  • Tony Iommi's iconic riffs, heavy tones, and massively influential albums created the blueprint for heavy metal and many other genres to follow. His career, like the man himself, is universally loved and revered. And while his innovative tuning and playing styles were a major part of his monstrous tones, a heavily-modified 1964 Gibson SG was at the center of it all.
Now Gibson USA has made a guitar based on the iconic original that launched countless heavy riffs, with a mahogany body, bound mahogany neck with a rounded profile, Indian rosewood fretboard with 22 frets, a Graph Tech® nut, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with contemporary style buttons, and chrome-covered P-90 pickups. A reproduction of Tony's "Monkey" sticker is included in the case. A left-handed version is also available.

Sick Guitar-The only thing I don't like is the strap button on the horn all my S G's are in the back which just feels right. Those P90's are lit n will sound great in Drop C#

80s SGs ( I have one from each era) also had the strap button on the top horn - counters the neck dive when strapped up. Biggest diff is the very un SG fat ass neck. 🎸

*I’m always happy when I can find somebody else who loves to play Black Sabbath so I subscribe to your channel. 🎥🎙🎵🎶 Although I haven’t got the Tony Iommi signature SG, I do want to Gibson SG just for the fact that’s why Tony Iommi played as well as the way it feels when you play it.*

Kinda wish it had the crosses that his epiphone had but I understand this is trying to replicate his old guitar and not the epiphone.

Why tf does everyone play paranoid? Iommi had some of the most evil sounding tones in the 80s on born again and later. And you don’t demo what it sounds like playing heavy music which is what it’s meant for

This guitar was the one used during the Ozzy era… makes sense to play songs from that period lmao
