Traded in my Challenger Scat Pack for various reasons and got an Elantra N - I love how nimble this car is, how fun it is to drive on the road, the exhaust never gets old, definitely cool to have a "rare" car on the road - you don't see many of them, and the gas mileage is an added bonus!😝Great review - and for anyone at all interested in one... test drive it, and you'll be SOLD!😎 ALSO the warranties are great, and these have kept their value pretty well... but I didn't buy this car for resale, I bought it to drive it!!🤪
Hell yeah!!!
When is the N version going to be released ?
@@BrittonBecerra I have a 2023, but the 2024s have started arriving to dealers within the past month in the US!
@brittonporter3739 this is the N version. What are you asking???
@@thedragon6499 Don't yell at him
the bottom trim is grey color only if you chose red paint, otherwise its still red trim for every other color
the red + the face lift is a big improvement. I'd consider getting the wheels refinished silver just because I don't like the black but do appreciate that they're forged. nice update all around.
The best looking Elantra N, '24 design in red. Awsome!👍
the KDM DCT comes standard with full suite of highway driving assistance smart cruise control
Red on Grey interior w. the gloss Black rims 🔥 🔥
This any day over the Civic Type R. Overpriced civic ain’t worth it
You’re smoking pipe, the Type-R is a flat out better car.
@@dasmg for 20k more and its still a fwd 4 cylinder. not worth the delta.
@@myon-it will be worth having the reliability on that civic tho. These things go through the turbos quick
@@myon- where are you getting the Elantra N for 25k USD? Not to mention the Type-R has been creeping back down towards MSRP for a while now, and if you’re like me you barely paid over 30k for your FK8. However, i know prices went up, and that being said if both cars were at MSRP I’d still take the FL5 at 45k every single time.
@@dasmgits slightly better but you pay WAY more to get one.
Great review!
One of the most desirable aspects of the EN is that you have 3 levels of individual adjustability for the engine, DCT, steering, dampers, exhaust, ESC, and even the LSD. Yet even when you felt the ride was too firm and the steering was too heavy in N mode, you didn't even point out that what's great about the car Is that you can go right into the menu while in N mode, and put the dampers and steering into normal setting.
Which leaves everything else in full aggressive mode, but gives you a more compliant ride, and a lighter steering feel.
That's the whole beauty of the N.... And not only did you not show us by actually going into the N screen and actually adjusting any of those items, But you didn't even mention that the car has this feature.
How do you go through a 10 minute review and Not even mention or bring up that the car has individual settings for 7 different performance items.
If you didn't know that the car had that feature, then you should not be reviewing it. And if you did know, I can't believe you didn't even bring it up.
lol so true. Huge part of the car and the car experience for the owner and he didnt even gloss over it
@@blakesupinger7433 Yessir...He reviewed it like it was a freakin Camry, completely overlooking everything that makes the N special. Oh well.. That's why we have Throttle House, Doug Demuro, the Smoking Tire, and other proper enthusiast channels to give viewers the full 411.
Well idk if you've noticed but this guy is not the best car reviewer. Very nice guy but his videos aren't meant for detailed reviews. You gotta go to the other guys... Redline reviews, raitis rides, the ones you mentioned etc. I have always found it funny how he mentions how good the handling is simply by going thru a roundabout at 25 mph 😂
He never goes near full throttle on any car either which is kinda lame
What did you expect? He’s a run of the mill car reviewer.
I just wish they updated the veloster N with an interior like this before discontinuing :(
If they would have kept the VN in production, and evolved the interior similar to the EN, It would be parked in my driveway right now.
In 2021 I liked the fact that the sport package came standard, offering a standard 275 HP. And the seats were a huge upgrade in 2021.
But I just couldn't deal with that 20-year-old looking interior... Especially that tacked on "screen"with the thick black bezels that looked like some sort of Garmin Nav from the late '90s.
But I love the exterior styling of the VN! Which is the complete opposite of the EN. Believe it or not, I live in Miami, and there's tons and tons of rich kids down here, yet I'm still to see even one Elantra N on the road anywhere ever.
Not at a dealership, not while driving, nowhere. I'm sure it looks better in person, just like most cars, But the styling of the VN was awesome. If only they kept making it with I'm more modern looking interior... They wouldn't be able to hang on to them.
@@Daveyboy_GolfR I totally agree! I dont think the EN looks "bad" but im just not a fan of full size sedans, the hot hatch form factor of the VN was perfect, it just needed an update
I would definitely take this color, I don’t like the red accents on the other ones
Are the seat more narrow than the 2023 model or the same I’m looking to pick one up this year but can’t decide on the year I like the look of the 2023 but I take everything inconsideration
I hate it be hard to find these N at the Hyundai car lots tho
Just order one.
I had to order mine
The red looks more subtle than the rest of the colours.
Can you explain what a hot hatch sedan is? Those are 2 different types of vehicles
Its N grin shift buddy.
I like this car the body looks better than the previous year the sides or more sutle not those big triangles sides
Hyundai finally went with very good looking wheels. The previous ones have been too out there imo.
This reviewer obviously knows little about the elantra N. The trim on the bottom portion of the vehicle is gray on this particular red EN...however, it is red on every other color for the EN. We just didn't get the red color option for the '22 and '23 models (except for in Canada).
It has a (wet )duel clutch not just a duel clutch. Thought I'd point that out but great job done with the video
While a cool car. I took a GRC over this
But I will say the wheels on this are a million times better
I wish their red paint matched the red on the calipers exactly and that they offered a red interior stitching rather than the light blue. Either way, I still love my Black 2022.
