Wow!😱 Great review, perfect subwoofer 😎👍 Hello! Youthman. I have two subwoofers of Polk audio 10 "to call in my home teather, do you have any suggestions for tuning and positioning?
For positioning, you either can use the Sub Crawl Technique or use REW and a Calibrated Microphone like the UMIK-1 to be able to see what position is the best location for your subs.
Oh did I mention it's two I'm getting, to accommodate my klipsch rs 62 2's 6 of them and my towers rp280,and rc52,or64 forgot,I'm over the road can't ck,in California right now trk drver....good evening youthman, thks
Whoohoo! Sweet setup!
So the question is which one would you buy today if you didn’t purchase the PB16Ultra pair already?
That is the million dollar question. It's difficult to say because I really like the style and finish of the PB16's and since my subs are behind my screen, having the SVS app is super convenient for me. The S3611 handles those 20Hz down to 10Hz like a BEAST! I'm VERY pleased with the PB16's but I would likely be equally pleased with dual S3611's as well.
I've been telling people, it really depends on what is important to you. If you don't need the app control, PEQ or the fancy finish, the S3611 is awesome. If you want flexibility of port tuning, app control, nice finish, metal grill etc, the PB16's are fantastic as well.
Youthman what if my importance is only output under 50hz and maximum headroom?
@@iamsabit1337 With that criteria, I believe the S3611 would be your best bet. Take a look at the graphs on my website - youthmanreviews.com/psa-3611-vs-svs-pb16-rew-test-comparison/. The S3611 handles those lower frequencies much better, ESPECIALLY between 10Hz - 20Hz. At 10Hz, the PB16 hit 78dB and the S3611 hit 104dB. For every subwoofer you add to your system, you gain 6dB in volume. So at 10Hz, it would take 4 PB16's to equal the output of just 1 S3611. You have to admit, that's pretty stinking impressive.
Youthman thank you soo much! Why didn’t you try the V3611 instead?
Awesome! How did the room size knob effect the response curve?
Maybe I can test that this week and see.
That would would be great! I'm also interested in how the Pb-16 EQ looks in Sealed mode when compared to the PSA Sealed. It should go lower & flater but loose some overall output.
Great review....sub'd.
Returning my PB16, considering dual S3611s as replacement. Also considering dual V3611s, or dual Captivator RS1s. The 3611 seems to be the best value/performance of the three. At about 50/50 music vs movies, I'm looking for mid bass slam with music and excellent extra-low performance feel for movies. Thoughts?
All of those are great choices. If you are 50/50, the sealed S3611 would be a great option. Sealed subs are often better for music but I can assure you the S3611 has a ridiculous amount of output for home theater. A pair of them would be incredible.
@@Youthman 3611s being phased out. Ordered two S3612s last night! 4-6 weeks to delivery. I got the non-ipal driver but it is supposed to be an improvement over the driver in the 3611s. I think they'll be worth the wait!
@@22KevMac hi, how do you like the PSA s3612 subs so far? I just found out about PSA, and looking to get one, but reviews are very rare. I am disappointed with my svs pc12+ in music, so hoping to find a sub that will be tight/clean/fast for music, but at the same time has the power for me to feel the movie bass down low.
Probably will get the 15" version though...because 18" is just going to look ridiculously bug in my bedroom and my wife will kill me.
@@IronCan88 I cancelled my order for the S3612s and got 2 x SVS PC4000s. Very happy with them! In my room, I got the best sound by plugging up the ports.
@@22KevMac I actually am afraid to try another SVS after the pc12+ sucked for high res music even with all ports plugged in sealed mode. How are you liking your pc4000 for music? Are they tight/clean or still boomy and drags on in hifi music play back? Thanks
Honestly which one do you recommend most for both music and movie???
If I didn’t already own the PB16’s, I probably would go with the S3611. Ridiculous output even down to 10Hz.
Youthman thanks, man!
So, did you prefer this to the SVS 16 ultra?
Hi Mark, I really liked the low extension of the S3611 as well as the overall sound but I'm also very pleased with my Dual PB16's and prefer how they look and use the App quite often. I think both subs have their own strengths. It just really depends on what is most important to you.
@@Youthman Hello and if movies is Most importent would you go for ported subbs then..?
Not necessarily. SVS SB16 or PB16? I chose the PB16 as it’s a much better sub with more output. The PSA S3611 has a ton more output below 20Hz. It would take 5 PB16’s to hit the same output as the S3611 at 10Hz.The dual 18’s provide a crazy amount of bass.
@@Youthman So if i should change out my dual PB4000 to dual S3611 what whould i miss you think..? Or Is it better to go to dual V1811 if movies is the most i whatch..? Or Maybe one v3611 behind my couch and one v1811 in the front..:-) I have a al concrete room 1500 Cubic feet seald.
I now its maybe hard for you to answear but what do you think..?
Love the lows in the pb4000 and dont whant to miss that but would like som more punch hit in chest slam..:-)
Hi, am already using one pb2000 planning for a second one, will the psa v1800 align with my pb2000 or should I go for svs?? Tia
It’s easier to integrate identical model subs but using different model or even different brand subs is possible
Guess what? I decided to test their subs. So I just let you know ;p Long time viewer
What did you think of them?
Does this mean you will use the PSA S3611 as your main subwoofer in your home theater room?
