it seems like a very humble game, from humble beginnings and I think that’s why we all want to love and protect this game so much. It resonates with us and how it’s not this ultra capitalistic greedy black hole to suck all of our pockets dry. It’s cozy, warm, and humble.

Agreed! I’ve been supporting them on Patreon for a couple years and they truly take great pains to ask for and listen to input and feedback from future players. It makes it feel like we are actually collaborating with the developers too which is just incredible!
Unironically looking forward to losing myself in creating one parafolk for 3 hours, then one room for 5 hours because of all the customisation options. It looks like such a cozy, relaxing game you can come to after a stressful day and all the builds are gonna be so unique.

i feel the same!! :,) tbh, building and furnishing in the sims is kind of stressful for me. i have a vision of what i want, but the lack of customization becomes really frustrating and i give up. i’m so excited to build and furnish para homes to my heart’s content. 🥰
@C I've been watching hack videos recently and there's stuff the game doesn't bother to teach you that help in build mode and CAS... Nothing for customizing patterns though.
You're right. The characters in paralives look like real (drawn) people. I really like the art style, too.

The art style definitely grew on me and now I'm eager to create characters, build, and play. They're hard at work on live mode now but I can't wait to see more about genetics and personalities.

Tbh i like how they are confident of the game they are making but they're open to DLCs as well in the future because you never know, maybe there's something that players would really really want to see and the can always add it like supernatural creatures, you know?
@@jaybee4288 They said they MIGHT do supernatural for a DLC in the future. It won't be in the game itself.
Honestly a very extensive dlc is the only way I see them adding supernatural one day. Entirely optional for anyone and exactly what a dlc should be : an extra that adds a new dimension but that you can entirely play without if it's not your thing
@@jaybee4288 They said they might be open to it. Personally I never liked supernaturals in a live sim but I know how many people like the paranormals in the Sims 4 so I think it will defintly come at some point

I think with so much insanity and stresses of real life I think Paralives decided to keep it simple and cozy is the right choice. I am super excited to see it released, even though it will take longer than usual because it is a small team. All the best to the Paralives team!
I think the comic book art style you talk about will make it so much nicer and easier to make unique characters. That can be for different races but also for styles like punk or fashionista or grungy looking Paras. I’m ready for Paralives.
I really hope it’s on the switch. I wasn’t crazy about the graphics, but my mistake was to think of it as a sims alternative. It doesn’t have to be. It stands on its own perfectly fine as a cozy game and now I can’t wait for its release. Puffpals and Paralives are looking so good, big companies should learn.

I love how the characters look now? They did look very weird or uncanny at first but it seems like things have smoothed out and it’s a cross between sims like cartoonish to realist or drawn like how I draw my anime etc. I’m digging it!

What I'm looking forward to in this game is spending hours customizing everything and then actually wanting to play with what I've created. We haven't had much gameplay yet but just the idea of being able to send my para outside to smell the flowers and lean against a tree makes me happy
1:57 wow that parafolk is beautiful. And in base game, not like the sims that you usually need cc to make stunning sims lol
I think, it would be a good idea for base game of Paralives to have horses in it.
Only because it seem more challenging add in later on with DLC.
Plus, if the coding is there for horses. They use the coding for dear, and other similar animals later on.

They have been doing amazing, and I love how they are being realistic with us and setting boundaries with what they can/will add. Personally, horses does feel like a stretch. I ain't a developer at all, but it seems they would be under pressure from all these announced life sim games, and they need to be very conscious of their budget - it isn't a very big budget at all. Despite that, they are still doing so amazing, and I hope they don't feel to much pressure/ expectations, much of their fanbase are happy to wait.
And if they decide to remove horses later on, I would totally understand, we’ll be too busy customizing characters to notice lol
As a person who played GTA to drive within the lines, stop at stop signs and red lights, and overall follow the law, I like plain and normal lol
I love the little details. The basket on that bike is ABOVE the bike light. TS4 just stuck the basket right over the light. 🙄 Garbage bin and recycle bin. There's even a power meter on the side of the house.
You should think about streaming on Twitch sometime! Love your humor/voice. I would watch you just playing the sims or any game for that matter.
I was not sure of the graphix of the avatar themselves at first.... but the look is growing on me (especially since i am a graphic artist myself =) I LOVE the "comic book" style!!!

