you cant fool us doc. we know you dont wear pants
One of the underrated benefits of remote work lol
Are we even sure he has legs? 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Funny to think he could be wearing pajama pants and slippers for all we know lol
🤣😂🤣
damn bro my knee hurting right now just walking around target 😭 can’t even imagine being embiid’s height and weight

Out of all the athletes on the planet, I just don't understand how LeBron can do what he does without injuries.
Also cristiano he rarely gets injured and is always in top top shape despite his age
That is one of their gift. They know very well the limits of their body.
Sold his soul
body mechanics he lands perfect after every dunk/layup
Is called drugs
Whenever games start, Doc Brian already has the setup and software ready to record
Embid was like
👁️🗨️👁️
Joel has this common tendency of landing on one leg, whole weight on it. He also has a tendency to commit his whole body to moves and more often than not, he's crashing to the floor. Its not conducive.
He is also out of shape for a pro athlete. He looks like an average weekend gym goer.
You cant be 18% bodyfat and olay so many games and expect to be healthy.
so actually, he was taught to fall to avoid injury. and it has worked. he would be a lot more injury prone then he is if he wasn’t falling everytime
Once you lose that meniscus it never comes back. Debridement probably wasn’t a good choice for him. He should’ve just sat out until the next season.
Sometimes that's the only option. I doubt he and the medical staff are deciding to remove meniscus all willy nilly
Iirc he had a "flaptear" and it was most likely his only option, think Doc had a video about it on this channel a few months ago.
@@DustySticks Honestly you would be surprised how often things like that happen
@@DustySticksThat happens all the time because players and the medical staff want to rush back in order to play even though it might be harmful in the long term.
😕 Later in life he will walk with a limp.
Death, taxes, and Embiid getting injured are the 3 things you can count on in life.
don't forget Glass Davis out in la la land.
And basically Giannis too😂
@@Djohnson89 Kawhii says don't forget about me.
and Chris Paul
did AD failed you?
Damn. He has been getting injured like crazy. My problem with Embid is how he's that big and constantly falling to the floor. Nevertheless, this sucks. He's too good.
He falls because that stresses his knee less
Exactly. The falls are actually doctor ordered. It's less stress on the knees.
He could have learn something from Jokic
@@conan2k never jump?
@@hua..Luka don't jump either, those from Europe stick with the fundamentals. You can see in the video it is a risky jump into traffic.
One thing I want to point out outside of this incident is that while he does still throw himself to the ground there seems to be times where legitimately one of his legs (the left primarily) seems to just not be functional and he drops to his knees; I'm starting to think we're living through a moment of watching an athlete burn the simple function of said body part to the ground to a point that I fear how his legs will serve him even a couple years post retirement.
Lasting Leg injuries are something prevalent in many NBA athletes and especially nba bigs but I dont know if I've ever seen someones leg continually, and admittedly just from my outside perspective, seem to cease core function.
Dikembe Mutombo, Yao Ming and Patrick Ewing. That's what happened to them. Yao's walk to the HoF stage was very difficult to watch. Pat doesn't make public appearances because of it and Kimbe can barely walk up stairs.
@@thequixoticangler3364 yeah watching them hobble around is always a bit sad

Thank you Doc- appreciate your updates.
Thanks for yet another clear and thoughtful explanation of what we saw during the game. I've seen a number of your videos and you've been very accurate - appreciate these a lot.
How about how his right eye was closing but left eye wasn't?
He got poked in the eye at the start of the game
Na he kept doing it during free throws later in the game. I doubt that’s from being poked in the eye
@@TylerAvakian no he didnt, he was having the same issue with his eye during warmups before the game. Its a reaction to whatever they shot him up with to help play through the pain.
hes pumped with drugs to play through the knee injury
it's from the vaxx
This will never stop happening to Embiid. It’s unsustainable for the playoffs, and also the rest of his career. 300lb dudes pushing 30 years who have been unhealthy for a decade old do not suddenly become pillars of health.
If Embiid does decide to play Game 2, and it looks like he's going to, and then they lose again, and Embiid once again aggravates that knee, I would shut it down. This would be insane. Because if the Knicks win again in a series that the 6ers are looking to win, this series is going 6 or 7 games. There is no way that Embiid can survive against such a tough D as the Knicks have for that long.
