Yes it is a good compromise, and I had no idea that they existed until I watched your video, so thanks for the video. It’s nice to learn something new every day!
Simple install, 4 of these to do the front yard, genius!
We just installed this in my yard and it works like a charm!! Much easier than moving around a sprinkler and so much less expensive than a sprinkler system. We LOVE it!
Glad to hear 👍🏻
That is ingenious and a great alternative while saving for an irrigation system
Wow I have that set up in my yard for the past 6 years and it’s what I use rain bird sprinkler system
I have a ton of roots in my yard that would make an underground irrigation solution incredibly difficult to install. I also hate the idea of setting up and moving around the typical sprinklers. This sounds like the perfect solution. Thanks for the review!
One "HECK" of an Improvement from moving my Sprinkler around, and affording an In-Ground System!
Thanks for sharing this Rain-Bird Product!
Take care,
🤓-Thomas
Like you I struggled with this on my old house. I wish these where available back then. And again like you I have a Sprinkler system now. But I can say this would help a lot of people
😊👊🏻💯
As a frugal poor homeowner I kind of like the idea.
I bought 3 of these for my front yard. i only needed 2, and I LOVE THEM. My neighbor saw it, and he got one for father's day, which i installed into his yard. This is too easy. The only issue is with the quick disconnect. On the hose side, a black plastic retainer will pop out and you will lose your green check valve and that retainer. I found the green check valve. Also, the disconnect leaks a lot. I hope rain bird expands on this idea. I have looked for them to only sale the hose connection pieces so i can pick different head(s).
I’m definitely getting this for my new house
Wow, that is a great invention and nice video explaining it.
Love it! I’m going to look for it!
that's really smart! I'm going to get these!
Last year I ran 8 impact sprinklers and hoses to cover the yard. A system like this would have been much easier than the hours of setting up and taking down sprinklers before and after each mow. The hassle convinced me to do an in-ground sprinkler system earlier this year.
I like your idea of just putting it in a planter, very convenient don't have to bend down all the way to the ground
That worked perfectly
Except that flower pot is a lot heavier than a standard hose end sprinkler...
I got a great idea... they should invent something that jabs into the ground with a hose connection and sprinkler head on it...
@@envidjunkie lol
that looks like an interesting idea will have to check it out
Similar to my DIY setup! Nice video.
Just boight 4 of this for 15$ today at home depot. I installed 1 and i absolutely loved it. Will install the rest tbis weekend.
Awesome. I didn’t know Home Depot carried these.
I have an half acre .
Thank you my friend for this. I spent hours and considered buying a buncha pipes and sprinklers.
It's really a great option.
How many did you need for half acre?
Dude I sooooo appreciate this! Thanks so much - sold me!
Hope they work for you.
Great idea !
Chapeau!! That was a genius idea !!!!!
Thanks
I just spent a bunch of money on growing y’all fescue and I definitely want it to survive and after watching this video I definitely will be getting a bunch of these
They are an unbelievably popular item on Amazon!
I may have to try this out! I didn’t know this existed! Thanks for sharing....
Sure thing 👍🏻
I loved your idea of putting it in a large flower pot, easier than digging up the lawn and moving it to the best place..and then I don't need to unhook it when the gardeners come to mow and it looks cleaner..and if I have the strength I can move it a little to maximize the spray. Thanks for the idea and my neighbor has the rainbird and it looks good but he mows his own lawn so he can disconnect it when he mows, I water every morning and they mow once a week in the afternoon so I need to remember to remove the sprinkler else they throw it anywhere and don't put it back. This will work since I will put away from them and not worry about moving it again and still give my lawn and flowers the water they need and in the winter I could cover it with hay or some other material to protect it from the freezing cold. Now I need to find a large pot to put it in, way cheaper than digging up a trench and putting in a whole sprinkler system.
Good vid. Straight to the point
Thanks. It's a simple but effective product.
I love that thing!