Edit: the rear of the face-lift is meh. They made that part worse.
You gotta see it in person.
Good for you. Gald you like the older one better. Everyone wins here.
@@Vffr1 I was just giving my opinion.
@CrystalNinja07 I'm sure I will at some point. That backend kills it for me. Same reason when I was deciding between the Elantra N and WRX last year, that I didn't entertain the WRX. Similar backend. The new face-lift is still mostly nice. Plus, everyone has their own preference.
I was looking at a review of this car and I notice the turn signal triggers a camera in the cluster to see on your right and left blind spot does this car have that option
No, you have to choose around view option..
Not available on the N, at least not in North America.
@@nigel_white that’s disappointing
Is there a non black wheel option?
I don't think so sadly
Is there a manual version?..
watch the entire video
Yes, off course
Noticing all the ones coming into at least Florida are Red. Wonder why
what’s the average lease price on this?
450/month its on Hyundai's website
You said, the Type R isn't worth 10k more or isn't 10k better or more fun.
I think that is pretty subjective depending on how you feel about the brand, the model and the specific car.
I would almost agree to a point, except, after 60k miles, which one would you rather own?
I truly believe the FL5 and DE5 will last a lot longer without major issues than any Hyundai and when you factor in the expenses of repairs, added maintenance, over all reliability, then I would say, the Type R is absolutely worth the extra 10k all day long, just for peace of mind and longev ity and more time in the seat and less at the shop.
Also, to me, the De5 is worth the added expense as well, IF you plan to keep the car long term.
I also think, both cars with 65k miles on them, the Honda will perform as it always has, and without issues whereas, I believe, the same cannot be said for the Hyundai.
If you plan to lease or flip the car after 50k miles, then ok, maybe you have a point then, but for my money, I will not buy a new Hyundai over an Acura or Honda product just because it is cheaper and offers similar performance.
When I decided to buy a new car, I thought, if I could buy any car under 60k for a daily what would I buy? I want performance but reliability too and those two things don't necessarily go hand in hand.
I do not trust the reliability of the Hyundai after their track record of cars up until now.
And let me say, that really sucks, because if not for that one thing, I would love to buy a few Hyundai's / Genesis, I think they do a lot right, but quality control isn't one of those things.
They make a great product, but they also cut corners, take shortcuts and adapt engineering that is questionable at best.
I was shopping these and several other cars for 10 months everything from Toyota and Lexus to Dodge and Ford, Honda, Acura and Hyundai, even Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru as I gathered information, opinions, test drives and facts, and in the end, I wanted a manual shift, but also wanted a more practical car than my 350Z so cars like the Miata and Supra, BRZ, and 86 were out, it needed a useable back seat and room for bikes, golf clubs, etc..
In the end, I gladly spent the extra money and bought a Type S, for 1k under MSRP or 52k, and to me, since I plan to put 350k miles on it, I feel very good about my purchase, it never even entered my mind that maybe the Elantra was a better financial deal so maybe I would go that way.
I would rather take the more expensive car with its quirks and flaws and then put another 5k into it, and have a car suited to my taste and needs that gives me peace of mind knowing I don't have anything to worry about if I continue with solid basic maintenance.
It is crazy how close several car makes come to having a very good line up of options in this sector, but each has its own flaws and issues, none are perfect, but a few stand out as doable and worth the money, if that is what you want from a car.
Obviously, all this is subjective and a matter of opinion of course, thanks for the topic, content and debate.
Performance wise it's not no
would rather have the type R on looks alone
On looks alone this is 10k better.
The EN doesn’t use real performance brakes, lacks wide tires and wide body.
Let’s not forget how awful the octane learning thing is.
All these little things are what makes the FL5/DE5 a better overall performer in the road.
@@Marbind N performance breaks are equivalent to brembos on track. Driven both. You can put wide tyres on it .
Those are things that might make it a tad better on track but not road. The N is a way better road car.
@@mharro88 Butt measurements don’t count.
The stopping distance is longer in the EN than the CTR. 😉
Please explain further how stopping 8ft longer from 70mph makes it better?
**16ft longer from 100mph
"Non Grin Shift"?
You would not miss it on the 6MT. I test drove it and also the DCT
@@jmmch3358 Looks like you missed the point of my post.
Ben you look like you make your own beef jurky😂. Love the content 👌
what's the adm on the 2024 elantra n
$0. You can find them without markups if you shop around.
@@SonikDethmonkey do you know of any dealer offering a 2024 elantra n for $0 adm?
@@live1053 I don’t have a name off the top of my head but if you’re patient and/or willing to contact dealers outside of your immediate area then it is definitely possible. Check the forums and you’ll find people getting them for MSRP fairly frequently. This is not a limited production car, we’re just slow to get them. Don’t be impatient and buy into the hype.
I check on 1 last week. They wanted 1,000$ a Month. I laughed at them
I would have too. 😂😂
What was msrp? How much down?
Get your money up
Buy cash one time $38000 cost
@horseplop9 Did you have any money down may I ask and is your credit kinda low? $1000 a month is damn crazy for a $35-36k car. Finance it for 72 months and have a few grand down or more with decent credit you should come in way lower than $1000 a month.
We miss the Veloster
Same. Some of those two seater Veloster rolling test labs looked sick. Was hoping they would release one to take on the supra or z
The gti would be its closest competitor
How? Not even remotely close in performance or size . And a much better price on the N...GTI at that price is a base model, N is nicely equipped.

