One of the prettiest songs I’ve ever heard
In Limbo this is a very underrated song, how they play the song it seems like a Kid A - From The Basement.
There are other instruments there, so I bet they did more.
This must have been the same session that had National Anthem, EIIRP, Idioteque and HTDC were recorded too
My favourite from Kid A
nymph gn 😂bhmmmne mb n j m😂t😂s
Exactly! It’s Kid A from the basement and it’s perfect. The other two songs they did in this set sound better on the album honestly but this version made In Limbo my favorite track, just like Bloom live from the basement made that song my favorite track
Can you even imagine being able to sing like that?
Hey you should look up a band called The Doublejumps if you like Radiohead
3:00 Thom nails the power note. I feel that 2001-late 2000’s were peak years for Thoms vocals.
2003 was his vocal peak, watch their Glastonburry show
@@gasermohamed142 watched that growing up. I went to glasto 2017 which was still great. But I wish I’d have gone in 1997 and 2003.
He sounds amazing hitting the last notes of How To Disappear on Jools Holland. The whole show is great to be fair.
I’m digging his voice at all times.
I agree in a way but I'll say this..of his contemporaries his voice has rested the best. Well him and Zack from Rage.
Baffles me why they've essentially never played this live since the album released, it's magical.
Same here.. I guess it's one of there hidden gems they'd rather not play live... I have no idea lol
they played it about 60 times live, you must have missed it :) not nearly enough though since it is absolute magic, i agree!
@@andreasbonkowski Yeah maybe back in the day aha but you look at the tours from in rainbows and onwards it basically never shows up
@@Chris-jg3km probably due to the tricky time signature, it's not the easiest to play. Once everybody locks into the groove though, it's magical
I read a reddit comment that said that the commenter met ed and told them they should play this song more and ed said “talk to Johnny… he thinks its too complicated!”
This is incredible. The fact that five humans were able to create an album this impressive is insane. They are so talented
Loop
Humans? Oh, no way: they are gods or demigods...

This album makes me feel safe
Hey you should look up a band called The Doublejumps if you like Radiohead
Glad you feel safe
This is such a unique song on the album! Almost like an espace from the robotic and electronic musical landscape of the album, like a limbo! I always loved this song a lot because of it stands out so much from the other songs on Kid A and I’ve never seen it live like this, great performance!
And remember Optimistic is guitar based song also right before In Limbo
@@Rubarb51 I’m pretty sure the lead is a bass! But I’ll have to double check
@@Rubarb51 Never mind I was thinking of another song!
It is a one-off in their entire catalog. There’s nothing else like it. They have a lot of songs that are one-offs like that. And I’m just like, could y’all maybe that a little more? But no. And that’s probably part of why they hold interest from some people and are detested by others. I think this is my favorite song of theirs tho.
Kid A is such an important album in my life
This song is so psychedelic
To me it is the sound of water cascading over rock. Psychedelic, yet the song provides a reality check in the sense of possibly being lost and/or living in a fantasy.
The guitar and those "pam pam" sounds make me feel as though I am carried along by the river
@@okaberintaro3936 You are being carried by the river, the river of TIME
Thom....you are nothing without the band

