    wild that its structurally solid with just tape

    • @AZSolutions92
      @AZSolutions92  Před 7 měsĂci

      Yea man, the more you run the squeegee on the tape the better it adheres to the duct, you can also add some mesh tape then mastic for a more strong seal.

    Hey Sheet metal worker here, curious, if you used the same standards for metal elbows, would the airflow improve? (I.E a full throat elbow) Using the miter rise formula to get a full throat elbow on that 15" wide duct, you'd have to cut the throat for that middle piece at approx 11.5 inches instead of 3 inches. though maybe that's just not practical?

    How do you connect the transition 14x8 to 12x8 duct?

    • @alexanderrosales9175
      @alexanderrosales9175 Před 6 měsĂci

      I just cut the corners longer and bend the S’s at a 45 degree and use 1inch bend it to the right size to 12x8 and voila just connect the duct together

  • @franklinmesa3876
    @franklinmesa3876 Před rokem +1

    Do a 45 next

    You said staple, but I didn't see where they went. Isn't it required to be stapled?

    • @AZSolutions92
      @AZSolutions92  Před 2 lety +1

      The staples are required to be on the closing flap of the duct board. When cutting an offset like in this video the the 2 tape tabs that I used to pressure duct together are by law from the duct construction handbook no staples are required, only foil tape that is code compliant may be used.

    Does this work the same way if the 90 is on the shorter face of the duct?

    • @AZSolutions92
      @AZSolutions92  Před 2 lety

      Yes, as long as you use a 22.5 degree template or speed square marked at 22.5 degrees.

      You add 1 inch flange to have the pieces together with tapping screws or do only S’s and Drives ?

  • @crisken5105
    @crisken5105 Před rokem +1

    can this be done with sheet metal?

    • @AZSolutions92
      @AZSolutions92  Před rokem +1

      Yes, its the same with sheetmetal except you have to account for 1” on all sides to allow for the slip & drives to attach properly

  • @michaelhouser4673
    @michaelhouser4673 Před 6 měsĂci +1

    You realize you could have taken the number 6 cutter and went around your lines and it would have made the one inch tab all the way around so when you connect it you dont have to fight to line it up you did that way harder than it had to be
