  • The Sad Decay of Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant came into the NBA as a young prodigy with nothing but potential. By 2014 he was the League MVP at the young age of 25. But exactly 10 years later, Kevin Durant has become a shell of his former self. Once one of the most beloved superstars in the game became a villain within the league.

I truly believe that even if KD had inevitably made all the same controversial decisions, his career legacy would look a lot different without Twitter. Social media destroyed the man’s psyche and overall happiness. Even his Golden State chips that get discredited wouldn’t look so bad if it wasn’t so obvious that it wasn’t worth it to him.
I honestly think the beginning of his discontent personality began with that “Kevin Durant is not nice” campaign with Nike. He just became a grumpy malcontent from that point on and it progressively got worse.
He’s a baller. He’s a pro. You can count on him to show up and play the right way. You just can’t count on him to be happy about it and you damn sure better be walking on eggshells around him because he needs to get his way at all times or else he might get bitter.

I am sick of this children story. KD career went downhill AFTER he left Golden state. In 3 years he won 2 nba with 2 fmvp, then he left to prove that he could win without Curry (if he wasnt so insecure, he wouldnt have even felt the need to still having something to prove) but ultimately proved the exact opposite while curry lifted his fourth ring.

@@NNoitraaHe didn’t leave to prove he could win without Curry. It had nothing ti do with Curry. He left because of the situation with him and draymond. Draymond pushed him out of Golden State. It sad because you can see this man could have been greater, but the Super Team era hit him hard. Lot of these guys could have been so much better, but once that Super Team Heat hit in 2011, everyone jumped onto the bandwagon of "Why work? When I could just coast to rings with the help of other top-tier talent?" and Durant was one of the absolute worst cases of that, not only did he coast, he coasted in one of the absolute worst ways. 100% this was his fault, his choice, his mistake, but if he actually worked for everything like he had been doing, he could have been so much greater.

One last resort….. in the words of Cody Rhodes… “ finish the story”
Ask for a trade back to OKC.
He has history there, he still arguably the best player to play for that franchise. SGA will be the emotional leader, all KD has to do is help seal the deal. it would be one of the biggest redemption stories in sports history. Fans and media will root for him to finally overcome those demons.

If KD stayed in OKC i believe he would have at least 1 chip. 2 imo. Most importantly, he would be viewed higher on the all time rankings. I believe he wouldve won it with OKC the year the Bucks on it which wouldve made him greater. Its becaause he had a very savy front office in OKC which became much better after the new CBA which benefitted front offices like OKC who can make intricate deals. Also he wouldve had more of a say in the front office as time went on. He needs a competant front office to succeed with a quality point guard. Hes a star that plays best amongst stars. He is capable of leading a team but i like him more with a quality piece because hes a better catch and shoot shooter than off the dribble. He is a better scorer in more fundamental and traditional styles of play and systems as opposed to isolation because he is immensely fundamental in his skill set and the ball moves more. Also he didnt give OKC the chance to choose a more modern coach and he didnt allow Russ to develop into the passing PG he became. What he didnt get is they were much closer to winning against GSW than they thought. Klay had a night for the Gods in game 6 i think.