Thanks 😊
Love the planter example did that to my front and side yard!!!
Thanks 😊
Thanks for this video. I bought three at Home Depot today for our odd shaped yard. Hardest part was digging the holes. Set-up was really easy. The quick connect feature makes for a super easy swap between the three heads. Cheers!
Hope it works well for you! Let me know!
@@handydadtv works so well my wife wants to water the lawn. Super time saver. Very easy to dial in too.
Awesome!
Great 👍🏾 I’m getting this.
This is awesome. Going to give it try. Had a house built last year and we had to pass on the irrigation system for other upgrades.
Actually a pretty damn genius idea
RVA Lawn Love PITTL
What actually
I like it great review
Luckily I have in ground irrigation, however this is pretty slick for those who don't and can't afford to put it in.
Man, I'm lucky my first house has a sprinkler system. I'm always scared about the next house not having one, but if it doesn't this is a great investment!
Yes it’s a great alternative until you can afford an irrigation system.
amazing improvement. I think I am going to hook it to a pvc pipe.
This is amazing!!!!!
Glad you like it!
Genius idea !!! And the price is just as good
Glad you like it!
This is a nice video. It was not exactly what I was looking, but it is nice to know what's available in the market. By the way, you have a great voice for informercial/ commercials.
Thanks so much 😊
Jersey stand up. Lawn domination here I come.
I have them in my yard and I love them.
Glad you like them 👍🏻
Awesome. This is the best solution I've seen. The cost for in ground is high. Now if there have a controller to do zones that world be good
There are plenty of timers for garden hose connections, but you still need to move the hose.
Good Idea!
Thanks
Awesome! Why couldn’t I have seen this last year before I bought 10 orbit sprinklers, 20 zero g hoses and 10 timers?
These are great. I have a system of two pop up impact sprinklers with the hose connect in the middle of the two sprinklers and it works astoundingly well. Far cheaper than the $10K plus it would cost for a traditional system.
Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome
nice design
Thanks
I just installed 6 of these rain birds on our half acre works very well with timer as well. About 70 psi it will shoot 40 feet. You guys can achieve this with a pressure gauge and adjusting your pressure. Saved me a ton of money. We were quoted 6000 for an sprinkler system. This is a very efficient alternative.
Wow glad to hear!
do you have any of them connected together? Or use them separately
Yes I totally agree and that is great I just ordered 4 each
Enjoy!
Nice !...
Great!
I like it
Looks cool. I’m certainly going to think about this. We have 15000 sf cool season grass just outside Philly . We would need 5 of them. It is a major P I A to water the lawn. Thanks for the info.
15,000?
Umm....... yes plz! I water 2 acres with hoses and sprinklers this would be a huge time saver! This paired with those super light yet durable hoses would be an awesome setup!
I saw this advertised somewhere online and thought it be an ideal fit for my back yard. Ordered 1 unit to give it a pilot try and out of the box outstanding. Decided to order in one more for the backyard and another fit but had a bit of a problem with getting the drop pins aligned to the pattern. With a little adjusting it’s perfect front yard next ..little overkill on the input but like the concept!
Glad it worked out for you.
I actually love the idea of using the flower pot. You don't have to bend over.
It’s a good idea to determine where to dig the holes.
What took so long for something so simple and effective!? Perfect for smaller lawns.
Came across these at Home Depot discounted for $9 each. Super easy to install and saves the hassle of moving sprinklers all over the place.
Must have been on clearance because that's a bargain!
@@handydadtv yeah they had them on an end cap with a yellow price tag. Should’ve grabbed a few more 🤷🏻♂️
You could sell them on eBay 😉
@@workswithzach8219 same here. I got two for 9 bucks each on the endcap at Home Depot. Best deal that I’ve got in a while.
Live in W NY. How does the product stand up to the winter freeze? . Can you leave them in the ground year round?
Nice product. Look at Quick Snap QSK-74. You only need 1 hole.
