    Wow! You have been a busy lady. I love all roses. Fancy tea roses, wild shrub roses, vigorous climbers or healthy rootstock, it doesn't matter. As long as it blooms, it's a keeper.

      So true! Although, Home Depot finally got wise and baracaded their dumpster to make is much harder to rescue plants. Bummer!

    Your roses and flowers are beautiful. Thanks for the walk through of your garden. I needed to see something beautiful and full of life today. I’m feeling kind of weepy today and missing my husband that I lost in February.

      Margurite, I'm sorry that you're feeling the recent loss loss of your husband so acutely right now. When that awful feeling rises up and knocks you off your feet you wonder when the pain is finally going to blunt. You'll be on my mind this week.

    Free plants, always a win! You need a hammock for a nice out door snooze in that weather 😁

      I have a funky old convertable sofa on the front porch. It needs desperately to be reupholstered, but it provides a comfy place to curl up with the dog.😊

      I've been having a great time working outside this Spring. Looking forward the dormant Summer months with a tidy yard and plenty of projects to accomplish.😊

    What a fun tour of your garden! I got a few of those bulbs at the 99 cent store too and tucked them into a few pots here and there and I too can't wait to see the results... The weather has been glorious here too... we are so lucky to live in this part of California. Has anyone told you today that you are an inspiration? Well you are my friend! Have a great evening!

      Awww, thanks sweetie! I'm just so thrilled to be back on my feet I can barely contain my gratitude and enthusiasm. Agreed, California has put on quite a show this Spring, although the wildflowers have been hit or miss. Our hillsides here are blanketed with gorgeous pink Farewell-to-Spring right now.

    Hi Cheryl! Love the garden tour! I love the rambling 🌹! I’m hoping to get my window boxes planted this weekend. If I can find some, I’m going to try putting in some Spanish lavender. I read that they can take the Texas heat & humidity. ❤🪻🌸🌺

      I hope you find the Spanish lavender. It's planted all over our area for the same reason.

      Grandfather on my dad's side was a garbage man and a hoarder. He was like a racoon, always dragging shiny stuff back to his warehouse. My life is filled with other peoples' vintage castoffs, including this plethora of lanterns. I blame my hoarder tendancies on DNA!😁

    I love roses. Especially climbers. Alas I am a rose murderer. Yes I admit it. I have lost my thumbs in the garden. Doesn’t stop me from being a repeat offender. Hugs thst you retained your thumbs over the years.

    • @cherylcoyote
      @cherylcoyote  Před 3 měsíci

      Oh my gosh, yes! I'm a repeat offender as well when it comes to murdering plants. My roses always revert to rootstock and I shudder to remember how many rosemary and lavender plants have perished under my dubious care.

    What do you do with the stinging nettle? I ran into a chunk in my garden and was in quite an uncomfortable state for a day! Always looking around for it now.

    • @cherylcoyote
      @cherylcoyote  Před 3 měsíci

      I make tea with the dried leaves and use it fresh in soups. Drying or cooking it denatures the sting. I often handle it without gloves because the sting, however painful at first, calms down to a warm glow and alleviates arthritis pain.