It really is nice of them to take their time with the game’s development. Been years since we first heard about it. It’s like they’re taking into accounts the things that are limited in their future rival game(s), and trying to bring as many features as possible into their main ‘base’ game. With the current crash-grabbing spree of The Sims, what the team of Paralives are doing is very much appreciated. Have a nice day, Satch!
I like the characters they look like a realistic comic book.
The best part of this game is the competition its gonna give the sims. Competition always breeds better games.
I really hope paralives adds a build mode mirroring feature. I LOATHE the fact that in the sims 4 both of my end tables open the same direction 😭
Treat yourself! The world is so much brighter and better with something to balance the drama~ Also Paralives looks so cute, and so good. It kind of reminds me of the New York New York manga, maybe because it's style is so unique and different!
The graphic style /design about thé folks reminds me a little about Life is Strange and the telltale games series like in The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us or Game of Thrones
Omg when u talked about curved walls I just remembered we got that in the sims 4 but extremely broken unless maybe they fixed it? Video idea! Check the curved walls progress

It's interesting to see how the art style is evolving! 😍 You can just see how they have spend a lot of time on it. Tweaking it over the years and improving little aspects. This game is clearly made with love and care. 🥰

I am really excited about what you are showing here. I like building, creating characters, and gameplay. My style is basically anything fantasy, fairytale, occult, strange, storybook. Like, I won't be building that suburban American house. 😆 But I'm wondering if Paralives will have options for fantasy realm players?
Me too ! I love medieval fantasy in the sims 😂 ( involving so much CCs and mods lol)
I feel like fantasy would be the perfect direction for them to take later on, especially after seeing the rock placement
@@sugasweet435 I may end up waiting for that to be available in-game before purchasing. It looks really cool. I like the art style. Just think I'd get bored no matter how much I can customize if I can only make the same types of gameplay stories over and over. I want to escape this world not just re-create a version of it.
@@jahanshadi1934 yesssss! I really miss Sims Medieval, although at the time it really made me angry that it was online only play. But if there were a life simulation game that brought back these kinds of scenarios I would be like take ALL my money!

The black outline reminds me of Disney's 101 Dalmatians. I remember something about that being a very new style and technique for the studio in the 60s and I love the aesthetic to this day.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Paralives. I don't mind the animation as it does remind me of TS2. I'm happy with building mode and now I like to see gameplay. I look forward seeing more of their progression.
I really love the artstyle of the characters. They have a cozy dating game aesthetics.
I like how realistically Sims2 sims behave and Paralives seems to have captured that perfectly in their people.
I'll always play Sims2 though.

They clearly noted how Sims players don't care about high graphics and prefer the game play to be good.
I like the style of Paralives more than the one in Life by you. And also, it should be a game that is less demanding of my computer then the life by you will probably be. I definitely am interested in both of them and will follow their development and watch first gameplays before making my final decision. For now, Paralives is absolutely winning.
I love this art style so much!! I’m a cozy gamer and this looks kinda perfect, but I also always have more faith in indie developers. I feel like they tend to put more love and care into their games.

They have said that their artstyle draws heavily from Studio Ghibli movies! When you look at the hand-drawn textures on environments and the outlined-cartoon (or ig anime) style characters as a contrast it really makes sense!

The art direction reminds me like what Need for Speed Unbound did with its character models, but this works better because the cel shaded characters are in stylized environments rather than juxtaposed into realistic cars and maps.

I'm soo excited about this game! I'm a family player and I'm so curious about the kids and babies, especially now, that TS4 got infants. I'm also wondering if the Parafolks will be able to grow taller, when they age up, since they can actually be different heights.
Yesterday I felt like building instead of playing and searched for unique or weird floor plans and a lot were very curved. Nautilus shell shapes and all. Definitely can’t do that in Sims 4. Looks way more possible in Paralives.
Also when it comes to the weather aspect that’s a big annoyance for me in Sims 4. Each new pack the builds are only made with base game and the specific pack in mind. Then when winter hits sims are freezing or burning to death in summer. University housing is designed for locked build mode so you have to use enable free build to be able to add a thermostat. Lol
I hope the build mode will have an option for grid since I suck at placing things align on my own.
I think they talked about it, there is not grid but there is a way to align things automatically to the walls and other stuff
I know the sims 4 has us all fed up but I just want to say the grass is always greener on the other side until you get to the other side hehe that's why I'm not putting my hopes in a new game, paralives or sims 5 bc everything is going to have issues, just different issues and I prefer sameness. I rather deal with the well known issues of the sims 4 than new issues from new games, specially sims 5 which will come bare bc new simulations games always do. ANyways, love your videos and always laugh out loud with you :)
There is no way for the "other side" to be worse than TS4, for me at least. I haven't been excited about this game since it's launch in 2014! Can it just finally die off. It's been long enough. The problems in this game aren't problems we had with any other Sims game and the main problems with it will still exist even if the game goes on for 10 more years. 🙄

I lean towards this more than the other life simulator in the works I think in a big part due to the graphics. I like games on the cartoony side. The game looks fantastic really.
I´m not a builder, I generally download other people´s builds in the sims, but with this tool, I´m dying to try it. I want to build my own dream home! I just wish I can do it in the style that I want. I live in rural northern Spain, and we have a specific look on houses, with celtic roots. Hope that I can build them now, and made them look ok.
