I mean, that’s not really a “FIX” - it’s a work around. I’ve had to do this several times now and it’s getting annoying. A real FIX would be a corrective measure to ensure the console works as intended.
Actually since playstation offers updating via internet or USB drive it really is a fix. However it is an inconvenience to have to take the extra steps. I've had a bricked PS5 due to this update error so using the USB fix keeps me gaming!! Lol.

Have anyone else noticed that your ps5 name changes ever time you do a reset . Back to factory settings means system software should go back to when you first turned on not to the last update that sony released

Bro I've tried everything you did and I'm still getting the same error code of Su-101311-7 I've even reset my PS5 to factory settings loosing all of my date trying the reinstallation file after trying the update file for the 20th time and still I'm getting the same error, I'm loosing my mind bro. I was even talking to someone from playstation for an hour and 57 mins yesterday and he tried his best to help me but when the software is done updating it says something went wrong with the error code SU-101311-7

Still doesn't work for me. So many redownloads to usb and still fails from my drive...
Even with the usb it still says the update file is corrupted. I have nothing else i can do and it’s stuck on the safe mode.
You will have to contact Playstation Repair service and have them send you a FedEx box. I've gone through this process and it takes about 3 weeks total to get it back. Good luck and keep me posted.

For anyone who doesn't have a laptop or PC or doesn't have the right stick, just shut down the console, deconfigure the internet and reconnect and then everything should update normally again. 😉
My only concern for the PS5 is that my games Won't reinstall like it should. Is it true that my whole system has been corrupted or something else?

So my download system update errors were caused by an old router that kept giving me download errors on my computers and the PS5. I replaced the old router and my PS5 update errors are gone. Smooth and fast system updates. Is your router old?
Shouldn’t have to mess around with an offline “fix” for a system that only works online. Sony needs to figure it out.

For me my problem is that I keep blue screening mid game and I need help transferring games to my external hard drive
You get a blue screen during a game? Sounds like maybe you need to reset the PS5.
Do this help the system from malfunctioning and turning off before anything after the playstation logo shows up. Sometimes I get a quadruple screen and constant restarts without the ps5 even restarting

I've only had my PS5 for about 3 months now and I bought it brand new out the box it's driving me crazy because I've pre-ordered god of war Ragnarok and Gotham knights and I can't sign up to PSN because of the system update

An other issue that i have is that i am still stuck in the safe mode with the 8 options and i tried also the other except of option 4 , like options 5 6 and 3 and what it happens after the procedure every time is completed is that it kicks me out to the main menu of the smart tv and i have a warning : check the electrical supply of your device......
The update file corruption issue is caused by your router. As long as router the your ISP gives you is not some old router they have in their warehouse you should be all good. I had the exact same issue and when I bought a new Wifi6 router I never experienced the file corruption problem. I've updated my PS5 at least 20 times in the last 2 to 3 years and zero issues. If your ISP gives an old crappy router then spend a 120 dollars on a new wifi6 or wifi6e router its totally worth it. Good luck and keep me posted.
Why do I have to use a usb drive to do a system update.. I should have got the Xbox !!
My issue with the update errors was my old Wi-Fi 5 router. Once I bought a new Wi-Fi 6 router I have had zero update problems and no USB drive needed.

First, how old is your router? If it's old you need to replace it. My old router caused all the update issues. Once I bought a new router Ive had no update errors. Second, your PS5 is still under warranty so it's free to send in to fix. After 1 year you are basically screwed. Try the new router and see what happens. Keep me posted and good luck!
if the only thing you are supposed to have plugged in is the USB drive, then how are you supossed to initiate the update if you can't have a controller plugged in in safe mode?

Just came across this video and was wondering do you know anything about the error code CE-108255-1
I'm familiar with lots of these error codes but I haven't come across that one. Best bet is to Google search the code or head over to playstation 5 website to find out what it means. Just a heads up all of my error codes were a result of a very old router with unstable data transmission that caused my PS5 to fail to update properly.
I dont think this is true for every body cause mine was working fine until this last update closeed game started updating like always then something went wrong it said. I was able to play and download games by update later option. Cant even reinstall something went wrong it says . Now i have a ps5 that i CAN'T even login cause it has to update first. its only 1yr and 4 months old ps3 still work ps4 still work

How old is your wireless router? If its old then replace the router and that will fix the update errors. My wifi5 router caused my errors. I upgraded to wifi6e and zero errors in the last 14 months. Keep me posted and thanks for watching.

