EARLY NEW SEASON FRIENDLY: PHOENIX U16 BOYS v SWORDS
Last week the head coach of our 2024-25 U16 A boys team - Simon Kennedy - announced his squad for next season.
Not hanging around Simon arranged an early season 'warmer-upper' with a game against Swords Basketball Club U16s (Head Coach Emer Howard).
Swords proved challenging opposition - particularly in the first half of the game as our guys took a while to get going - while Swords hit their straps straightaway (they scored from the tip!).
The second half was a much more even affair - with Oisin Holman in particular showing up - as he finished top scorer for Phoenix with an impressive 22 points.
Swords were well deserving of their 17 points win (52-69).
We hope Emer and her lads benefited from the game in the same way as our coaches Simon and Joby Holman and our boys did!
