    Product: Georgetown G20
    Inventor: Dr. Chris Moss
First One Created by Sara Bonnyman Pottery
    Update 3 years later
I never saw one until I started to wet shaving a few years ago. I couldn’t figure out what the heck it was let alone what it did but I knew everyone was very excited and wanted one. I wrote about this experience on March 26, 2015, here is the link tinyurl.com/yc... It describes my first encounter with a Shaving Scuttle. Since then we’ve seen many artisans try to create their own version of the famous scuttle. Some good and have made improvements over the original others are just me too copies but I’ll let you decide which ones on your own. For me, the Georgetown G20 has it all but the one caveat is this will break when dropped and its surprisingly heavy. I keep mine under the sink for when I feel like a hot lather shave.
I should use this more but I don’t, I bowl lather most the of the time and frankly never really think about it as much as I didn’t before. At the time of my purchase, there was a wait because of a fire which stopped production of them and they are so popular you’ll always find some of them out of stock. Mine was around $65.00 so it's not cheap they do have a smaller version called the G5 which will lower the price. If you feel like the pottery thing is just not your style them, we have some artisans making them out of PETG plastic which is a good alternative to the issues of breakage, portability, weight, and price.

I despise cold lather just like I had this morning, I’ve been face lathering just to avoid cold lather. I guess I am ready for a scuttle. Awesome lather man.

I know exactly how you feel. I just started my DE shaving journey a month ago, and I have been bowl lathering. And while I absolutely love my lathering bowl, what I don't like is how my lather gets cold! I have been looking at scuttles for a month, finally ordered one. I enjoy a good face lather, I just want it to be warm lol.

I got one of those scuttles. Absolutely amazing. I have one almost exactly like yours but white and bought a wood cork vs the rubber one it comes with. I also have an Old Spice shaving mug I use in tandem. 1st I prep the scuttle. 2nd I wet the shaving brush and soap it up in the shaving mug (which has a shaving soap puck). Then I hit the scuttle and it really lathers up. After the shave, I take the excess shaving cream/lather from the scuttle and brush and scoop it up and place it in the shaving mug. Rinse and clean the scuttle and brush. The soap lather/cream excess in the shaving mugs dries into the mug but is easily reused in the next shave following the same procedure. Waste not, what not....

@@MrDonXX so much faster with safety razor though you just went for it ha. But I still new to razors and the honing is a process to gut it to work right. I'm no expert yet but I dont mind it. Great video thought. I think also that the hot hit water is an east coast thing if you gas a natural gas set up. I'm out in Arizona and our water with these energy conserving set ups just dont get nearly as hot. I went to Canada and I almost burned myself ha. Here in AZ at least at my house just crank it all the way and it's good. But it's not constant. I'm sure there's maybe a way to turn up the settings but it cost $ because it still takes time to heat I would think. Like an electric kettle which for me might be the way to go.

sei così divertente. Lo scuttle è un modo fantastico per avere una schiuma calda che i miei saponi fanno schiuma abbastanza bene se lo dico anch'io. Ti auguro una settimana meravigliosa la prossima volta, amico mio.

Bahahaha!! Yeah I suppose some ol doo-wop would work. Solid video, bud. No criticism really intended. Just seem to hear that same generic techno track on a thousand videos. Not a fan personally. Always wondered where it comes from. Some store for stock video music, like stock photos......

I have tried to include some really nice music but CZcams attacks me for copyright all the time so it better to stay with stuff that you're allowed to use. I get my stuff from a variety of places and the offering is ok at best. I'll keep trying to spice it up but the pickings are slim.