Closing in in 40 years old and I'm rediscovering Radiohead. With life's experience, love lost, sobriety obtained, and an older soul, this music is once again saving my life. It's a completely different experience but absolutely wonderful.✌️🇺🇸
Congratulations on your sobriety!
having a similar journey at the age of 44.
good on you mate. happy for you.
this song is much better live wow
Best song on the album.
Ed is so Fn awesome! Doesn't get enough credit with the backing vocals
Love how clean the guitar sounds in this version!
Agree! You can tell from the very first note how good it sounds
Kid A is not an album, it’s an experience. It always makes me disappear completely.
so real
“Dissapear completely” I see what you did there
so THAT's how you do it, previous instructions were unclear
Perfectly say
Well played 🤝🏻
I love the way they tag that Optimistic outro that resolves into the In Limbo key tap intro in the context of Kid A album format....
every song of this album is a diferent and unique feeling.
Ed playing keyboard is amazing!!!
Here I am again.. this is just so beautiful I don’t want to go anywhere else xx
Kid A is my favorite Radiohead album ever! Never thought I would say that when it was released, but it is fantastic!
Radiohead has an unique ability to make weird rhythmic patterns easy to listen ✿
I guess my brain releases a lot of dopamine award for recognizing pattern this hard while spending so little energy on it
this is the main strength of their music imo
Well said!
@@missieklump3418 thanks. I'd long tried to find the right words 🥸
OMG I saw Radiohead at the Gorge in George, WA 2001 and while waiting in line they played this song during sound check...it sounded absolutely perfect and it was at that moment that it hit me...I'M ACTUALLY ABOUT TO SEE MOTHER-EFFING RADIOHEAD!!! Great memories.
Wooow, i felt the same waiting in line back in 2018 hearing them soundcheck.. but 2001. You’re very lucky.
I heard In Limbo being sound checked at Hollywood Bowl during In Rainbows tour August 2008
Ooh, you were there for the one and only time they played "Reckoner"/Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses! That's awesome
One of my Radiohead fav songs. Rythm, guitars..., Love Ed"s work at keybord...and backing vocals
What an incredible live band, on top of how amazing their music already is! It’s been my dream to see them live for a long time now
in limbo is one of my all time favorites, it’s beautiful
i love how this song can sound so spacy despite being pretty dry for most of it, mix wise, with the exception of the rhodes and snare reverb and the occasional tape delay for weird pitch effects jonny will quickly toggle on and off. reminds me of slint in a way, with how otherworldly and dreamlike it can feel while using fairly normal sounds in a very unusual way
it's cause it's about the music at its face, not any of the engineering or aftereffects. they could play the song live with very little effects and you'd get the same feeling. some rhythm, bass, electric guitar, and whatever that sound is like electric piano or something?
@@jackmace6531 If you're talking about the "beep, beep, boop, beep" thing throughout the song, then electric piano is right.
@@Christian-97 yeah. just figured it out, Ed's playing it in the background, next to Jonny
this album resonated with my soul, unexplainable yet psychedelic
On a spiritual level I feel that
Amazing performance. This is one of my favorite songs on Kid A which I don't think I've really seen them play live.
Wow. This song grows on you … took me ages, but once it clicked - when in dark moments - it helped me tremendously. Something about the lyrics - IM LOST AT SEA
I've found most radiosongs, and even the smile now, follow this same pattern. it takes a while to click, some songs takes longer than others. Buyt when it clicks, its incredible
@@AyyyGabagool Yep. Once The King Of Limbs clicks its like no other Radiohead album imo
It is impossible to play this song live. Yet here it is.
Why
This song is really underrated
I love this period in Radiohead's history. OK Computer was life-changing. Kid A & Amnesiac are understated in their brilliance. I saw them live a bunch of times during this period & always in awe. Thanks for sharing this video... I would love to see more from the Air Studios performance!
So lucky!!!!
In Limbo is an underrated gem.
Crazy this is 22 years old what legends.
Kid A was so ahead of its time. A lot of us weren't ready for it. Incredible work of art.
Magnificent bit of music, Kid A is a historical groundbreaking musical masterpiece
What an incredible song. Great live version.
this and optimistic are my favourite songs on kid a
@Matteo Torzolini The transistion might be one of the best moments in all of music, yet it only lasts for a couple of seconds. Crazy.
I listened to this and optimistic on loop on my cd Walkman while sitting in a student lounge at my college. I would study my engineering and stupid hard math while chilling to the mellow vibes of this. I’ll never forget all of those hours.
Thom sounds so true to the studio recording here! Amazing
absolutely flawless performance
Kid A was one of the first albums I purchased when I was 17 and forming my musical self. I've seen Radiohead only twice in concert but have certainly been shaped by this music over the years as my favorite band. Thank you Radiohead.
RADIOHEAD es lo mejor que he escuchado en toda mi vida. Espero siga habiendo mucho más producciones nuevas, porque todos sus escuchas, lo necesitamos. Saludos desde México!
Man, I love this song... Kid A was complete magic.
I wish they would play this one more often live!
This is a dream come true, thank you guys for posting this. One of my all time favorites.
My favorite track from Kid A...
Thoms as well apparently
Radiohead is very unique in their approach to the notion of "serving the song" instead of their individual contributions so they clearly prioritize the writing aspect in their music, according to Jonny Greenwood he is "more proud of what they have written than how he plays".
Nonetheless, it seems that they tend to contribute in some specific ways which elevate their tracks tremendously:
Thom Yorke - his teacher Terence Gilmore James described him as "thinker and experimenter", main songwriter, avant-gardist, very underrated in rhythm guitar
Jonny Greenwood - composer/arranger extraordinaire, the band's jack of all trades; he's arranging Thom's ideas and in my opinion he is most certainly one of the heavy hitting composers of the 21st century (not to mention his creative textures in guitar)
Ed O'Brien - the pedal wizard, he's very candid in his taste and one of the most underrated guitarists in recent history, secret sauce in their creative textures
Colin Greenwood - he's known as the peacemaker in the band, extremely underrated bassist, his rhythmic interplay with Jonny is often underappreciated but certainly elevates the songs tremendously
Phil Selway - the human metronome, he supports the band in every way, incredible at drum programming as well, he's like the skeleton of their music
Nigel Godrich - The best sixth man of all time
Stanley Donwood - RH is also very candid about their relationship with visual arts and usually this aspect contributes to the imagery of their songs tremendously without being aware, he's equally responsible for RH aesthetic
Radiohead, for me, is the perfect combination of selfless people who know what they like about music and have insatiable appetite towards exploring new realms by being fascinating musicians but avid lifelong learners at the same time...
this one has always been one of my favorite songs from kid a. what an hypnotic riff
Love this song definitely a fav of Kid A
Fucking brilliant!
i love this song