Yes it’s a very good sprinkler love it like if you agree with me
Interesting
I want 3 right now
They are surprisingly popular.
Ya I get why you got it
How do you get the water out of the head before winter freezes the ground and the water in the head?
FYI.. wow!! Finally got around to buying and installing this thing... its perfect! Thanks! Are you on twitter?
I am! @HandyDadTV
@@handydadtv thanks! Just tagged you on my tweet.
Awesome video. Would it be possible to place connector further by adding replacing the tube or cut the tube and add coupling?
Yes! Before I got around to putting a valve in my system I ran the entire system off a garden hose. I had 9 rotors with 2 GPM nozzles in each. I don't remember the model number but I have those sprinklers from rain bird that let's out about 45 psi from each head and the system work flawless unit I was able to afford the valve and timer.
You have to be home, no summer vacations if you live in warmer climates?
Love the idea. Will the head rise high enough for a 4” tall fescue lawn?
I would say so. The grass blades will bend out of the way from the water pressure. That's what happens with my sprinkler system now (I also mow TTTF at 4").
The Quick-Snap sprinklers are a much better solution and the company offers a 5 year warranty. I’ve tried them both and Quick-Snap sprinklers are better quality and can remain in the ground all winter long here in New Jersey.
You’ve used both systems? Can you explain why you’d go with quick snap in more detail? I’m debating on these 2 products - any advice would be much appreciated
wow
Yes
Just installed two yesterday, but I left off the black enclosure for the water hose and buried that end of the hose in flower bed. Also hooked up a timer
That works!
Nice video. Do you know the psi (and gpm) of your water spigot where the hose is connected to for the sprinkler?
No sorry.
Looks like a cool sprinkler. Our yard is relatively small... maybe 20' across. If I put it in a corner, am I able to adjust the stream so I'm not hitting the street from the corner? What's the minimum distance the adjustment screw will allow for? Thanks!
Not sure the minimum distance, but you should be fine to shorten it to 20 feet. You’d want to use two units; each in opposite corners.
You can just simply not turn on the water full blast if you don't want or need long coverage
I like the idea. What about the water still left in the sprinkler, will that freeze come winter time? How would you drain the water out so it doesn't freeze?
The instructions do not specify any winterization requirements, but you can call 800-RAINBIRD to verify.
I wonder if this is the same sprinkler head as in the Maxi Paw, which I just saw a video on & saw for 1st time yesterday at Home Depot when I went to buy a 50' roll of RB Swing Pipe for 17 bucks (as opposed to 20 at Lowes and 23 or so and shipping from RB site.) Instead of having to run the hose onto the lawn I bought a RB plastic barbed male adapter to go into the sprinkler, and a female adapter to thread onto that long thing (had to buy a brass one since stores don't carry many others), then I ran 16 feet of the pipe in a trench to the flower bed by the hose faucet. This way I don't have to get out early and put the sprinkler on, I can use a timer and not have to drag the hose out onto the lawn where the Click & Go box is, the box is near the faucet.
Good thinking
I would prefer this over an irrigation system. Broken sprinklers are a pain in the ASS!
I did my own irrigation system digging all my trenches installed about 12 sprinklers 3 valves not 1000s of dollars if your not lazy
I’ve done that too. It’s a lot of work but very rewarding.
@@handydadtv it’s always nice to crack a cold beer open and look at everything you did
Thats the way to go if you dont want to spend money
I bought one
Does rain bird sell just the connector similar to the click n go? I would like to be able to attach the garden hose to other above ground impact sprinkler after using the hose on this product.
I know they sell Click-n-Go for garden hoses. Not sure if they sell the one sized for underground connection pipes.
LEave it in a corner with the host hooked up and run the hose along the foundation to the faucet with a electric time.
Hi, can I just confirm that the water also escapes from the bottom of the main head, through the four small square holes, or am I being stupid? Wouldn’t make sense to me if it did, but that’s what happened when I tried it out?
