- I found a old chisel without a handle at garage sale. It was a socket type chisel that requires a tapered tenon. From a piece of recycled oak I turned a new wooden handle.

+Günter Schöne Guten Tag. How is everything on good ole Germany? We visited there in August and September. It was unusually hot, but had a good time. Auf Wiedersehen. Thanks for watching.
I have been making a socket chisel every day for many months. It took me a while to find the shape that is in this video. I would call that the "Stanley Everlasting Chisel" handle shape. That is now a favorite of mine.

Howdy Clark! That sounds amazing and fun. I will make a note of the name of the handle. Thanks...cheers.
thanks cip.I have a lathe that broke (it was really cheaply made) I m wondering what kind of lathe you use and what you might reccomend for a middle of the road priced lathe.Thank you sir.
+steve schaff Hello Steve! I had a total of five lathes. I still have three: a mini Jet, a Nova 8 speed and a Nova DVR-XP. They are all splendid but I greatly enjoy the DVR-XP. I still like to turning on the other two. You need to decide what you want to turn. You can turn small stuff on a large lathe. But you can't turn large stuff on a small lathe.
What lathe are you using?
Hello Richard! I turn most things in my videos on a Nova DVR-XP. I like this lathe very much, especially for the speed control and torque at low speeds. Like many wood turner I held onto some of my previous lathes: Nova 1624-44 and a Jet mini-lathe. Thank you for your question.
PS I think the Nova lathes are sold in Europe under the name "Record Power".
Is it supposed to be a mystery what you glue the handle on with??? Every video I watch, never shows the actual attachment of the handle )
Howdy Mr. Wails! Sorry I did not mention it. Socket type chisel handles do not require any glue. They are tapered just like a wood lathe spur or tail center. The more you pound on it the tighter it gets. Cheers
Thank you Mr Cip's! One more mystery nicked off the list (