Don’t want to nitpick but I will. Doesn’t a hot hatch need to be a hatchback. Like say the Veloster 😂😂😂
Love the car but that color just doesn't suit that car at all. Maybe a Camry.
Nice review the civic type r engine will outlast this and the manual is much better
No question. The fun factor may be similar between the two vehicles but you’re 100% correct and the resale is certainly going to be better than the Hyundai as well so people have to look at the entire picture before making a decision.
But $10k more if you’re lucky without dealer markups. What is your point?
@@JohnLee-db9ztyou know how fast $10,000 can get spent on a poorly made car after a few years?

This review does little for the Elantra
Hot hatch?!?!
You can definitely tell where they cut corners to save money. It’s too obvious
Can you list them
Where?
Because the other brand don't make this😂 Hyundai comparate to what was before, Is killing everyone

What? It's one piece

Good Job Hyundai. But I mean…I personally would rather get me a mustang with that price tbh
Is your goal to look like Jesus?
And??? Why not?
Jesus like all of the Bible characters were black. According to Jane Elliott white people did not invent any major religion. So no he is not trying to look like Jesus. He looks like Ben Hardy

Wtf is a hot hatch sedan
First view😂
This is not type R competitors.🙌 Civic Si is in the same category 👍
I've owned both the elantra N and now the type R. The EN is absolutely a competitor to the type r
You might want to look at savagegeese’s review then. They’re a lot closer than you think
Civic SI isn't even I the same category as the Elantra N. The DCT Elantra N runs a faster 1/4 mile than the Type R, just beat the Type R's Laguna Seca lap record, and when the manual model was tested head to head using the same tires, was within hundredths of a second of the Type R in lap times and wasn't even octane learned. Unfortunately... You're incorrect lol
Type Rs ain't that fast this is its competitor at 10k cheaper
Lol I’ve watched that video and Civic si was completely blown away but the Elantra n
37,000. With that type of markup get your self a type r