Embiid needs to think long term. I know that he wants to be there for the team but this is just too much.
Philadelphia is going to squeeze every second out of that man's legs until his contract is done.
@@patrickoakley7890 RG3 and Embiid will share the same legacy. Absolute negligence by the organization they play for, followed by becoming a cripple forever.
@@loudnoises5372 Joel has already had 100x the career of RGIII
If you are 280 pounds and always going at the limits of your athleticism, you are always going to get injured. Look at Jokic and see a man about the same size who plays well within his limits and he very rarely gets injured. Jokic walks through a lot of his movements. He conserves his energy for when he really needs it. And he has a game that fits within his physical limitation. He knows how to protect his body in the game of basketball. Embiid's problem is he relies on the maximum effort for every movement he makes. Joel, Zion, Giannis, KAT, even Larry Bird and skinny Ja, yeah, it sure is entertaining to watch them but all of these guys are wearing out their bodies prematurely by not learning how to move efficiently and by always performing so close to their limits. MJ changed his game. Embiid needs to do the same.
Absolutely. The fact Embiid consistently lands on one leg instead of 2 doesn't help at all
Nick nurse playing him the full 1st quarter and then even the full 3rd quarter after the injury is wild... the sixers showing they couldn't careless about Joel's future 3-4 yrs from now they willing to sacrifice his knees n body for a slim to none chance this season 😵😵
Can't have him leave if he doesn't have a career to play with anymore 🤣
Because he's more of a gamer than people give him credit for, I'm sure he was lobbying to play. Kevin McHale once destroyed his body playing on a broken foot in the playoffs. Unlike a lot of couch jockeys on here, these players understand that they might never have the chance again, from year to year. You go for it right now. Embiid just ain't right, he shouldn't be out there. Hopefully didn't do permanent damage.
This is pathetic…embiid got hurt because he started doing all types of tricks….just get rebounds, post up, shoot fadeaway and 3s…
You're acting like Embiid has no sense of agency. He's out there because he wants to be!
No 1 made him play. As an athlete you always want to play.
As a Knicks fan, I hope he gives himself the rest of the series to recover fully...
Has Doc Sutterer reviewed KneesOverToesGuy? I wonder if he could be helpful for guys like Kawhi, Embiid, AD in terms of stability and endurance through these long seasons
i promise you their trainers have tried literally everything possible
I’m starting to think Philly’s medical staff has something to do with it too
Everybody else on the team be healthy all year
@@JASONTHEGAMER377They have a history of mishandling their athletes I.e. Embiid, Fultz
@@SekeU852 people isnt data my guy 😭
As a philly fan, its just pain. Always pain. I didnt have high expectations at the beginning of the season anyways so it wouldnt be the worst news, but its not worth his long term health
Someone in Philly needs to tell that man that no one who’s 7’1, 300 lbs, 30 years old and injury prone should be playing like Tracy McGrady.
@@gnomechomsky2524 yeah he needs to watch Tim Duncan highlights. That dunk he did was one of the craziest plays I've ever seen, especially for someone his size. It is not long sustaining.
Serious changes are gonna be made this offseason, I imagine acquiring another star is a legitimate plan so they can reduce his workload.
@@mattiej2311 Duncan, Dirk, and Jokic. All those guys proved you don’t need crazy athleticism to dominate the game. Giannis finding out the hard way, too.
Yeah I'm glad you mentioned Giannis, he pretty much injured himself last year going for a ridiculous dunk attempt.
@@gnomechomsky2524 facts. Joel needs to go full skill-mode, no more trying to use athelticism. He’s gotten better with it (only 17 dunks this year), but dunks like this are just instinct sometimes.
A playoff tradition
Embiid play too reckless. He has no business trying that move knowing he is recovering for a knee injury 🤦🏽♂️
I never understood why they remove part of the meniscus, to me it only made my knees worse
short term gain. doesn’t matter if your body’s shot if you are an nba champ… or at least that’s what the sixers think.
there probably wasn't an option to do otherwise, it wasn't actually going to heal so if he didn't want to just retire they had to go with this option.
