Labour divided this country like no other government before it
Segregation, dehumanisation, and economic persecution never belonged in NZ.
It was always there I believe.
So very indicative of current times, where we 'forgot', despite reminders and ceremonies every single year. But it was indeed always there, in one form or another. One such example is the new cannabis oligarchy. Less than 0.1% get everything, and the majority get nothing.
Nz didn't suffer from group think, we suffered from think like this or else
Don't forget their income was on the line and for some it still very much is.
I saw people I thought had common sense get the Jacinda jab, stupid is as stupid does.

Do you mean the foreign owned paid with NZ tax Media Shysters who pushed those drugs ? To dumb kids listening to music radio stations. To the 6 o'clock TV addicts. Magazine letters to the Editor.

I would sum up the NZ Govt response as 'frightening'! The virus didn't scare me. To this day I've not had it once and I'm unjabbed. Authoritarian, punitive, amping up fear and setting citizens at each other, human rights abusing Govt who knew that jab didn't stop transmission...that's what was scary. Kiwis were sacrificed for political expediency. Another 3 years for Ardern. Disgraceful!
What I can't work out, as a dummy trawling through the internet with no medical knowledge whatsoever, is why the big-brained medical big-wigs couldn't recognise outlandish risk? The cost/benefit stunk, it really wasn't difficult. Completely bizarre

I’m with you on this one, I’m also unjabbed and not even had a sniffle since before 2020, plus I’m immune compromised. But I focussed on keeping my immune system in tip top shape and I think that’s is the best “Vaccination” I could give myself. I’m also not well off so…I’m a testament for how you don’t need a heap of money to keep healthy with out injecting yourself with unknown substances with unknown effects.
@NotSoAlarmed What if it did scare you? If it was 98% fatal even in the healthiest of people, and 10 x more easily spread than covid?
If a cobbled together rushed vaccine reduced that 98% down to 5%, would you take it?

This is genuine interest question. If a new pandemic came along, that killed 98% of people that contracted it, and was far more contagious than covid.... would you take a rushed and poorly tested vaccine that reduced the death rate to... say 5%??
I care. I was fired from my decades long career that took me 6 years to study/train for. We lost our home. Our children were shunned from after school activities and sports. Even out bloody puppy was barred from attending puppy school! And now we are paying exorbitant prices for taxes/food/rent as a direct result of these clowns COVID choices. Heads need to roll.

The million Kiwis who live overseas but travel to NZ regularly need to be considered in the new inquiry. NZs borders were closed to it's citizens whilst every other western nation was letting their citizens travel freely around the world. It was disgusting to see all my neighbours going to Spain, Dubai, France, Denmark etc for their holidays and they're asking my if I'm going home to NZ to see my dieing relative.... nah I'm not allowed. Meanwhile musicians and entertainers and friends of leadership are free to travel... but not Kiwis who want to be with their families to grieve and mourn. T_T
As someone who did not comply, I and many others, could not go on a train, a bus or a plane. No pubs, or clubs. We were marked. In other times, they did that too. Lest we forget.

I never heard that before so very true the amount if ingredients to make 2+2=5 is quite staggering when you learn about cultures and sequencing, talk about pseudo pseudo.
I didn't see group think by scientists, but I did see that who had opposing views were silenced, dismissed or villified.
Social media, ironically, had the same theme which spread like wild fire.

We are so far behind in our inquiry because,with the exception of Winston Peters,no other politician really cares about this,very unsettling…

I don't know, some of the conclusions reached are frightening ... this line in particular “There must be radical reform. Never again can a disease be allowed to lead to so many deaths and so much suffering” .. that alone tells me they want more extreme measures to stop deaths
@@sytharnia1717 Yes, such reform must start with the media in NZ. Without good information, democracy cannot function. What this infers, is that actual questions can be asked. That there is always more than one narrative, point of view, or opinion, with or without the alleged facts.

Kiwis dont really get upset by anything. The excess deaths continue, kiwis just shrug their shoulders. Rates of Cancers and Heart issues are high and growing. Will we do anything, nope. Will we complain a little bit, probably. Will we do the exact same things that we did in the last pandemic next time, absolutely.

I’m a kiwi but I decided long ago to break the mould and left for bigger and brighter pastures. When I come back, especially in winter it’s depressing and and dull and the people dress like they’ve got no pride. Sorry but that’s how I see my country now.

The New Zealand's governments actions over the covid period was internationally lauded and ranked as one of the most prompt and effective responses in the developed world. This is borne out by the very low death rate as compared to countries like the UK . As a kiwi living in the UK during the Covid period I was seeing this regularly in the media and from my English friends and colleagues. Unfortunately some people seem to have forgotten that.

The severity of groupthink in NZ probably surpassed any other country. Every other country had some kind of mainstream (usually right wing) dissent. Dissent in NZ, be it by academics or the average joe on the street, was likened to terrorism. A study showed the negative attitudes people have towards the unvaccinated, with Australians having the most negative view. NZ wasn't included in the study, but i'd bet we would blow every other country out of the water. We know it was groupthink and hysteria, but the degree to which it occurred in NZ is really worth studying.