this is amazing wow i love that strange note jonny s playing
suddenly I'm nostalgic for this era when digital videos had 3-by-3-pixel resolution and I'd spend a few hours every week scouring youtube for radiohead live videos
Your videos have helped me reach over $300,000 in trading by age 24! Thanks Radiohead. Keep the videos coming. 👍🏽
Congrats .
I'm convinced that the big investors and analysts are trying to scare us to keep us poor and ignorant to the market.. because its steady doing good after all the jobless and market crash talks .
Congrats and wishing you the best

Kid A was a groundbreaking album🤍
Crazy to think this came out the same time I was born! My mum is a fan of them and then I discovered them on my own last year. It’s interesting hearing the older stuff compared to the new stuff.
Probably my favorite Radiohead song, which is obviously saying something.

I love to put people that truly deserve It in limbo. It is so rewarding and liberating. And this song is freaking awesome 💎

This is one of my favourite Radiohead songs ❤ I still think my favourite is the one from July 4th in Berlin, it’s on CZcams and Johnny’s guitar just takes me to another world on that one. But this also of course sounds amazing
Is it on their CZcams page?
The one on rock am ring is really really good as well
@@Tim-Dillon no it’s on a channel called ‘Guardofinsanity’. The video is just titled Radiohead - in limbo. No video just the audio but I’d really recommend giving it a listen, it sounds so amazing.
The same channel actually has all the songs from that gig, it’s one of my favourites. Amazing set list and every song just sounds incredible.

Wow, what a fantastic upload. One of my all time favorite Radiohead tracks, which I don't feel is often performed in a setting like this. Amazing!
You guys never cease to amaze me every day, thank you for this.
One of greatest space rock songs ever. Each time a different mind trip. Unspeakable. Te amo Réidiojed.

This is stunning. Simply enchanting, both the audio and visual expression. Don't ever change. This is what matters, and makes music worth it. Cheers from Norway.
What an unusual and ingenious track. No one can compare to Radiohead. Thanks gents! 🐐
My favourite radiohead song forever
Listening to Radiohead as its always been a cure when everything is so complex as in reality it is but simple and doesn't have to be that way. Heartaches.
Thank you for being the greatest band to ever exist

This song is such a nice throw back to radiohead with its mellow mood.
I remember feeling like I was floating in a downwards spiral listening to that riff for the very first time. Love every angle this vid was shot in, truly makes this video.
Revolutionary music and musicians , so authentic and unique 🌝