Because they're absolute idiots that don't know how the body heals itself. They rather remove something instead of figuring out how to fix it
His knees are going to hurt like hell in a few decades
I tried to say trade and good bye to sixers, but after hurting butler.I don't care about sixers .They are the worst in NBA
What do you think about Kawhi Leonard's situation where he has swelling in his right knee where he's had two prior surgeries but played 68 games this season.
He had an MRI on it a week ago and they said it looks structurally sound but he has swelling for three weeks and received a cortisone shot.
Doc, when he was staring up to the heavens, his right eye kept blinking while his left eye never blinked, what is that?
that is what is called a wink
But why would he be winking in that moment

Sometimes players have to give themselves more time to heal as trams pressure them to come back to play. So many analysts were saying he was only 70% ready. This is the only thing I give credit to Kawhi Leonard. Sometimes you have to take the time you need to heal
Hope Embiid gets better. I wonder if at this size, getting the same knee injured again might have long term effects
short and small people live longer and stay mobile better
You're the type that would say, "guys with small peekers make love the best". 😂
According to Randy, Short people got no reason to live.
Have you any more thoughts on Anunoby and the situation with his elbow?
For as skilled as he is, I think he really needs to just adjust his play style a little bit. Would be an absolute waste to see his career not reach greater heights coz of these injuries. With his height and weight, he really can't keep coming down hard on his knees. And again, with how skilled he is, I really don't think he needs to play this way to be as effective as he should be.
I think he should just sit out until he’s fully healed. It’s better not to risk a lifelong or career ending injury.
Knicks got lunch
was it caused (from watching your videos in the past) based on how he landed on his foot where his ankle was leaning inward? Thanks for answering Dr great videos always!
Hes coming back from injury and dunked off the backboard. He has the bag to not need to use his athleticism. Hope he's actually alright and didn't just get pumped with toradol.
the expression on is face and the look in his eyes tells me he was pumped with something....if so im ashamed to be a sixer fan knowing they would risk a mans well being to play hurt in a game...
I know its unrelated, but I was kind of hoping that you were gonna touch on that weird one eye blinking he kept doing
Thats just Embiid being a doofus
Pain was so high it went from knee to eye lids immediately 😂😂😂
Got hit in the face messed up his contacts
Or touch on how being out of shape is also a factor here
@@MutedGrowl Well... It's kinda hard to get in tip-top playing condition while you're recovering from knee surgery. Plus, him deciding to even return so soon is a tough dilemma with the playoffs looming. He probably was advised to sit the early rounds out and heal up, in case they made it to the later rounds without him. However, being as unselfish as he is said to be, Embiid decided to bite the bullet and give it a go anyhow, to help his team now.
@brian sutterer why is that embiid's left eye not blinking simultaneuosly with his right eye?
I mean, he is a doctor. Fair question!
I'm not a doctor but most likely it's was a nerve spasms in his right eye..we all get that every now and again..that means your blood is flowing rapidly
His knee is done bro. Straight glass
Think so to friend
Embiid is damaged goods. Philly needs to trade him for draft picks
Draft picks for more bust ? 😂😂😂 Philly is the worst team at draft picks and I have receipts. Exclude Maxey and Sixers have at least 4 lottery pick bust in the 2010-2020. Not too mention max contracts on bum players
how is bro so fast 💀
He’s like the fabrizio Romano of reporting injuries 😂#herewego
@@Lastnameabdi haha lol good one
He's fast in the bedroom too
Dr.'s are so much less useful if they arent fast. They're a lot like hatchbacks in that way.
@@pretzelhunt Why hatchbacks catching strays 😭
Explain this, Doc.. Why was Embiid's left eye blinking but not his right eye when he was on his back on the floor?
As heavy and injury-plagued as Embiid is, if he hopes to stick around and still be effective, he'd better learn to play more like Tim Duncan, and Jokic. More deliberate and methodical, but less explosive.
joel remminds me of greg oden - a really tall heavy guy. and he looks like he has flat feet and *maybe* different length legs too.
not good for longevity. guys build like him but his bone structures are not like shaq, yet he's athletic. super dangerous combo.
He's not Greg Oden dude was on pace to unanimous mvp
crazy how bro somehow always becomes better after an injury
Brian- Do you think his two aggressive steps contributed to the injury?
In all the practices and training they do over a season
do the NBA players ever get any instruction on how to land safely?
One thing I have noticed is players sometimes getting injured because after they released a shot they focused on watching to see if the ball went in instead of focusing on landing safely.