You followed the instructions exactly? Made the PS5 folder? Did you plug the USB in the back of the PS5?
@@UltimateTechHub yes sir. Made the PS5 folder, made the UPDATE folder with the pup file in it. Nothing else is plugged into the ps5. The usb is in the back. Formatted the usb to fat 32 before. I get an error code of SU-101494-9
@@ejthesnackmaster11 Maybe try turning off the PS5 and unplug it for about 20 minutes then plug back and try again. I fixed my errors when I bought a new wireless router. My old router caused the download errors.
Nope, gets the same with a USB-drive. I have downloaded it several time, both on USB2 and 3... stil the same :-(
Have you unplugged the PS5 for about 15 minutes then plugged back in and tried to update? It worked for me once. Otherwise call Playstation Repair service and request the FedEx box for shipping. The whole process takes about 3 weeks. Keep me posted.
I tried to download on the USB drive and formatted and followed all the instructions and then went on PS5 safe mode to install it and still got Software error. PS5 system is done, only had it for about a 1 year. Luckily I just got done playing Spider-Man 2 smh Sony fix this...and stop forcing me to buy a new slim PS5
How old is your router? If its a wifi5 router you need to upgrade to wifi6 or wifi6e. The errors are occurring do to the router. I bought a new router and no more errors. Give it a try!
i still got a file corruption error when using a usb.
You may want to unplug the PS5 for a few hours then retry again. Sometimes that resets it. Otherwise contact PlayStation for a FedEx shipping box to get the repair.

@@UltimateTechHub ok so the past few days I’ve been trying to find a like way to authenticate my purchase of my ps5 since I should have the one year warranty on it, I got it back in march of this year. So I have two questions. How exactly would I contact playstation to get a box? And about the authentication what all do you need to prove that you bought the system with tin the year? I got it through Walmart online. Would I only need screenshots or something on paper?

@@UltimateTechHub I saw a very ridiculous tik tok video. He opened the inside, showed me that the box and the cable came out, and said that you need to put it back.... I cursed under my breath and said, "Come on, why should my cable come out? I take good care of the device." Finally, I opened it and saw that the cable was out of place. Once I put it back in, the process was completed, very surprising

Unplug everything but you can leave the controller plugged in.

Safe mode... update system software... downloads the WHOLE thing... when finished, "the update file is corrupted".. it has nothing to do with my internet. Considering its done the same thing at 3 different households
My issue was my old wifi5 router that caused the file corruption update file. I installed a new wifi6e router and have no file update errors. I have updated my PS5 software at least 14 times with no problems so that was my easy fix. I hope this helps.

Probably a router issue. Is your router old? If it is install a new router.
@@UltimateTechHub oddly enough, after replacing the power/eject board, my Blu-ray player started working, and even more odd. I finally got my console to take the update. I used the rear USB port, for no other reason but to use it.. And it's up and running again.. thanks for the video. Sometimes it's a combination of things with these crappy consoles.

Is the PS5 stuck in safe mode? You might have to send it in for a repair if it is.Have you tried to do complete system restore? Also power of PS5 and unplug it for about 30 minutes. Then try to update again. Keep me posted.

@U How is your internet connection? Is your router old? I figured out that my old linksys router was causing unstable network connections when downloading updates which caused my PS5 update issues. I replaced my router with a bee linksys and haven't had any issues since.

Connect the USB to your PC. Then right click the USB drive. Select format. Fat32 should be selected. The click format. That's it.

You will probably have to send it in for repairs. My issue ended up being a faulty wireless router that was very old and caused unstable network connections. This is why when try downloading the ps5 updates it just crashed. I replaced my router and smooth sailing with zero update errors. Good luck and keep me posted!

It's an issue with the system software update file. If this happens often you need to buy a new wireless router. That's what fixed me issue.
