  • Today was a first for us! We ate lunch at the Jungle Navigation Co LTD Skipper Canteen in Adventureland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. We are reviewing the ambience and theming, service, drinks, and food for this table service restaurant to hopefully help you make better decisions on where to eat next time you're at Disney World. Enjoy!

We went to Skippers for the first time last year, and our family still talks about it today! My kids loved their steak and lava cake. It is the restaurant we recommend most to family and friends. I am so glad you guys enjoyed your time there!

I am enjoying your food reviews. I ate at Steakhouse 71 and had the Vegetable “Wellington”. It was good but I would probably not have it again. I eat a lot of vegan/vegetarian dishes so I was surprised! Thanks for all that you do!

Surprised a steakhouse didn't pull off a vegetarian dish! K!

You look FABULOUS in those ears! 😍 The perfect accessory for this meal! Great review - I think we are going to have to finally make it there on our next trip. So many vegan options, which is great. This series is so so enjoyable - thank you!

🤣 I knew you were my kind if people. I'd be cackling right along with you on the JC. It's a must do for us, in fact that or Peter Pan are usually what we rope drop at MK. 😉 We enjoy this restaurant with all the Adventurers Club nods and the servers are always excellent. 😋 (We lean very heavily on sit down character meals and Whispering Canyon/Prime Time type dining though)

I realize that if you don't have dietary restrictions you might not be aware, but it's worth mentioning Skipper Canteen is hands down one of the best restaurants on property for Celiacs. For starters, the bulk of the menu is gluten free. They aren't modifying existing menu items or removing things from the plate so you get something "less than", their GF dishes are designed that way. They actually use only GF soy sauce in this location which is something uncommon in most restaurants- that's country wide. They have a char siu that's gluten free and that's simply not a thing. I've looked for years, this restaurant is the ONLY place I've found offering such an option. Their crispy chicken dish is GF and still, it's actually crispy. Usually that sort of thing is a disappointment. Oh, and the cheese bread you ate is also GF. It's Brazilian cheese bread (you might have heard of brazi bites?) and they're made from tapioca. So they might not be everyone's favorite, tapioca can be chewy or sticky, but it's a naturally GF "bread" which is a big deal for those who must eat that way.

It’s free for us to use your travel agency services?

Yep, as long as you book a commissionable package, most suppliers (Disney, Universal, Cruises, etc) have a built in commission that they either keep if a guest books directly with them or pay to an agency if they decide to use one.

I didn't like my dish when I went in January. Fish, aldente veg and broth for $32.00. Meh. Strange dish and I like food. His steak was delicious, but small for $38.00. Expensive for 2 people.
