I was dying to get into your box of clothes to see what might fit you now. I bet you are close. I love going through boxes and sorting. I have a bunch of giveaways, all packed. I need to get my butt in Gear and take them to the distribution centers. My favorite two finds you pulled out was the Audrey Hepburn doll and the photo of you and your girlfriends. That photo captured such a great moment. Your girl shed will have some cute decor, once it’s built. Hugs, judy.
It sounds like such an awful task - sitting in the sun, sorting through the dusty detritus of my life. I'm actually enjoying the process, and I'm suprised how good it feels to say goodbye to paperwork, hoarded clothing, and all the rest of it. I found a collection of cute cotton tops that will fit in about 20 pounds. I bought them in 2000, and they still had the price tags!
@@cherylcoyote I remember some cute things you bought that were bohemian style. Does that ring a bell? I think before your mom died. You need to track them down. I bet they might fit…or be too big even.

It's nearly dusk here and I'm still sitting outside the container, sifting through my junk. I was right about the volume of declutter - about half of it will go immediately. It's obscene how much Christmas crap I have - many, many Costco tubs full of the stuff. What was I thinking!? I don't even decorate for the holidays anymore. I'm honing it down to the decor I inherited from my mom, anything the kids made or I made, and some odds and ends from my early 20s. Everything else is getting packed up by theme and will end up at a yard sale, then donated. Whew, this feels great!
Love that telephone! I still have a landline, just can’t seem to let it go. That photo of you and your friends in lawn chairs reminded me of a photo I have of me and my siblings and a neighbor friend sitting in lawn chairs like that. I was probably 7 years old. I’m 62 now. 😁
I've tagged this winter to sort photos. I'm going to make an annotated album for my grandson, the same as my mother did for my boys. Plus, I'll start the laborious task of digitizing the photos and home movies. Will anyone care? Probably not. Oh well, the things we do for love.🤣
Just from seeing the first few minutes, I'm screaming Ebay!! I watch a few resellers of old things and that stuff fits right in with the things they sell

I'm having fantasies of snuggling up by the woodstove in my neat and well ordered house, with its carpets fresh, walls papered, furniture polished, and its storage buildings half empty!

Thank you! I've always loved olive green. Yes, the store will open, but I'm dedicating this summer to putting my home life in order. Once I'm closing in on that I'll turn my attention to becoming a shopkeeper again😊 My mother taught me to love old things. She had a marvelous eye for beauty. In fact, we had planned to run the store together. Now it's a bucket list item for me. Fisher Price? That's possible - I'll let you know if I unearth any.

Yeah, My parents had a lot of family stuff, but my grandparents were the real hoarders. He was a garbage man - owned the contract - and stuffed his warehouse full of fascinating castoffs. After he passed no one else in the family was interested in the hoard but me. Needless to say, it all ended up here! Take care and safe travels!
I need to do the same... even though I lost everything in that fire a bit ago now... it is quick to accumulate things... but then I think a few times before I stuff toss then and it makes it hard to get rid of stuff... but in reality the ridding of stuff , the things that are not quality stuff... well, that is liberating and doesn't weigh you down... Oh gosh, I do the same. An item will move from pile to pile - 'keep', 'save for grandson', 'yard sale' and finally 'donate'. I think that's a normal way to say goodbye to our no longer needed possessions. I really am having a ball with the whole process. I've taken today to work in the yard, but my fingers are itching to get back over to those piles and piles of junk!
Hi Andrea! It's been slow and steady. Tomorrow will be one full year of dedicated lifestyle change and 92 pounds gone. Whew, I never thought I'd be able to say that! I'm probably a bit over halfway through the journey. The hardest part will be knocking over a convenience store to pay for the skin surgery. (Kidding! Just kidding!)🤣

Hi Kathy! Yes, this is the year for sorting and clearing. It feels so good! I've lost 91 pounds since last June 6, 2023. My hoped-for goal was 100 and while I won't quite make it I feel entirely successful. When I make the 100 mark I'm having a party!

Outside of really close family, I rarely find out about someone's passing until months, sometimes years later. I'm going to keep those cards, if for no other reason than to remind myself how civilized people should behave.😊
Yay! I was just about ready to start working with a personal trainer for some serious strength training, then - BAM! - Mallory got sick and I spent my entire savings on ER Vet, followup visits, etc. Oh well, my little dog deserves to be well cared for. Maybe I'll sit out on the porch and lift her over my head a few times a day.🤣
My husband and i need to go through our garage ,basement, and upstairs to get rid of what i call junk that we have accumulated in the 41 years we have been married.