Perhaps they are drains when you turn off the pressure? I’m not sure.
I'm considering buying this without the click n go and just burying the system with a connected hose. my question is if I accidentally run it over with the tire of the mower is it going to break the system? obviously I would try not to but accidents happen
Those sprinkler heads are made to be run over.
Brilliant ! Will it work on a small motor or less horse power ?
I don’t understand. Are you sure you’re commenting on the right video?
@@handydadtv , yes I am looking for a sprinkler and this rain bird lg3he is suitable for my garden but we have a water pump which is of 1 horsepower or it needs a motor with high horsepower.
Oh! It’s just an impact sprinkler head so if you can currently use a portable sprinkler, you should be able to use this.
@@handydadtv thank you 🙏🏻
Looks pretty slick! I mow high...like 3.75in, will the head reach that high?
Evergreen Cottage I’d like to know as well...
@@PALAWNWARRIOR I have seen these sprinklers work with tall grass, the water sprays strong enough to lay the grass down at the sprinkler
I tried building my own version of this but I couldn’t figure out a good way of doing the hose connection.
Right. This fills a niche.
You would have to winterize them in area's where you experience a actual winter with cold and snow let's not forget that the trapped water will expand when it freezes and bust the plastic or if you don't use it for a season depending on height of installation the grass will grow over the top and cover it like a valve box on a irrigation system then it's lost
here i was thinking this was an elegant solution, but you raise an excellent point.
@@RobertDoosh The company states that it can be winterized (ie. Water removed from device) by using a simple bicycle pump.
Not these, Rainbirds impact sprinklers arent a closed system and once water is turned off they will drain into the ground directly and evaporate. As long as you arent running them in winter youll be fine turn them off a week or two before a freeze and it will be 100% dry. Rainbird if you call them will tell you something similar there is no need to blow air through them (although you can!)
I bought one two minutes into the video.
👍🏻👊🏻💯
How can you get one of them sprinklers or where can you get one .
There’s a link in the video description.
Can i adjust it with the water off? Thanks,
I think there may be a tool to lift the head without the water on, but I think it’s easier to do with the water on.
For your calendar. What is “WC”?
Weed Control
If you want install 50 underground impact sprinkler you need 20 bar like fire sprinkler pump
These aren’t meant to be used that way. They’re good for small yards when the hose will be moved from one to another.
Is there a timer?
Not included. But Rain Bird makes them.
Do you think they'd work fine cutting that hose off and using longer 50' rainbird hose if you wanted to group say 3 connections next to eachother to use a timer and not have to move hoses all over?
You could definitely add a tee and run another head from one hose connection, if that’s what you’re asking. Just depends on your water pressure. Two should be fine. Not sure about more though.
@@handydadtv thanks for the info, but I meant I wanted to cut off the stock hose so I can run the cup with quick disconnect a longer distance. That way I could install 3 of these but have the hook ups in one location, if that makes sense?
Oh I gotcha. Yes you could do that. But if you’re willing to do all the work to dig up your lawn to run pipes to the sprinkler heads, think about doing a DIY irrigation system.
@@handydadtv that's kind of what this is. I only need 3 to cover my lawn and I'll be using a 3 manifold water timer so I'll have 3 zones.
Does anyone know if they make a version that doesn’t have the “click-click-click” sound?
You could make your own honestly. I'd recommend going to an irrigation supplier for the actual 3500 or 5000 rotor heads instead of the big box stores 32SA/42SA. And get some piping and a valve box sold at many stores and you'll have the basic setup as one of these
Going to give it a go, on second thought I looked at the reviews and they turned me off!!
Read those reviews carefully. A lot of them are complaining about a timer and rotors. The pictures in the reviews don’t match the product shown. Not sure what’s going on with the Amazon reviews, but I had no complaints. Does exactly what it should. I’m going to save this unit for when my daughter buys a house. And I’ll probably buy four more.

where is the give away? lol
