    Important point: the facial weakness just means the facial nerve (cranial nerve 7) is affected. This can be from many things, but ‘bells palsy’ is the diagnosis when doctors can’t find a specific cause for why the nerve is affected. So this may be Bell’s palsy or something else they can identify as the trigger (virus, trauma, autoimmune, etc etc)

    100% Bell's Palsy, I was diagnosed with the same issue 8 weeks ago. My face looks exactly the same. It's tough to fully close your affected eye, so I am shocked he is not wearing eye protection. Also, the cranial nerve 7 is connected to the nerve that produces eye tears, so your eye is constantly dry (you can easily scratch your cornea). Initial treatment is a combination of Prednisone and an antiviral called Valtrex. Total respect for Embiid. Bell's Palsy can be caused by Lyme disease, Cold Sore (Herpes simplex virus), Stress, Diabetes, and more. The funny thing is that there is no way to diagnose you with Bell's Palsy; they need to test for everything in the book that can cause face paralysis, and if everything comes back negative, then you will get the Bell's Palsy Diagnosis. 8 Weeks and counting hopefully Embiid heals without any issue.

    • @francisco.garcia
      @francisco.garcia Před 14 dny +1

      I don't know why they call it a mild case, maybe because the eye and the mouth are not sagging. For me, a mild case will last 3 or 4 weeks, but there is no way to predict the outcome. In some cases you never regain full movement of that side of your face.

    As someone who has had Bell's palsy twice, from the images shown, it would appear that is what he is suffering from. Treatment is very simple and requires steroids to reduce the inflammation that is causing issues with the 7th cranial nerve. As long as he is receiving some sort of treatment the prognosis should be very good for a full recovery. This is something that you can still play with and still heal from at the same time.

    Bells Palsy maybe? Famous wrestling announcer Jim Ross struggled with it on and off for about 5 years but it was never noticeable until he had a bad case of it in 1998 and it finally caused permeant damage to his speech and facial muscles. Before 1998 Jim would just look a bit like he had a bad case of allergies and puffiness around on side of his face but his speech was never impaired.

Eventually it's time to retire. You have enough money and opportunity to live peacefully and lower the chances of serious medical issues.