Embiid injured....i think its good they hired a nurse.
Gr8 review of the incident. Do you think this could force him to come off the Olympic team???
I believe that if he plays today, with the same intensity, the chance of an injury again is very high
I just had a tibia platu fracture it’s terrible. Praying for Joel
Dr. Brian, why you do the thumbnail like that?? 😅
Anyone else more worried that he was only blinking one eye??
When I first saw it I thought maybe he hit his head when he went down. But then the replay showed he didn't. So I suspect it was just him being in pain and shock and fear of another injury after just having surgery.
He was scratching his eye the whole game too (before the injury) so not sure what it was
Kept doing it in warmups before the game too. Im guessing its a reaction to whatever drugs they shot him up with before the game.
@@AB21 This man is filled to the gills with some insane cocktail of drugs, if they start him next game (Regardless of who's decision it is) they are out of their minds.
@@loudnoises5372 the fact that they have to give him hardcore drugs other than a cortesone shot tells me they already are out of their minds....the Sixers have completely wasted the raw talent of Embiid the most dominant center in Philadelphia 76ers history....how you ask? the glenn rivers hiring, the ben simmons saga, the markese fultz comedy year, the al horford experiment, brett brown, on and on and on and on...the process has completely now imploded...were cooked and were well done...
Only one eye was blinking
He plays legendary but lands like a novice😂✌️
I had meniscus surgery left.knee medial side..now i need my lateral side done n my lcl might be fucked. I didnt rehab right came back as scheduled they gave you a 6-8weeks recovery time which i believe is too short.
Props to Embiid.
He tries very hard.
But he needs to be smart, plays like that should be absolute no-no.
Tie clip with a big checked shirt is not welcome. Tie clips are only to be used with classic, very smart shirts. Thin vertical stripes, Oxford tiny checks shirt, or, obviously, plain white/blue shirts
They say he's available for this series, so I'm assuming no swelling happened this AM? I feel like he'll be dealing with this indefinitely
That was a ridiculous play.... I thought he did it on a missed shot when I saw the live replay... I looked away from the game for a sec and did not see it.
Ive got a partial removal from my miniscus and the pain he has is because of the bone edema...
Always land on your two feet, not 1 foot. Or do a tippy tap when landing. Embiid, Zion and Drose does the same thing when landing, landing with only 1 foot., thus the injuries..
There was blood on his knee after coming back. It was a non contact injury so I’d not see why that knee would be bloody other than if they were putting needles into it. What kind of stuff would they be injecting while he’s in the locker room? And can this lead to further damage in any cases?
Doesn’t it depend on if it’s the Lateral Meniscus or the Medial Meniscus. I know there is a the ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL
He needs hashirama cells
Embid needs to drop at least 50 pounds.
Exactly
Embiid takes care of his body the way I work out everyday which is I don't 😂😂😂
feel bad for embiid. i feel like we are getting robbed from one of the greatest big men to ever play the game. i would like to see him get a chip. it seems like they have to bubble wrap the guy until the playoffs because the regular season is too much of a grind.
Can you explain how this is different than Karl Anthony Towns? They both had meniscus surgery, was it jut recovery time? Or different injuries
Are we possibly looking at careless malpractice by the franchise because, it looks to me like he was simply rushed back for the playoff run. Now, going forward, are not the 76ers potentially looking at Embid NEVER having a normal left-knee vis-a-vis the meniscus situation? Can we truly expect him to "return to normal" and even potentially play a full season anymore with that knee at 30yrs of age?
76ers did rush him to compensate for terrible supporting cast along with terrible draft picks
He’s done as a first option. Not because he’s not talented enough but the debridement he had done is just not going to allow it. If Morey is smart and or has the balls he’ll deal him elsewhere while he still can. Embiid would serve better playing next to someone that can shoulder more of the load.
@@7eventy4u Actually, your point is a good one, especially if Embid is going to be approaching dealing with a dysfunctional left-knee moving forward. He could reach the point down-the-road where he's at "bone-on-bone" and can't play anymore in a couple of years but, in the meantime, they do their best to sell him as "mostly healthy," and move him while he does still hv value. I just don't see that happening. They'll probably attempt to "rehab" him in the off-season and give it a go again in '24/'25. The Philly media is portraying this as having "avoiding a scare" whereas, I think, best case scenario, he plays at 75/80%! Worst case, he continues to damage it further and doesn't finish the series!
yes most definitely
@@edkiely2712They might as well keep him now. The past 3 years he always gets injured in the playoffs. This isn’t the first time this has happened to them, more like the 5th time. And they always bring him back.