I don’t have plans to since I recently purchased Dual PB16’s. I am very pleased with my Dual PB16’s. The only thing I don’t like is the occasional port chuffing
Thanks for your response, Youthman! And to echo what others have said, great review!
Thank you kindly
@@Youthman Curious youthman...how "hot" do you run your subs?
I’m usually around 5-6dB hot for my subs
Huge Sub Mike! Wow! :)
It's ridiculous RAF. I loved my RSW-15's but always wanted more authority down in those sub 30Hz range and they drop like a rock at 20Hz. The S3611 has GOBS of slam down to 10Hz.
@@Youthman Sweet! 😎
So what is beter ,two pb13 or single s3611?
Depends on what you are after. S3611 will have a lot more extension. Dual PB13 will give you a smoother bass response throughout your room if you have multiple seats.
@@Youthman I just want shake my house:)) i just Love good bass so what give me more of it ?
You will not have a lack of bass from the S3611. Definitely plenty of it
@@Youthman I have just now one pb13 and another is for 1,5k in my country where 3611 cost 3k and its just one vs pb13 x2 and i cant sell my pb13 for 1,5 now. It just brainless. I have found some info about PSA and chuffing problems ( some call that disaster) V version and not nice deleting posts from forum when somebody was wrighting about that- ill stay with real quality subs and buletproof drivers so as pb13 what is well known truth, quantity is never = quality ( drivers PSA vs drivers svs)
I’ve heard good things about the PB13. I own Dual PB16’s and really enjoy them. They have port chuffing as well at high volume and with certain frequencies. The great thing is there are a lot of great products on the market, enough for everyone to find what they like the best.
Would you need to go dual with this subwoofer?
Depends on the size of your room and how even you want the bass across multiple seats
Youthman what is is opinion on these amplifiers. Would you purchase dual vtf-3 mk5 hp subwoofer 600 watts continuous power; 15” subwoofers; 20000 watts peak for $1549.00 or 2 svs pb 2000 pro 12” subwoofer, 550 watts continuous; 1500 watts peak for $1699.99. Please let me know thank you.
I would take the dual 15’s all day long
man you are making my decision hard. altho I can not fit that beast of a sub in my HT I can not make up my mind from the svs or psa
Both are fantastic subs. But ultimately you have to decide which features and qualities are most important to you and your setup. Let me know what you decide.
They really arent that big lol...I have 3 of them in my living room...JTRs are big!
True me, they are slightly smaller than my PB16’s.

Wow now I thinking about sell my 4 svs pb16 ultra and buy 2 s7201 or waiting for klipsch 18" 10-200hz but they're not release something like that 🤔😂😂😂
Dual S7201 would be insane! But I think it’s a fantastic idea. 😀
I wouldn’t hold your breath for Klipsch to produce an 18.
You're only feeling apart of that 10hz sine wave. Not feeling peak. The room needs to be massively large to feel a full 10hz wave. That being said, great review and I do like this company.
Thanks Kirk. I’m not as familiar with the science side of it but do know bass frequencies do have a much longer wave which is why Danley subs have such long paths from the driver to the port.
@@Youthman www.acousticfields.com/wavelengths-in-our-rooms/
@@Youthman well, many guys will spend thousands and thousands on Subwoofers that will play as low as the this one including SVS. It's a marketing trick that is literally screwing you out of money. No room in a normal suburban track home with sheetrock nailed to 16 inch 2x4's on center will re-produce a 10 hz soundwave at it's peak unless the room was built to do it which would be movie theater size. These guys will argue, send you graphs bla bla but they're wrong. They THINK they're feeling it but in all reality, it's bullshit. In my experience with installing equipment, you're doing well if you can produce a full 30hz soundwave. Anything lower, you're only feeling or hearing partial waves of these ultra low frequencies.
My Cerwin Vega 18 inch sub plays down to 25hz. Honestly, that's all you'll ever need unless you're building a room that can produce below that. These guys are literally wasting good money on being misinformed and clever advertising.
I would rather hear part of a wave than none of it. 👍
@@Youthman me too...but it's not worth 2 to 5 grand to feel that for me. You can do that with a bass shaker underneath your listening couch or chair. Much cheaper with better results if done correctly...and with quality like a Buttkicker. Not the cheap transducers from Parts Express.
Better than your PB-16’s?
In certain areas yes, in other areas no. They both have their own strengths. S3611 has lower extension. The PB16 have more output around their tuning frequency, have the app and look nicer. Just depends on what features are most important to you.
Bah. Just realized there is a first video review here. Also, this vid is 5 years old! Lol not sure how it ended up in my recent feeds. 🎉
Too funny. Yeah, sometimes CZcams recommends older videos to see if they can gain some more traction. This model is discontinued as well.

Would it be safe to say that the PSA S3611 is the best of both worlds? A sealed enclosure that operates like a ported enclosure without port noise?
The low Fq response extension is what I was looking for. And the REW measurement looks impressive. Power Sound Audio has my attention.
I've heard the PB16 at Listen Up. They sound impressive but sometimes reproduce port noise unexpectedly. I was willing to overlook that and almost purchased them until I saw this.
I don’t think you will regret buying the S3611. I also hear port noise (chuffing) on occasion with my Dual PB16’s with lower frequencies.
@@Youthman during your test, did the PSA S3611 have a bottoming out sound at high volumes?
