Dane moore and others have pointed this out, but a huge part of why he is so beloved is that wolves fans always latch on to longshot prospects because when you cant root for wins, you have to find something to root for. None of those guys ever really worked out, so when Naz was the one who finally did, it was a big graduation moment for the franchise and its fans. We have bigger things to root for now.
    Naz Reid.

Well, Jaden McDaniels also worked out. Nobody had huge expectations from him. He not only exceeded expectations, he solidified them by being in a starting 5. For example, this year, the Wolves drafted Leonard Miller, and he has a similar build like McDaniels. Can the Wolves make him McDaniels's twin? It's hard to say, so far he's putting good numbers in the G-League with 9 games played, averaging 17.7pts, 6.8rebounds and just over 1 block per game - all that in 30 minutes of play time per game.
McDaniels stands at 88kgs (194lbs) and 206cm (6' 7 1/2 '') and Miller is 95kgs(209lbs) at 208cm (6'8'') . Very similar body types. Miller seems more like Jarred Vanderbilt type of player.

Honestly, every sports franchise has that guy, and when they live up to their potential its an amazing thing. In 2022 when the padres' star shortstop got suspended for half the season, we had some relatively unknown korean player sub in for him. Everytime he's up to bat, the entire park is cheering his name. Fast forward about a year and that same unknown Korean player is outplaying guys on contracts that are 1/3 of a billion dollars and making a legit MVP case. It's always special to see an underdog that no analysts or commentators believe in make it big and prove everyone but the loyal fans wrong.

And if you knew anything about basketball regionally, that's pretty on-brand for Big Men coming from the New York/New Jersey area. Look up Tim Thomas from Villanova.

But I think he signed a smart deal because if the wolves don’t capitalize on the extremely short window available to them in the next year or two then if I were naz I would look to start elsewhere .