Does anyone know why his left eye doesn’t blink. Since last game he jas been wearing sunglasses during the day and during the game, we can clearly see that his left eye doesn’t close, which is kinda scary…
He had bleeding when he came back on that knee what do you think they did while he was in the locker room?
Shoutout to LeBron for dunking for 20+ years and knowing how to land properly.
Blake played wit a similar injury for the pistons in the playoffs and he never recovered . I hope Embiid stays up
Embiid always seems to land on his legs flat footed with so much force. I hope he does not get injured again.
pretty sure his physios have explained all this to him ultimately him an d the coaching staff decide whether its worth the risk. they cant win the east without embiid i suppose the goal was to sweep the knicks now thats not an option anymore so his minutes very likely get managed, may try to take it to game 7 with him getting his minutes managed away and playing more at home or they could try to push and win next 4 so they get, potentially, extra rest. it'll be interesting to see which way they go thats of course on the notion that his injury doesnt exorbitate
Doc why his one eye not blinking?
Call Ben Patrick, STAT!!!!!
Do a video about his eyes, whats wrong with them
He should of grab the rim to brace the landing smh
NHL playoffs are starting tonight Doc, keep us up to date on the brutality of playoff hockey!!
Nah he good
Here’s what I don’t understand. He used to play volleyball right? How are his landing mechanics so terrible. Also at his size he didn’t need to do the backboard alleyoop. He could have just done a regular dunk. They’re both worth 2pts
He played in like junior high, back in Cameroon.
He never played any high level volleyball, he was playing in some junior rec league.
But yeah his landing mechanics are horrible, he keeps landing on one leg, not sure how his trainers haven't taught him how to land properly..
Or just to hang on the rim a bit, till he gets himself together and activates his mind to land with both feet ..
It looks like he slightly stepped on Robinson' s foot when he came down
Can you please do a video on wtf is up with his eyes? I feel like that’s why he’s not looking at the cameras during post game
Tell me why Embiid would do this circus dunk knowing full well that his knee isn’t 100%
Brandon Roy, penny hardaway, grant hill, Greg oden, etc. add embid to this list. Careers plagued with injuries. Unfortunately his career will but cut short like the players of the past
Can you explain the bleeding in the knee area? did the surgery sutures open up, I thought meniscus would be under the skin between the bones!!
Like the Knicks let Julius Randle fix his shoulder the sixers should have let him be his knee. He may never be the same again.
Just throw this playoffs for now and come back next year.. you know you cant win this year with how Embid is injured.. so let the guy heal, come back better next year..
Exactly. Why risk your franchise players future? Could they win it all this year possibly but very unlikely. It’s been 1 game and it’s been reaggravated and it can only worsen from here assuming they go deeper into the playoffs. They should just call this season a wash and let him fully heal.
They should but they wont. Absolute 🤡 show.
Embiid had no business even attempting that move. There's a reason that despite being one of the best in-game dunkers in NBA history, we rarely see LeBron dunk on people. He knows it isn't worth the risk. As a pro athlete, you gotta know your body and play within its limits.
I noticed some blood by Embiid’s Knee
yeah he probably tore some stitches there
Here we go again 🤷🏼♂️😭
I am convinced that this guy has a tie on every instant that an NBA game is ocurring. Hes spends his sundays with a suit and tie
Doc that's a mean Title to the video. But I agree. He might not make it thru this series
I blame Embiid’s inability to take care of his knees on the court. He’s always twisting his damn knees and landing on one foot. He does this to himself
He was moving well before that. It wasn't a great landing, but it wasn't egregiously bad where it should warrant that response. It's been 10 weeks since the surgery. Is it possible is knees are just fucked regardless of how long he rests?
Yes, yes it can😢
Kawhi Leonard: “Hold my beer 🍺 “
What kind of procedure do you think Embiid had in January? Perhaps his meniscus was removed?
Doc telling us truth about the injury Cool doc.
