I did that too for a long time, 2 full time jobs and just 4 hours sleep every night. I can’t do that anymore, pain from my broken body is just too much to do it. It’s not worth it, not sure what the best alternative is, but it isn’t worth it.

For those of you blessed to get a home and car before 2020 this doesn’t apply to you. It’s for people that are just starting their life fresh out of school. You’d need to make this much to now attain a family of 4 a home and a car.

What do I mean? The taxes are going up, homeowner’s insurance, utilities and food. Just the taxes along are getting higher than rents used to be not long ago.

I’m on vacation in St Augustine Florida and it’s packed here. Restaurants are at capacity. The trolley tour was full and the shops are busy. Maybe the downtown is only in other areas.

These numbers are most likely factoring in health insurance premiums for a family of 4. Thats a humongous amount which most of the time, an employer covers that cost. So you can minus 40k a year off that at minium.

The standard amount for a single person, it was 12k a few years ago and if I recall 2023 was about 13k....

I make approximately 75k a year. My wife doesn't work. Both vehicles are paid off. My rent is $1800 a month. I have very little credit card debt. And I still manage to save money. It's not much but it can be done.
