Workshop: Vocal improvvisation and scat in jazz singing - Bob Stoloff

The aim of the workshop is to introduce the concept of vocal improvisation to people with a traditional music education and an interest in contemporary improvisation and jazz.
Bob Stoloff, in partnership with Stefania Patanè, will review the fundamentals of "scat" singing, supported by proper vocal technique. Stoloff will teach the basic scat syllables, stylistic joints, the rhythmic phrasing, considerations on the stairs and how improvise in blues, using the "call-response" structure.
In addition, the team will teach the appropriate vocal articulations to play the sounds of certain instruments, such as drums, bass and brass.
